"One man is your soulmate, the other is your destroyer." -The Witches Of The East End.
"Morning dear, your phone has been ringing for a while now," I hear a voice say, waking me up from my slumber. I groan as I stretched my arms, slowly opening my eyes to adjust to the light in the room. As soon as my eyes opened completely, I stand up abruptly.
The room wasn't like my room, it was big and plain. The walls were plain white instead of the sky blue color in my bedroom. There was a glass desk with a grey chair instead of my messy white cardboard desk. I gap in shock at the unfamiliar surrounding until my eyes landed on an old lady smiling brightly at me.
Sarah.
"W-where am I?" I ask.
She chuckles as she hands me my phone,"at Alec's hotel room, you slept on the couch last night and Alec didn't want to wake you up, so he carried you to the extra room."
"I did what?!" I start to panic and immediately unlocked my phone to check the time.
11:10 am
12 missed calls from mum. 5 messages from mum.
My heart was beating against my chest as I call my mum, I didn't want to read the messages. I've never slept over at anyone's place so I can imagine how worried she was. After the third ring, my mum picks up the phone. I swallow before speaking, "hey mum."
"Where were you last night?!" Her voice cuts through the speakers loudly, making me flinch.
"I told you I went to my friend's place, we were watching movies and I slept without realizing it," I inform her, silently praying she doesn't get mad. I've never done this before, especially since I didn't have any friends before last week.
"Oh okay, you should've at least let me know about your whereabouts. I was worried sick when I didn't see you this morning. Anyway, Diana invited me over for lunch today so I won't be home until in the evening," she says, I could hear her walking and closing a door, so I assume she was leaving right now.
"Alright."
"Take care hunny, love you."
"Love you too mum."
I hang up the phone and sigh in relief. Thank god my mum was understanding.
"Well do you want to have breakfast?" Sarah asks me, making me jump in surprise. I didn't notice she was still here. My stomach rumbles in response and I gave her a small nod.
"I made pancakes," she says in a sing-song voice, walking out of the room. I followed her and we made our way towards the kitchen. Alec was sitting on the kitchen counter shirtless as he takes a bite from his pancake, his attention fixated on his phone screen as he rapidly types with one hand.
Does he have something against wearing a shirt?
I try not to look at him as I sat on one of the stool, propping my elbows on the counter,"morning."
He looks up from his phone to give me a smile,"morning, sleeping beauty."
I blush at the name he calls me but I quickly hid it with my hair. I take a piece of pancake from the plate and place it on my plate, covering it with strawberry syrup before taking a huge bite from it.
I sigh in contentment, I haven't had a good breakfast in a long time now. My mum always makes eggs for breakfast so I end up going to school without eating any breakfast.
"So what should we do today?" Alec asks me, finally putting his phone away.
"Who says i'm staying over?" I challenge him, quirking an eyebrow. He pouts standing up from the counter,"come on, do you know how bored I get in here? I don't get how I will be able to live without going outside!"
"Well, how about we go shopping for your disguise? That way, you can go out whenever you want to," I suggest, remembering what Alexis had told us on Friday when she was convincing us to go to that party. I wonder how that party went.
He grins like a kid and surprises me when he lunges towards me and wraps me in a tight hug.
"That's a great idea," he tells me, but I was concentrating on how his hard chest was pressed on me, I could feel the rhythm of his heartbeat beating softly, my hands were on his abs. Yes. On his freaking abs! I pulled back the urge to run my hands through them. Not to mention he smelt so good, like vanilla and aftershave.
"I-it's not my idea, originally. So I think you should thank Alexis," I answer him, my voice muffled through his tight squeeze. He ruffles my hair before he lets me go and I let out a huge breath.
"You've sucked out all of the oxygen from my lungs," I mutter. He gives me a half smile before he walks out of the kitchen,"you liked it."
I blush at his reply but didn't bother protesting. One, because I actually did like it and two, I can't lie.
I had to wait for about half an hour before Alec shows up wearing a white v-neck t shirt and sweatpants, he has a beanie on his head with Ray Bans covering his beautiful golden brown eyes.
