The Gravity of it all

*Star**POV

We drove for what seemed like hours, only stopping at a diner for breakfast. As quickly as we stopped, we were as quick to get back on the road. Zane wasn't lying when he said he would get us to our destination really quick. I was curious about this one detour though, but I just pushed it to the back of my mind. Something in me told me just to let go and trust him. Well, that something was Serenity, but she was working on hormones, must and a case of virginititis surprisingly, she wanted to f**k the s**t out of this one. Every time I tried to lose this thing in my core call virginity, she would f**k s**t up by either forcing shift so I would have to leave or do some witchy bullshit that I can't explain to the guys. I just stopped trying. My only sexcapde are battery operated. I feel like punishing her and say no to Zane hotness and monster d**k that I know he's sporting from the slight glance I took last night while he was in the bath towel, but I also feel that I would be doing myself a disservice and I really want to get laid the right way. With a person, with a  man. f*****g gorgeous hot sexy as sin man, f**k I feel my panties drown in my wetness again for him. It's never done that before, not even for B.O.B (battery operated boyfriend), and I've gotten good at using BOB or my shower head. It all depends on my mood and how quick I want it to be over. A fake d**k the b***h doesn't mind, but men she freaks out about.

"Little mate, you're doing it again," he said with a sly smile. 

"Doing what? I ask, bewildered." He took a deep inhale, and I knew what he was talking about because I  could feel my p***y pulsate even at the sound of his voice. My face heated immediately. If I could blush, I would, but thankfully, my skin tone prevented such acts and provided cover for my heated flesh.

"Soon, I will have you screaming and that tint that your sporting will be, looking up at me, but for now, please control your urges; otherwise, I will have to take you in the woods, and I know that's not where you want our first time together to be." the thought of him being between my thighs sent even more delicious things to my centre. Taking a deep breath, I try to calm my libido.  Closing my eyes, I take several breaths.

“Sorry! Stop messing with me. The kids are in the vehicle”. I chastise my wolf out loud because the horny b***h was seriously f*****g with my centrepiece. I mean, we've only known him for what 48 hours maybe less, and she was a literal horndog. She huffs and licks her lips in a seductive way, which makes my inside squirms. Taking another deep breath, I clamp my thighs together and lean my head on the window, trying to ignore my wolf and Zane sexy ass.

A few hours later, the sudden stop of the car causes me to jerk from my slumber, wiping my mouth, hoping that Zane didn't just see me wipe the drool from my mouth. I look around at our surroundings.

"Where are we" we are surrounded by tall pine trees in the middle of nowhere. Something about it looked familiar, but I could place it.

"Xander would like you to come with him, do something vital," he said. The sadness that marred his face tugged at my heart, and I wanted to kill the person who put that look of deep sorrow on his soul. I nodded, and he got out and came around to open my door for me. Telling the kids to stay in the vehicle and the men to watch over the kids they nodded, as he stripped out of his clothes, and I just stared at him.

"Ahh, no, we are not having relations in the wood"i stated and he chuckles,

"No little mate, this is Xander thing so, he will take you." he got undressed and started to shift. I hope he doesn't expect me to shift because I will not. Not in front of all these strangers. Noway.  Once shifted, Xander trodden over to me with his clothes in his mouth. He dropped them at my feet and licked my palm. I ran my hand over his fur, and it was soft as cotton. I just wanted to continuously stroke him. Touching him made Serenity purr. You would think she was a cat. He moves off and lets out a small yelp, I pick up the clothes, and I follow his lead into the dense forest, all the while dreading it all. After all, I only just met him. He could be leading me to my death. As that thought comes to mind, Serenity howls with agitation. I ignored her, rolling my eyes because what did she know? I followed Xander until we came to an obvious river embankment taking in my surroundings. I noticed we were walking toward the kid's mother's makeshift grave, and trepidation and sadness infused my heart. How did he know I wanted to come to this place, and why are we here? A million questions plague my mind all at once, but the most obvious was, what are we doing here?

