We'll Elope

Marie Since Nathan returned and explained everything to me, he made sure to spend time with me and check on me almost everyday. I decided to go back to work. And so far there are no visits from either Alex or Anika. I'm glad that I don't have to face them. Truth be told, I don't want to see them. Especially the leggy Barbie. I don't like the idea that she is engaged to Nathan even though Nathan don't want anything to do with her. It was obvious that she wanted Nathan. But I won't let her take him from me. At the end of the day we were cleaning the shop. Just tidying the last few stuff just as Tina is reading a gossip magazine. "I can look at Alexander Salvatore all day and wont get tired of it." Joan said seeing the the magazine cover is Alex. "I agree. If only he's not much of an asshole." Tina added. "Why would you say that" Joan asked. "He's always mean to Marie." Tina answered. Joan looked at me. "Why was he like that anyway? Isn't he your boyfriend's bestfriend? He should be supporting you guys." She said. "Well, not Alex." I said. "Oh my god." Tuna suddenly exclaimed. Joan and I turned our gaze towards Tina who's eyes were wide like saucers while looking at the magazine. "What's wrong with you?" Joan asked. Tina looked at us, and flipped the magazine for us to read the content. There was an article regarding a high society gala. That gala was the one which Nathan attended the other night. The article has a picture of Nathan with Anika. And the caption is: Publishing company heirs; engaged. I felt like a the weight of the world suddenly fell on me. Is this for real?? "Nathan is engaged?" Joan asked. "Did you know?" Tina asked. I could feel their eyes on me, waiting for my explanation. Then my phone rang and Nathan's name flashed in the caller ID. "Hello" I answered. "Are you still in-" I cut him off. "I saw the article." I heard him curse. "I'm coming. Wait there." He said and hang up. I put my phone down and looked at Tina and Joan. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° After closing, I stayed outside the shop and waited for Nathan. Not even a few minutes later, he arrived. He got out of his car and rushed towards me, pulling me in his arms. "I'm sorry. I swear I don't have anything to do with that." He said pulled away. "Let's go to your place then let's talk." He said. I nodded and we hopped in his car and drove towards my apartment. ···························· Once we are in the safety of the apartment, Nathan wont stop pacing on the living room. "Nathan, will you stop. You'll worn out the carpet. Leah will definitely kill us." I said. "My mother was behind that article. She somehow tipped the paparazzi about the stupid engagement." He stopped and looked at me. "I'm really sorry." I looked down my hands. "What's gonna happen now?" I asked. I heard him sigh. There was a long pause before I felt him sat beside me "We'll elope." I whipped my head towards him. "What?" I asked. Is he freaking serious?? "I'm sick and tired of my mother controlling my life. I love you and you're the one I want to marry. I want to be in charge of my life now. And it won't happen if we stay here. " He paused. "We'll leave the city. Go somewhere no one will find us. Possibly in the countryside. Anywhere far from them. Far from our problems. Just you and me." He told me. "Are you sure?" I asked him. "I'm never been sure my entire life. f**k the company. f**k them all. You're all I need." We stared at each other before I opened my lips and say. "When will we leave?" Nathan grinned. Looks like he already have a plan. He laid out his plan, which really surprised me. He thought of it, up to the smallest detail.
