Chapter 8

          “What are you doing?” Brain asks me walking into my bedroom. He sits down next to me on my bed as I look over some of the work stuff that’s on the tablet. I look at him with a smile because I’m a little bit excited.

“I’m a bit excited about this coming up meeting.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s in Scotland! I’ve never been there and I’ve wanted to visit that country sometime in my life.”

“Um…about that.” He says running his hand through his hair.

“Don’t you dare tell me I’m not coming?”

“No you’re coming but it’s not one of those meetings.” I look back at the tablet and look more into it. Brian said nothing as I look. I read a few emails and did some research on the web.

“That’s okay Brian. I told you I don’t mind that kind of work. Maybe I can help you.” Brian nods his head looking at me still doing some research. As Brian gets up from the bed to use the bathroom I gasp.

“What?” He says turning around to me.

“Use the bathroom.” I tell him looking further into what I found. I scan a few articles and pictures until I find the one I’m looking for. I see a picture of the man Brian is going to have the meeting with and behind him is a man I recognize. I remembered all the men that r***d me that night at my fathers. I place the tablet down watching Brian come back into the room. “I’m coming with you during the meeting.”

“Why?” He asks. I hand him the tablet with the man’s picture blown up. “Yeah that’s the man I’ll be doing business with.”

“Do you see the man behind him?”

“Yeah, what about him?”

“I never knew the names of the men that r***d me but I surly remember their faces.” I see Brian’s eyes turn black. “We need to make a deal with this man that won’t back fire on us.” I tell him placing a hand on his arm. “The people here love foreign clothes. So maybe something with owning a percentage of the clothing stores and he has full range of the ideas and design his own clothes?” I suggest to him. Brian looks at me wide eyed.

“That’s perfect. I know just the stores he’ll go for.” He hugs me tightly pushing me down. He climbs over me and we make out. I feel the tablet slip to my side and I ignored it. I feel his tongue trying to gain access to mine and I let him in. His tongue explores my mouth and fights with mine. His hand came up to my breast gently caressing me. I wanted him as my hands traveled down and up his back. It’s only been a week sense I’ve been out of the hospital and I still have a bit of discomfort and he knows. Just as I’m loving what Brian is doing to me he pulls away.

“You make me go crazy woman.” He tells me breathing heavily. I giggle and lean up giving him a small peck on his lips.

“Now the meeting isn’t for another week. What do we do between now and then? Everything is up to date at all the shops and nothing has been sent to me on my end for the other stuff.”

“Do you want to go to dinner with me?” He snuggles his face into my neck making me laugh as his stubble tickled me.

“Fancy?” I ask

“Yes.” He tells me getting up off of me. “I’ll give you an hour to get ready then I’m coming in here to kidnap you.”

“Oh I like the sound of that.” I tell him biting the bottom of my lip.

“No!” He tells me knowing I’m flirting with him. He leaves the room and I get up and make my way to the closet. I open the doors looking through the dresses. I find the perfect red dress. It has a small coat that will cover my scars. It comes down to my knees and shows off my curves. I walk over to the bed placing it down on it, I go to the vanity in the bathroom that Brian installed for me as he saw me sitting in the sink one day doing my makeup. He wasn’t too happy because I could fall back or fall trying to get out of it.

I do my makeup lightly and put my hair up in braids on the side that link up into pigtails. Brian loves it when my hair is in pigtails. I didn’t know why for the longest time until he told me why. As I think about it I see my checks turn red. I put a little bit more blush on so it’s not so noticeable.

I walk into the bedroom with just bra and panties ready to put my dress on but then I remember I need shoes. I walk back to the closet bending over searching for the perfect shoes. I found 2 but I didn’t know which one to wear. I figured I would try them on with the dress and see which one looks good. Just as I was bending back up I feel something press against my ass. I try to move but then I feel hands around my hips.

“You can’t go looking like this.” Brian whispers in my ear leaning against my back.

“Well I guess we’ll just have to have dinner in here then.” I tell him. I feel myself get aroused as his c**k swelled against my ass. He slowly lets me bend back up turning me around. He pins me against the wall next to the closet and makes out with me. He reaches up to my breasts rubbing them and pressing them. He pushes harder against my lips making me wet. He grabs my thighs lifting me up to make me wrap my legs around his waist but I breathe in sharp and hard.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m still healing Brian. I’m sorry.” I tell him as he puts me back down.

“No don't be sorry. It’s my fault. I lost control of myself smelling your arousal. I’m the one that should have known better.” I laugh walking back to my bed putting my dress on. I slip the small coat on Brian comes over to me placing the thick heeled black shoes in front of me.

“Thank you.” I look at myself one more time in the mirror fixing the coat to hide some of the scars on my chest. Brian takes my hand turning me toward him.