"Nice disguise," I tell him with a smirk.
"Yeah but it's not good enough," he answers, removing his sunglasses so I could see his golden brown eyes again.
That's true, the disguise is good enough for people not to notice, I mean, not everyone can ever think that a celebrity, such as Alec Armstrong would be here in Sitka, but there are overly obsessed fans who can definitely notice after giving him a second glance, to which i'm sure they will. I mean, let's face it, the guy is hot even in his disguise, the girls would definitely pay attention to him.
I scrunch my nose, pulling my glasses up the bridge of my nose, they have a tendency to fall down my nose a little, especially when I read. "I guess so, but that's why we're going shopping anyway," I tell him, standing up so we could leave. He takes his car keys and phone and follows me out of his suite.
My mouth dropped open when I spot the white Rolls Roys, we would definitely attract attention with that car.
"I don't think you get the whole 'i'm not a celebrity' idea," I tell him, once I recover from my shock. I don't think i've seen a Rolls Roys on the road here before, it would definitely grab attention.
"It was either this or the limo," he states, getting inside the car. I carefully open the door and enter inside, I was even afraid to move for the fear of ruining something. I'm pretty sure only the steering wheel costs more than my allowance for a whole year, and that's just the steering wheel.
"I think you should find another ride apart from a Rolls Royce," I tell him, looking outside the window at the people on the sidewalk. We had everyone's attention that's for sure. Some people were even taking pictures!
"I know, i'll buy a new car to use in this town," he says, turning left when I motioned with my hand for him to do so. He was taking me to my place first, I had to bath and change obviously. I was just hoping my mum won't be home today because she would definitely make a huge fuss about this.
The two story house that I call my home finally came into view and I instruct Alec to park at the driveway. We got out of the car and enter inside the house.
I breathe a sigh of relief when I realize mum wasn't home. I take Alec to the living room for him to wait for me before I jump up the stairs, two at a time to go to my room. As soon I enter my room, I rummage through my closet for something to wear. The weather was good today, it wasn't as cold but it wasn't that warm either. I finally settled with a plain black t-shirt and tracksuit pants, and I head to the bathroom to do all the necessary things.
Once I was done I grab my black hair tie and quickly tie my hair into a rough bun, I grab my glasses, putting them on and quickly walked down the stairs, two at a time.
"Are you sure you bathed?" He asks when I reach the living room. I felt self conscious when he said that, wondering if I smelled.
"Yes I did."
"No offense or anything, but I thought i'd have to wait for like an hour or something for you to get ready, my exes took at least two hours," he informs me, getting up from the couch as we made our way to his car.
"None taken. Well when my mum goes out she takes just as long, it has something to do with makeup and all, she would even try out hairstyles for half an hour for work," I tell him, earning a small chuckle from him.
He drove all the way to the mall with us making small talks while I gave him directions. We reach the mall, and I swiftly get out of the car, walking over to the entrance of the mall with Alec beside me.
"Mh so first, let's go check out some clothes," I tell him, making my way to the H&M store.
"I don't think that's necessary though," he informs me, looking at his own clothing style.
"You don't get it, the way you dress will make girls look at you, which will grab their attention, and if they're really your fans, they'll notice even under the disguise, because let's face it, unless you dress up as an old man, I think they would give you a second glance," I try to explain to him, looking at a maroon drafted button down shirt.
"I'm not wearing that," he says, scrunching his nose,"did you just admit that i'm attractive, Summer?" He asks with a smirk, making me blush.
"Arrogant."
He shrugs not denying it as he looks at a leather jacket,"Alec, we're making you look different, stop shopping for something you would wear on a normal basis."
I grab the button down shirt and a pair of faded jeans and hand it to him, "go try it on."
"But they are horrible," he complains childishly. I had to control the urge to roll my eyes as I made him carry the outfit and go to the changing room before I started looking for another piece of clothing.
I find a sleeveless brown sweater with a short sleeved dress shirt with grey dress pants, I carry the outfit and go towards the changing room,"are you done Alec? There's another outfit waiting for you, come out so I can see you."