"Xander, why are you here? How did you know about this place?" I asked the wolf, forgetting for a moment that without Princess, I wasn't able to understand him. s**t. I watched him as he went straight to the grave and licked the stones, and let out a piercing howl that completely breaks my heart. For some reason, this made my wolf sad. I wasn't sure what was going on, but she also howled in my head, and a piece of my heart shipped away again. What was going on here? Xander walked back over to me and bowed his head. I just stared at him in bewilderment and despair whilst he was cutting my heartstrings. The grief in his deep chocolate brown eyes was too much. I couldn't bear the desolation wafting off him. I moved towards the grave and knelt. Resting my hand on the stones that covered her body.

"Hello, again. I'm sorry I haven't been by in so long. I did keep my promise. We kept the name Asher. He's strong and very protective of his sister, of us. Even though he's only five, you would have been so proud. Goddess is the little princess every mother would want for their daughter. You have two amazing kids, and I thank you so much for bringing them to my life, even if it cost you your life. We've adopted a human girl called Nina. She protects them too, and they love her so much it just melts your heart. Like I said there, the best. I want you to know that they're Okay. I will keep my promise and keep them safe, I promised, and I always keep my promise."  I heard Xander shift back to his human Zane as the tears fell freely from my eyes.

"I wish I knew your name to tell them about you and who they are, but I promise I will find out your name and let them know you. I know they miss you, I miss you even though we never met properly, but I imagine you would have been this super cool person. I bet we would have got on perfectly, because how could we not. The kids are proof. I promise I will bring them by soon."

I turned to Zane, looking at me with a confused look on his beautiful face.

"You have some explaining to do'' I told him, and he repeated the same thing back with anger in his tone, which I was not a fan of at all. He looked murderous. Like I just kicked his puppy.

"You first?" he said. I folded my arm across my chest and explained about the kids in full detail, and his face went from pissed off and confused to dejection, grief, and broken-hearted as my tears continued to flow like the river we stood next to. He ran his hand down his face and let out a weird sound.

"Five years ago I came across a scent, I followed it, and it led to a pool of blood, a lot of blood, it had a trail. I followed it to this very spot. It was the scent of our mate." he told me. So you're telling me that those children are my mates' children?" he asked, exasperated. This made Serenity sad, confused and jealous because she was his mate.

"Serenity says you're wrong," I told him.

"I know what we smelt, and I can still smell it now, even more strongly that you're here”. He trailed off. 

“Wait, did you cut yourself when you were with them" I look at him and give him a look as I try to remember.

"Yes, you i***t. Your blood is on the rocks over there, fool" Serenity barks at us.

"Yeah,'' I told him. My blood is on the rocks that cover her body" a small smile crossed his face, and I bristle at him.

    "Their mother dug her nails into my hand while she gave birth and I cut myself self on something sharp. I dragged the kids and body to this stream, and it must have gotten on the rocks." I told him, and he immediately closed the gap between us and grabbed my head, slamming his lips down on mine hard. The electricity that zinged through me made my body go limp. The kiss was hard at first, then turned sensual and soft.

"We found you", he breathed out as he released my lips for air.

                            ***MATE!*** he growls against my lips.

Xander took over for a moment, swallowing her lips  the surge of electricity and arousal it felt was incomparably. I wanted this woman so bad it was hard to breathe. All this time she was alive whilst I was mourning instead of searching for her like I should have. I lost out on five years, because I let my grief and imagination get the best of me. Now I have her in my grasp. There will be no letting go now. I will never leave her side, now that I found her, now that I have her. I gently skimmed my thumb across her cheek and then across her firm supple lips, noticing the beauty mark just on her bottom lip. Making her even cuter, I noticed one in her left eye also.  Taking in every mark, every line, every facet of her face commits it to memory. I wanted it to stamp everything about  her to my mind so may I never forget. I thought I had lost her once but now I have found her, I'm never letting go.  

