"And it goes like this, if you love too much then you'll hurt too much and anything in between will always be a lie." -R. M. Drake. "So it's my brother's birthday tomorrow and he's throwing a huge party, would you like to come?" Alexis whispers during Chemistry class. I act like I was thinking about it, when in reality, I know I'm not going there even if she tries to drag me there. "I think I'd rather do homework," I tell her after a while. She gives me a blank look before she pouts, making her green eyes pop out. "Still not going Alex." "You're no fun!" She groans. "You should've known that before we became friends," I tell her jokingly, rolling my eyes. Yup. That's right. We're friends now. Ever since that day in Chemistry class, she's been hanging out with me. Even during lunch, we sit together at the basketball court with Alec. "Come on, pleaaase," she pleads, shaking my arm. I sigh, "you know that's not my crowd." "It's not mine either! I know I'll be bored, I know no one from his college. It's going to be boring without you," she tries to convince me. I give her a look, "not your crowd?" "Okay fine. It's totally my crowd, but I still don't know anyone there!" "I'm sorry Alex, but nope. You can never convince me to go to those deadly parties," I tell her, trying to answer the question from the textbook, but it's so hard with Alexis distracting me. She chuckles, shaking her head, making her ponytail hit her face, "deadly? Come on, it's not that bad. You can take Alec with you." "Alec wouldn't come, you know he has to stay low-key, no one's supposed to know he's here." I tell her, just as the bell rang for lunch. I stand up quickly and gather my things. "We'll meet at the basketball court, I gotta go make a stop at the ladies room," she says, motioning at her smudged lipstick. I roll my eyes, "alright." I make my way to the basketball court after I dropped my stuff in my locker, I find Alec and Alexis already there, talking. Alexis looks like she was begging him to do something and Alec just looks exhausted. "What's up?" I ask when I reach them. "She's been trying to convince me to go to her brother's birthday party," Alec answers, looking annoyed. "You guys are so unfair, you know I don't have any other friends here and I really want to go to that party," she begs, her face was almost in tears making me almost give in. Almost. I know how she is a good actress and has done a lot of plays, so I know those were fake tears. "You know you'll have fun without us, you can easily make friends," I tell her, rolling my eyes. "And I can't even go to the mall! I have to be as quiet as possible, so no paparazzi catches me," Alec says, running his hands through his hair. To say he looks irritated would be an understatement. "You can get a disguise, no one will know it's you," she continues trying. I could see that Alec really did not want to go. "I just remembered you have to tutor me in Spanish tomorrow," I lie, hoping he goes along with it. I was feeling nervous and my hands were sweaty, I couldn't look Alexis in the eye because I felt guilty. "Ah yes! I totally forgot about that. Sorry Lex, we can't make it," he goes along with me, giving me a grateful smile. "You can't tell me you will be tutoring her the whole night," she goes on. Gosh! She can be really persuasive. "Well, i'll be tired after the tutoring, I don't think i'd be able to go to a party after that." "Fine! I give up." She says exasperatedly, throwing her arms in the air. I chuckle before turning to face Alec,"what food did you make for us today?" "Gyro." Yes, it was our thing now. Alec brings food for us and we avoid cafeteria food. Alexis doesn't eat with us though, she says the food has too much calories and she has to keep her figure if she wants to enter the model industry. It's been her dream to become a model, more specifically, a Victoria Secret model. If she tries hard enough, I think she can make it. She had a perfect slim figure, with long legs, and she was very beautiful. We sat, making small talks until lunch was over. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Honey, would you like to accompany me to the mall? I'm going grocery shopping and I will need the company," I hear my mum's voice from downstairs. I look up from my computer screen, "sure. Give me a minute!" I call back, quickly standing up to grab my jacket. I take my phone from the bedside table and slipped into my sneakers. I follow her inside her car and she starts the car, making her way towards the mall. As soon as we reach the mall she walks out of the car and enter the supermarket. She takes out her notebook, where she writes whatever she needed. We were done after an hour and we decided to go to the food court to eat. "I have a night shift today so I'll be coming home late," my mum informs me through her fries. I nod my head, "what time will you be going?" "At nine. Rebecca called in sick at work today, so I'll have to stay the whole night," she answers with an apologetic look. Saturday night was our movie night, we would watch marathons on movies the whole night. It was our mother-daughter bonding night. Just