Chapter 9

           Brian and I are getting our stuff ready for Scotland. It has been 6 days sense Adden was dealt with. Sense that night waking up in my bed with Brian sleeping next to me my mind has been heavy. I couldn’t remember much besides seeing a silver wolf. I mentioned it to Brian but he said no one in the pack has that kind of fur so I must have dreamt it. It has bugged me but I’ve let it go. I’m too excited about this trip to think about anything else.

“Don’t forget to bring a few lounge cloths. We might be there for a week but only 2 or 3 of the days we’ll be working.” Brian tells me as I place some work clothes into my suit case.

“Should I bring play clothes?” I ask Brian, he turns toward me raising one of his eye bows. “If we plan to go out, eat, or something like that.”

“Oh yes bring a few.” He says chuckling at me. Sometimes the stuff he thinks about is what gets him in trouble mostly. I smile placing a few more dresses and shoes into the suit case. I grab some normal clothes and night shirts placing it in the top part of the suit case. “We have a separate bag to but toiletries in.” Brian says going into the bathroom. I finish gathering my stuff and lay back on the bed with my feet hanging off.

“Brian!” I say squealing as he picks my feet up and push them toward me in the air. He tickles my feet making me laugh and squirm. He moves his hands to my ankles holding on to them looking down at me with a cheesy smile on his face. “What?” I ask him with happy tears in my eyes from laughing.

“I love your laugh.” He says. I feel my cheeks burning.

“Brian you need to stop doing that.”

“Stop doing what.”

“Making me feel all these feelings for you.” Brian puts my legs down and leans between my legs laying on top off me. His hands on either side of my head holding him up so he can look at me.

“I want you to have feeling for me.”

“Brian I already did. I don’t think I can handle any more on top of those.” I can’t believe I told him that. I look away from his eyes feeling my whole face burn now. I’m digging myself further into my own grave now. Brian shifts surprising me. He leans into my neck with his face smelling me. I always thought it was weird at first until I got used to it and how he explained what a mate does for each other. I wrap my arms around his neck using one of my hands to run through his hair. I feel him smile against my neck. “Brian is it too late to tell you I love you?” He shakes his no slightly in my neck making me giggle feeling his stubble against my skin. I squeeze him and he acts like I’m choking him. I laugh evil like and squeeze harder he struggles for a bit and goes limp.

“Oh darn. I should have waited until after we got married to kill you. Then everything would go to me to fill the void.” I say laughing as Brian sits up and looks at me shocked.

“Would you do that?”

“Maybe.” I say biting my index finger’s nail looking seductive like. Brian places his hands on my cheeks and squeezes my face.

“You need to stop that.” He says kissing me.

“Brain I would never do anything to hurt you on purpose. That I promise to you.” I tell him as he looks into my eyes.

“Same.” He presses his lips against mine gently making me open my lips just enough for his tongue to snake in and play with mine. Brian leans back down sliding to the side of me while we still make out. He slowly brings his hand from my waist up my arm slowly sliding his finger on the back of my neck up through my hair. His other arm wraps under me as his hand holds me against my back pushing me closer to him. I place one hand on his chest unbuttoning his shirt and my other one on the side of his face. I move my lips faster biting the bottom of his lip as his lets out a small moan. I climb on top of him straddling his waist. I push him down so he’s lying flat on his back. I pull away from him going for his buttons on his shirt. I was able to get three with one hand. I finished the others in no time. Brian brings a hand to my face and I look at his face. He smiles moving forward sitting up making me sit on his lap. He grabs the bottom of my shirt slowly pulling it up off my head. Just as I look back into his eyes he looks down to my breasts. His thumb traces my new scar and he kisses my neck making me arch my back sitting up a bit more. Brian holds my back with his other hand to keep me from falling. He kisses down my collar bone leaving light kisses over the top of my breasts I feel my bra come undone from the back.

“ALPHA!!!” Someone screams coming into the room. We both look shocked as one of Brian’s warriors comes in covered in blood. I grab my bra to hold it against me. I get off Brian and he gets up standing in front of me.