“Let’s go, there's so many things I want to show you, little mate.” I took her hand in mine and walked her back to the SUVs. Knowing what I know now, I looked at her children in the back and found a new respect for her. Princess smiled at me then her eyes turned cloudy as the white covered her entire eyes and Asher leaned more into her space like one of those dogs who help veterans with their PTSD. As quickly as they changed they returned to their normal colour of ice blue. 

“Their coming” was all she said

“Whose coming” I asked curious to what she saw

“The bad men” Xander stirred inside her statement growling threatening 

retribution for anyone who wants to hurt our, mate. Especially since he seems to have formed some form of bond with the little princess. Closing all doors I head back to the pack, where we would be safe. Taking out my new phone I called my beta who was driving in the SUV in the back. He picked up on the first ring. 

“Alpha?”

“ We may have company soon, stay vigilant. Let me talk to Darren”

“Yes alpha” I heard a shuffle noise and Darren came on the phone. 

“Alpha?”

“Did you find his number”

“Yes Alpha” 

“Forward it to my phone. We can talk about the other thing: when we were on pack land and safe.”

“Yes alpha!” 

My phone chimed a few seconds later with Alpha Derek's information, turning to Star I asked. “I'm taking you to my territory were you will be safe” she goes to disagree but i cut through her distress quickly.

“There is a pack summit coming up in 2 days, I was on my way home to make preparations. Your father  will be there since it's being hosted on his land, but I feel that we should invite the alpha on my territory for you two to meet. That way you won’t feel put out and at home, also I need to introduce you to the pack.”

“What are you talking about, I told you we were on our way to see my father, for protection.” she objects

“Well that's my job as your mate to provide and protect you. You are Luna now. I will do anything to make sure you and  your kids are protected. I understand your father may be a big shot but so am I. I would prefer if you came home with me first and got settled, your father can come to meet you or we can go to him if it's what you really want.” I stated. 

“Let's go to your pack,” Nina said and I smiled. Princess nodded her head vigorously

“Besides, we're much closer to my pack than we are to your fathers pack.” She smiled and nodded her head. I can see her apprehension. I grabbed her hand in mine and brought it to my lips, reassuring her that I meant what I was saying. 

“Serenity seems to trust you and I trust her, so yes let go to you pack home. I’ve never actually been on pack territory before, I've always kept to the human world because it's all I know.” shocking the hell out of my bones. Well f**k this is going to be a shock to her system. 

“ You’ll love the pack, after all you're now their Luna, there are over 250 of us.”

“What, I'm what?” she interjects shockingly.

“Luna! Since he’s the alpha and he's your mate that makes you his Luna, second in line ruler of his wolf pack, like a King and Queen of a particular territory.” Nina explains to her. How is it that the human knows more than my little mate? That is going to be another challenge to get the pack to accept a human into our pack, it's unheard of, unless the rare moments where a pack member is mated to a human which has never happened in my pack. The only time a human is allowed into our world and even then the human gets turned eventually, if they accept the mating. Sigh! Challenge accepted I guess. 

A few miles and hours later I make the turn deep into the forest, then up the mountain to a highest peak, beyond human reach. We  enter pack territory. Pack land consisted of mini lodges and cabins, for pack members. Pulling up to the gates the gatekeepers took one look at us and opened the gates up for us, I drove deeper into the lands until I came to the Main pack house. Where we all will be staying indefinitely. Jumping out I hurriedly moved to her side of the vehicle and opened for her and took her hand. Taking one step at a time, I escorted her into the house. She looked around in amazement or amusement. I wasn't sure. There are a few pack members hanging about as we exit the SUV. 

“This will be your new home, I explained to them. There are three floors, Third floor is my floor and the second will be where you stay, Nina, with Beta and his family. There is two spare bedrooms, take your pick” Nicolas gave me a bemused look 

“Alpha?” he questioned with his eyes. 