“You’re stunning. Are you ready?” I blush and nod yes to him. He pulls me with our hands still holding each other out of the room and down the hallway. “Wait.” Brian tells me. I stop and without warning he picks me up bridal style and carries me down the stairs and out to the car. He places me down so he can open the door for me. I chuckle getting into my seat. I buckle up and Brian slides into his seat starting the engine.

We make it to one of his fancy restaurants and we make our way in. The host and waiters recognize him and takes us to a table slightly seclude from other customers. We order our food and drinks and talk about a few thing waiting for our food to show.

The waiter brings some wine to us and pours it into our glasses. I love the way Brian looks at me making me feel so loved and wanted. I hope someday I can make him proud. Our food arrive I got a pasta and Brian got a burger. After we get done Brian gets up stepping away leaving me alone at the table. No one was aloud to come to me unless they were filling up my glass. Brian didn’t want one of those monsters coming for me. Most of the people that work here are part of the pack. The humans were told the rules in another way.

Brian comes back with another man behind him. I wasn’t for sure what was going on but I didn’t say anything. I see some of the pack members sneaking a peek around corners. I had a feeling something was up but I didn’t know what. Brian gets down on one knee next to me and grabs my hand. I had a weird feeling about this.

“Myrkur Sable would you do the honor of becoming my Mrs. Knight?” He tells me handing me a box. He opens it to reveal a beautiful deep red stone on a black ring. My tears run down my face and I cover my mouth nodding my head yes. So many emotions are running through my head right now I don’t know how to process them. I’m so happy about this but at the same time I know what this means. We stand up after he places the ring on my finger and hug. Clapping bursts out around us and I feel my face burn. We look around and people from our pack are standing around us clapping and crying.

“Okay guys enough. Back to work.” The man that came over with Brian clapped his hands while speaking and made everyone leave. That man came up to me. “Thank you Luna for coming to this restaurant. Thank you Alpha for doing this amazing moment here I wish you both a happy, a loving, and a wonderful life together.” He bows and leaves us to ourselves.

“How long have you been planning this?” I ask him raising one of my eye brows.

“When you were in the hospital. I want to say during the 2nd week when you were unconscious.”

“Why the red?”

“Because of the sacrifices you have done for this pack and I. The black is because you are the light to my darkness. Your pale skin under the black looks good to me.” He says grabbing my hand. “Are you ready to get out of here?” I smile and stand up following him out of the building and into the car.

We make it back to the mansion and some of the other pack members congratulate us on the way to my bedroom. We both make it to my room and I walk into the closet taking my shoes off. Brian comes in putting his arms around my waist hugging me from behind. “What do you want to do tonight?” He whispers into my ear.

“It’s a full moon tonight. Do you think we can go outside for a walk? Maybe a walk with my wolf?” I ask raising an eye brow. I don’t know what it is but I love his wolf and it made me feel at peace with myself.

“Yes if that’s what you want to do.”

“Yes I do.”

“Okay go get changed and I’ll meet you out back.” We kiss each other and he leaves my room. I grab a shirt and jeans to change into. I throw the dress into the hamper and grabbing my normal walking shoes. I sat on the edge of my bed putting the shoes on and take a step out of the bedroom door way. Half way down the hall a door is slightly open and I hear someone arguing with someone else. I stop at the door and listen.

“Yes I know sir. Yes. Well it’s hard because the Alpha is always with her. I have yet to find a time when she’s alone. Yes I know sir. I won’t fail. I’ll get her for you. We don’t need a human Luna.”

I move away from the door and walk further away. I stop at the top of the stairs and look back. I see the guy come out of the room and stop to look at me. I don’t remember him but I need to act cool.

“Hello.” I say waving at him. He walks next to me bowing.

“Good evening Luna.” He tells me.

“I’m sorry but I forgot your name.”

“Oh, it’s Adden, Luna.”

“Thank you Adden. How have you been doing?” He motions for me to walk down the stairs in front of him I was worried but I knew there were other wolves nearby. I don’t think he’ll do anything yet.

“I’m good. How about you Luna?”

“I’m still healing but I do have to say I’m doing lot better. I was about to take a walk here in a few.” We make it down to the 1st floor and see Brian in another room talking to someone. I really hope he can hear me.

“Are you going alone?” Adden asks me with eagerness behind his voice.

“I believe so. The Alpha has work to do so I’ll be walking around the mansion. I might go to the garden or the stream. I’m not for sure yet. Why you ask?”

“Oh I was worried you’re my Luna I didn’t want you to left alone.”