as I was about to reply her, my phone beeped, signalling a message. Alec: I'm staying at the Pearls Executive Hotel, presidential suite. Be there at 6pm for our Spanish lesson ;) I blush at the winking emoji, my lips curled into a huge grin. "It's okay, I'll be at a friend's house," I tell my mum not before I reply him back. Summer :) : Okay. My mum looks excited, her lips curling into a huge grin, mirroring mine, "oh my! What friend? How come you never introduced me to her? Or is it a him?" I roll my eyes, I should've said I was going for tutoring, but I don't like lying to her. "I'll introduce them to you, I'll invite them over one day," I tell her with a smile. I avoided the question about the gender because I know how she would react to that. "So what time are you going there? Do you want me to drop you? I will get the chance to meet this new friend that way," she insists. I chucked my last fry in my mouth before standing up to leave. "I'm going there at six and it's not the same way to the hospital. I'll walk, it's not far from home." She nods as we enter the car, going back home. By the time we reach home it was already 5:30 pm. I decide to take a shower and get ready. After I slipped into my Manchester City jersey and jeans, I wear my converse and made my way downstairs. "Mum i'm leaving!" I shout, slamming the door before she can interrogate me. I walk at the street with my hands in my pocket, it was getting cold and I wish I had worn a jacket or my green sweater. A cold wind passed by making me shiver and a strand of hair fall on my face. I increase my pace when the hotel came into view. It was a five star hotel, it was huge and beautiful. It's creamy walls and unique structure, but the best part, was the swimming pool. It was huge, with glass walls. I've only been here once with my dad when I was twelve. I walk over to the reception desk, a middle aged woman was sitting there, concentrating on the computer screen as she sips her cup of coffee. I clear my throat to get her attention and she looks at me with a friendly smile. "Hey, um. I-I want to go to Alec Armstrong's room. He stays at the presidential suit," I tell her nervously. She looks up at me and gives me a scrutinizing gaze, she frowns before rolling her eyes, "I knew the fans would soon find out where he is staying," she mutters to herself. "Mr. Armstrong requests not to be disturbed, so you can run along now." I frown, crossing my arms across my chest,"I'll have you know that I'm not his fan, I'm his friend. Call him up and you'll see. Tell him it's Summer." She sighs before holding up pieces of paper in her hand to show me,"I'm sorry miss, but I'm really busy and I don't need to be disturbed by you-" "I'm not some crazed fan!" I shout angrily. I take my phone and go through my messages, holding up the screen to show her our conversation. "See? Call him yourself if you don't believe me. If he tells you he doesn't know me then I'll leave." She rolls her eyes but she listens to me and calls his room number. After a few seconds the line clicks and someone answers the phone. "Hello, Mr. Armstrong?" "Sorry, but can you tell Mr. Armstrong that there's some Ms. Summer here claiming that she's his friend." "Oh okay, I'll tell her to wait." She cuts the phone off and gives me an apologetic smile,"Mr. Armstrong's bodyguard is coming to get you, you can sit at the chairs to wait for him." I nod my head before going to sit at one of the chairs. My butt instantly sinks in as I sat on the soft couches. I felt like I could sit there all day. Seriously, I can even sleep here if I could, it was way better than my bed at home. A few minutes later, a tall masculine guy walks into the room. He had light brown hair and the sharpest jawline I've ever seen. His eyes were hidden within the black shades and he had a blue tooth phone attached to his mouth. He wore a black suit and his mouth was set in a straight line. He walks over to me and talks in his deep voice, "Ms. Summer?" "Y-Yes that's me," I reply standing up quickly, he nods his head before walking out of the reception area and to the lift. "S-So where is Alec?" I ask him, when we were standing awkwardly inside the lift. "Busy." He answers shortly. What was up with bodyguards and not talking or smiling? The elevator made a 'ding' sound before it opens and I sigh in relief. The bodyguard scares me. No lie. He leads me towards a set of double doors, with a small label written 'presidential suite'. He rings the doorbell and an old woman opens the door. "Ah! So this is the famous Summer!" She says, grinning toothily. I blush with a small smile on my lips. "U-um yeah," I awkwardly reply. "Come on. Come inside," she welcomes me, slinging my arm and gently pushing me inside. I walk inside the suite and I gape at how beautiful it was. It was large with a living room, with modern white coaches and a big flat screen tv at the centre, behind it was a wall with a big space in the middle showing the kitchen, which was also big, by the way. The walls were white with big windows and grey curtains. "Alec is inside his room, you can go inside, he's playing