"No way am I letting anyone see me in this ugly outfit," Alec argues stubbornly. I take a deep breath before I bang on the door,"stop being so stubborn, no one knows it's you anyway, now get out."
"Fine," he finally agrees, I hear the lock turning and a few seconds later, a grumpy Alec comes out of the door, still managing to look hot in the outfit he claims to be ugly.
"What's so ugly about the outfit?" I ask him, smiling.
"The outfit is ugly, I just happen to make it look good," he says arrogantly, motioning to his body. I mean the outfit wasn't that bad, but he did manage to pull it off way better than when most guys wear it, but i'll never admit it in front of him.
"Whatever, here's the next outfit," I tell him, as I handed him the sweater outfit. He looks at it and his face paled,"now you just hate me," he whines.
I roll my eyes, "Alec, let's not do this again and just go wear that outfit."
"This," he exclaims, holding the clothes,"is not an outfit, this is.. is.. a thing! Even I won't make it look good!"
"You're lucky I didn't give you the suspenders," I tell him, rolling my eyes. He eyes widen at what I said and he gives me back the clothes,"i'm not wearing that. I don't want people to laugh at me. It's a disguise, not a joke."
"You do know that there are people who actually dress like that right?" I inform him, practically shoving him towards the changing room.
He stops and turns to face me,"do they hate themselves?"
I roll my eyes before I gave him the clothes back,"think about it, no one would know that it's Alec Armstrong wearing that, so your reputation won't be ruined."
"I still like to look good!" He exclaims, raising his hands up in emphasis. I groan, I was so frustrated at this point, he is so stubborn!
"Alec," I say slowly, pinching the bridge of my nose,"will you please enter the effing changing room and try on that outfit."
He sighs but he finally listens to me, coming out a few seconds later, pouting,"this is the last outfit I would wear."
"You look adorable though," I tease him, pinching his cheeks, he groans before he goes back to the changing room, he clearly doesn't want to be seen in that outfit any longer.
A few outfits later, he pays up for his new wardrobe and we head out to the costume store.
"You could wear glasses or lenses to hide your eyes," I say, as I spot the section with different glasses. I take a pair of glasses with a huge red frame and hand it over to him for him to try it out.
"Let's just go with the lenses," he says, handing them back to me. I roll my eyes but didn't bother arguing with him again and placed them back. I spot a wig section and immediately grabbed Alec's arm pulling him with me.
I used to play dress up with my dad every time, I always used to dress up as a soldier or a mermaid, while he dresses up as a king. I smile at the memory as I looked at a blonde wig.
I chuckle before trying it on.
"Remove the glasses and wear pompoms and you'll look like the ultimate cheerleader," Alec jokes, as he takes a blue wig and tries it on. He makes funny faces which made me laugh.
"Right because cheerleaders wear tracks with t-shirts when they go shopping," I reply sarcastically, rolling my eyes. He shrugs before he spots a mustache and he tries it on. I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous he looks with it,"we are definitely buying that," I exclaim, after I was done laughing. He pouts but I could see his golden brown eyes twinkling with amusement.
I spot a pair of pompoms at the back and I snicker as I went to fetch them, I walk back to where Alec was standing and jumped in front of him, waving my hands. "Do I look like a cheerleader now," I joke, with a grin on my face. He observes me amusedly,"remove the glasses first."
I remove my glasses and place them on the seat beside us and repeated my hand gestures at him, he didn't look at me amusedly this time, he gave me a scrutinizing gaze, as if he was observing me.
"You have pretty eyes," he says, making my cheeks turn bright pink, and my supposedly pretty grey eyes widen. I couldn't look at him anymore and I stare down at my slippers and my ugly toe nails.
He takes a small step towards me, making me even more uncomfortable and I start fidgeting, nervously chewing on my lip. He raises his hands to my hair, I look up at him questioningly, wondering what he was about to do. He removes the wig and lets it fall down on the floor.
He studies my face closely for a while, before he leans forward, making my heart speed faster, he breath tickles my ear before he whispers, "beautiful."