“Problem, Beta, she is the daughter of your Luna, therefore an important part of this pack, I expect her to be treated as such”. I say sternly

Ground floor is for Omega and his family, now Darren, you and Alex are now the sole guard of the twins, but they are two young to be on the ground floor away from Star so please pack your things and move to the first floor next to their room. Get the team to help. Thank you”

“Yes . Alpha”

“Wait a minute, you don’t have to do that, we're fine we can all fit in one room.” we all looked at her like she was dim.

“Don’t worry i’ll explain it to her” Nina says and I chuckle at the look of derision . I pull her forward, giving her a tight squeeze, kissing her on the forehead. Let me just show you. I climb the stair with everyone in hand to the second floor to show Nina where she will be staying.  

“Wow” she exclaimed as she entered the room. “I have my own shower, no freaking way. Star if you don’t mate him I will just for that shower. It has jets, freaking jets'' I smiled and chuckled at her perusal of the room. 

“Wait, how does the hot water ratio go, what time is the best time to shower?”

“There's hot water 24hrs, we get hot water from the spring from the mountain, so there is always hot water.” Darren tells her and she squeals even louder. 

“I mean, thank you this is adequate space” she retorts, straightening her back. 

“Ready to see your room, Princess?” I picked up the little one and asked as she nods her head profusely, making me smile. 

Escorting them to the third floor, I showed the twins their room.” We would have to decorate the room for the twins but this viewing was for Star benefit, so she felt comfortable with the arrangement. I know she would want Nina on the same floor but I needed the twins guards next to them at all times. Nina will need her own guard also, I’m just not sure who I can put on it yet. As the thought came to mind Star ask the question

“Why does the twin have guards and Nina does not?”

“She does, I just have to appoint him to her”

“I don’t need a babysitter, I'm surrounded by a million shifters who the hell would be foolish to come for little old me beside their not after me there after the twins” she stated, and Xander bristled at that. 

“right , so where are just across the hall from the twins”. As we stepped into the hall a thrill noise poke at my centre. Sighing, mother. 

“ZANE, MARCELL GREENWOOD'' she roared like we were all deaf and couldn't hear her.  I turned on my heel to face my mother. A slap across my face greeted me as she reached me. 

“Oh dear you leave this pack, to go frolicking in the woods for so long. What kind of alpha are you, your father would be ashamed.” she snapped with her hands on her hips ignoring everyone else around her. 

“Mom?”

“Don’t you dear? Mom, me. I have a good mind to put you across my knee” she spew and Nina snigger drawing her attention to her. Her eyes opened wide and a snarl left her throat as she took a deep inhale. I saw Star wolf coming to the surface ready to defend her kids, growling loud enough to shake the surroundings. Stopping her in her tracks. Mothers growl got lodged in her throat and she turned to face Star wide eyed.

“Zane, what's going on?” she asks, finally lowering her tone.

“Mother, meet Star, my mate and our Luna” I state proudly.

“Mate” a huge smile came over her face replacing the fury and contempt that was surrounded her before. She gave Star a huge hug. I thought she was going to break her. 

“And these are her children '’ this made her eyes bulge swiftly turning around. 

“Everyone please meet me in my office where I can explain only once. Mother, can you ask the cook to make the children something to eat? Thank you. I will be down in a moment ``I told her, sending her off. Eyeing Nicholas for a moment, so that he knows to keep the order. He nods and leads everyone down to the dinning hall. A sigh of relief leaves me. Turning to my mate, I can see she is still a little wary, even more so than before. 

“Don’t worry about her, she was just shocked, we don’t normally entertain humans in this park. Let me show you our bedroom.” her eyebrow rose, and I ignored it leading her into the room. It was a spacious room but before we fully entered the room I noticed something out of sorts. There was a she wolf sprawled out on my bed, ready for whatever f**k session she thinks I need. f**k.

“Welcome home Alpha'' she purred, crawling forward. Star just stood next to me with a smirk on her face. I wasn’t sure what was going through her mind at this point but I was pissed.