the guitar. I'm glad he finally found his inspiration back," she says with a smile. "Oh my, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Sarah, his nanny," she goes on, ushering me towards the stairs. I follow her upstairs and just as I stepped on the floor. A beautiful male voice reaches my ears and I had to follow the voice, completely entranced by it. I reach by the door and I could hear him clearly now. His voice, it was so smooth filled with emotion. I can listen to it all day long. They ruin his voice when they keep all the auto tunes. I don't even know if I take your breath away You don't even know my wildest dreams Maybe it's all just chemistry I knock on the door. I need to know if it was actually his voice, and if it was, I wanted to see him singing. He stops singing and I hear him grunt, "who is it?" "Um, Summer." "Come in." I enter his bedroom, and I find him seated on the queen sized bed, shirtless. Yes, shirtless. Can I tell you that abs you see on tv and on pictures are nothing compared to seeing them in the flesh? I gape as my eyes wandered through his body. He was holding his guitar, causing the muscles on his arms to flex, he was sitting but I could still see his defined abs, although it was almost hidden by his guitar. "Done checking me out?" He says cockily with a smirk. I blush crimson and I try to hide my face as I bent down. I hear him chuckle, "you're so shy, it's cute." Which just made me blush even more. I was dying from embarrassment here! "Why do you let them ruin your voice with all those fake music stuffs?" I ask him, trying to change the subject. "Auto tunes?" He asks with a raised brow. I nod my head, sitting beside him on his bed. "Because it's what would sell most according to my record company." "I think you'd sell more with your actual voice." He grins, "not everyone is into that now days." "Trust me, it would sell. I'd be the first one to buy your album if you use your natural voice," I tell him sincerely, bumping my shoulder with his. "Can you continue the song you were singing? I want to hear you sing." He clears his throat before adjusting his guitar. He starts to play the guitar. His beautiful voice fills in the room and I stare at him as he starts singing. But I know I, kind of maybe really do like you Maybe me and you, we can try to Do this love something Maybe there's something And I know you, kind of maybe really do like me Maybe I could be your baby We should start fronting Maybe there's something As he was singing these words I felt butterflies in my stomach and I couldn't help but feel like he was saying those words to me. I blush at that stupid thought, trying to erase it away from my brain. He was looking at me as he sang, his lips in a light smile. I couldn't help but notice how good he looks, and how perfect his face was. I quickly avert my attention to his hand as he strums the guitar, I couldn't hold the eye contact for so long. "Why are you blushing?" He asks with a small smile. I shake my head, not trusting myself to talk. He chuckles, tucking the stray hair that had fallen on my face, in my ear which just made my blush even more. I'm pretty sure I look like a tomato right now. "You hungry?" He suddenly asks, standing up so I can see him and all his glorious abs. I try hard not to look at his defined six packs and V line. "Y-yeah." Great! The stammering is back. "Okay, let me put a shirt on first and we'll go downstairs to see what Sarah has cooked." I nod my head, looking everywhere but at him as he shuffled through his closet to find a t shirt to wear. After finally wearing his t-shirt, we both walk downstairs to the kitchen. Sarah was standing on the kitchen counter pouring herself a glass of water. "Hey kiddos! I made dinner," she says happily, motioning her hands on the table. There was pasta and meatballs and lasagne. There was enough food to feed two families. "But we're only four! The food is so much," I exclaim, counting the bodyguard and Sarah. "Four?" "Um the bodyguard and you?" "Oh we already ate honey!" She says with a chuckle. "Well why is there a lot of food then?" I ask as I sat down opposite Alec, who was already eating. "I don't know really, but we eat the left overs tomorrow, so no worries about it being wasted," she says with a grin on her face. I serve myself some lasagne and dug in. The food was delicious, I rubbed my belly before standing up and collecting all the dirty dishes. "Oh no Summer dear, let me do that for you, you can go and play along with Alec," Sarah says, taking the dirty plates from my hand. "No it's fine, I can help." I protest, taking our glasses instead. She sighs but let me help her wash the dishes. When we were done, I joined Alec at the living room. I sit beside him on the comfortable couch, "what are you watching?" "Prison break." That was my favourite show, I can't believe he watches it. I used to watch it all the time with my dad. "What? I love that show. I didn't think anybody watches it." "You kidding? It's one of my favourites," he answers with a chuckle. I ended up watching Channing Tatum in all his hotness glory until I fell asleep.