“Adden technically I’m never alone. I have the pack.” I say smiling and walking away from him. Brian comes up to me and I stand on my tippy toes so kiss him on the cheek. “Stay at a distance.” I lightly whisper in his ear. Brian gives me a hug. “You have fun at work Alpha. I’ll go for my walk now.” I tell him squeezing his arm.

“I’ll be back soon.” He tells me. I watch Brian go outside from the front door and I turn noticing that Adden is gone. I make my way out the back door. I walk to the edge of the tree line and could see Brian’s eyes in the dark. I nod my head toward him and walk toward the stream not too far from the mansion. The garden is on the far east side of the mansion and the stream flowed into it. I walk along the side of the stream following it to the garden. I see Adden coming up from right. I pretend not to see him.

“Oh Adden!” I say putting a hand to my chest acting like I was scared. My heart was already racing knowing what he wants to do.

“I’m sorry Luna, I just didn’t like the idea of you being alone.”

“Oh it’s fine Adden. You go ahead and have fun or do whatever you need to do.” Adden grabs a hold of my wrist and pulls me toward him. “Adden what are you doing?”

“Look you and I both know I don’t like you. I knew you stood by the door and heard me. I smelled your scent by the door.” He yanks on my wrist that ends up hurting me.

“Who do you work for?” I say trying to get his hand off my wrist.

“Your father is paying me to bring you back to him.” I stand my ground to him and slap his face.

“To bad for you. Now LET GO!!” I yell asserting myself. I felt the clawing feeling again and watched the shocked Adden let me go and stand frozen in place. I take a few steps back and other wolves show up with Brian. “You heard him Alpha, he works for my father. Sense I’m not officially the Luna this is up to you.” I turn and walk away going through the wolves.

I hear the wolves growling and tearing into Adden. I put my fist up to my chest. I felt my chest tighten as I realize I was always right, I can never trust anyone not even family. I see a single tree the moon shines on in the middle of the forest. I walk over sitting down looking up at the moon. “Why me? What is wrong with me?” I say wiping tears away from my face. As I look back up to the moon and see 2 eyes glowing back at me in front of me by the trees. The feeling I got from the wolf as it walks toward me was comfort. I’m not scared or anything. I’ve never seen a wolf so beautiful before other than Brian. The wolf’s fur shines in the moon light, white paws leading up its body to a silver tone. I didn’t know this wolf but it seems like it knows me. The wolf comes up to my face rubbing it head against my face. I reach up and pet the side of its neck. The wolf backs up walking away. I didn’t know what to do until it looks back at me acting like it wants me to follow. I get up off the ground and follow the wolf.

We walk a while into the forest. I kept my hand on its back to guide me through the darkness of the forest. Soon I cover my eyes straining to look in front of me as the light shines toward me. I’m finally able to focus and look around in awe. Beautiful willow trees spaced apart with a slow moving stream in between, dark green grass everywhere not a single brown spot. The moon and stars shined over everything making me forget the wolf standing next to me.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?”

“What?” I say in shock looking at the wolf.

“I said, ‘it’s beautiful isn’t it’?” The wolf says looking at me sitting down.

“Oh wow you can talk! Oh…yes this place it’s like out of a fantasy story.” The wolf laughs and shakes its head.

“I brought you here to talk to you. I’m the moon goddess’s mate, I’m like the moon god”

“Where’s the moon goddess at?” I say with wide eyes.

“She couldn’t come do to you not believing in her.”

“It’s not like I chose not to, I just learned about all this. Yes my mother talked about her but what was I supposed to do?” I tell him placing my arms across my chest.

“We both understand. I’m sorry I should have said because you don’t know her as well and that you are half human. That’s why I’m talking to you. I’m half wolf and half human.”

“What do you mean by I’m half human?”

“Your mother was a rare wolf breed which she gave to you as well. You’re half human and half wolf. When you are not raised around the wolf knowledge then you lose your wolf and ability to become one.” I look down sad moving my foot across the grass. “Don’t worry, the moon goddess grants you a pass. She feels like if you were raised as one of us the things that happened to you wouldn’t have happened. As she put it ‘none of my children should ever go through what you went through’.” I look at the wolf and smile.

“So I’ll be able to become a wolf?”

“Yes not now though. It’ll happen but in due time. For now be you and have fun.”

“Thank you so much.” I tell him wrapping my arms around his neck. I hear thunder above us and I stepped back away from him. I bow to him apologizing. He laughs a bit as we both understood who that was.

“Now you cannot say anything to anyone about this.” He says getting up and walking away. He stops real quick looking back at me. “Oh and the moon goddess said she’ll look the other way for your revenge.” I smile at him and the further he walks away I feel like my body and mind are slipping back away from me. I guess it was time for me to go. I love the way this place felt and looked. I close my eyes accepting the pull to take me home.
