BIRTH Seeing the tiny form that day made the pains seize My cries that had echoed were immediately pacified. I looked at the form with longing. I took note of its form from afar, as I couldn’t wait for that closeness I longed for. My vision was faint, but I struggled to keep it open. I shifted my eyes to the all-so eager look of my mister as he squeezed my shoulders. A sign that told me of how brave I was I was finally able to hold the form It was covered in blood but somehow managed to look heavenly. I felt the tears flow but was too engrossed to brush it off. All the other voices seemed to wane in a distance. All my five senses stared at the form in the face. I felt a slight touch on my fingers and a shrill sound escaped my lips The form touched me The tears became unending The hands on my shoulders never moved away…………. The now big form was ready to move The now big form was ready for its own life Standing on the path that made all these years, I wondered just how much time had passed by. I wondered what would become of me and my instinct if the form left The hand on my shoulder came once more. Looking up, I saw the face of my partner. I knew we both felt these things together, but with a difference For he had always prepared himself for this change. The hands felt reassuring as I turned towards the form on the threshold. I saw the look of happiness on its face and my worries gave way. The hug that came after brought back memories of that day. For I felt the squeeze on my fingers…… but this time it wasn’t faint. Watching the form drifting further away from me, I raised my hands in a bid to wave That form was my child……...