“Why are you covered in blood? Why did you just barge in like that?” Brian says with irritation in his voice.

“I’m sorry Alpha and Luna.” The warrior says bowing. “We couldn’t get through to you via mind link so I was sent from the fighting to get you. Rouges have broken through our borders and are now fighting us. There are at least 50 rouges so far.”

As the warrior is talking I fix my bra and put my shirt back on. I walk over to the night stand grabbing my gun that I asked Brian for just in case like now. I place it on the back side of my pants and moved my shirt over it. I place another magazine in my pocket. I walk to Brian as he is mind linking the others.

“Myr do you remember the storage room out back?” Brian asks me. I nod my head. “Go there. The women and the children are there waiting for you.” I run out the door and stop.

“Kick their asses and come back to me.” I tell him turning around and running down the hallway. When I make it to the bottom floor Brian runs down with his warrior and out the front doors. I run through a few rooms to get to the back door. Just before I get to the door I hear someone crying. I follow the sound and I’m in horror when I make it to the crying. A young woman is on her knees begging at a wolf that I’m guessing is a rouge. I come a little closer and I see another wolf in the rouges jaws barely breathing. I step back grabbing my gun. I pull the top back slowly letting it go back as I feel the bullet slide gently into the barrel. I walk back to the room and hold my gun out in front of me. The wolf looks at me and I pull on the trigger aimed at his head. The bullet went through his head just above his eyes. He drops the wolf in his mouth and falls over. I put my gun on safety placing it back on my back.

“Look I got him we need to get out of here.” I say picking the wolf up over my back pulling on his front paws over my back. “Can you walk?”

“Yes Luna.” The woman gets up following me out of the room and out the back door. I look around and see no one. I can hear fighting in the distance but it’s in the opposite direction of where I need to go. I make my way practically dragging the wolf’s back legs behind me. I walk as fast as I can to the storage shed. The woman following me opens the door for me and we walk in. The room is dark and then the lights come on.

“Follow me.” Doc says disappearing behind a book shelf. I make it to the book shelf and look in. It’s dark but has just enough lighting so I can see the stairs that curve downward. I walk down the stairs and the wolf starts moving.

“Bring him over here and help me put him on the table.” Doc says walking over to a metal table. Doc helps me getting him off of my back and I help him get the wolf on the table. “Thank you Luna. The women and children are in the room past that door. Sarah you need to go in there as well. I have my nurses coming here as we speak to help your husband.” I grab Sarah’s hand gently knowing she didn’t want to leave her husband. I guide her through the door and I see women and children of all ages and even the elderly sitting down on the ground. I take Sarah to the wall where she can sit. I look around and see a child crying all alone. I walk over to the child and squat down.

“Is everything okay little one?” I ask placing a hand on the child’s shoulder. The kid pulls his head away from his hands looking at me. He jumps onto me wrapping his arms around my neck crying on my chest.

“My mommy, I couldn’t find her, we got separated on the way here.” I try to calm the child down and rub his back.

“I’ll go and look for your mommy but you have to promise me to be strong for me and help anyone in here that needs help. Can you do that for me?” The kid stops crying wiping his tears away and nods his head.

“Thank you Luna. I’ll do my best.” I nod letting him go and I stand up walking out of the room. I see Doc and 2 nurses.

“Is he good?” I ask Doc as he writes a few things down on some paper. Doc looks at me from what he’s doing.

“Yes he’s stable and healing as we speak.”

“Good. Thank you Doc.” I start to walk to the stairs and Doc stops me.

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to help. There’s a mother still out there as her son is in here. I don’t want anyone in the pack to get hurt if I can help.”

“I’ll tell the Alpha if you’re not back in 30 minutes.”

“Deal.” I say walking away and up the stairs. I push the book shelf open and peak in. I see nothing but darkness. I push the shelf further and the lights come on, walk to the storage door opening it. I shut it behind me looking both directions and run toward the pack house.

I look through the back windows and see nothing. I walk around the outside of the mansion toward the garden area. That would be the next stop from the smaller family houses in that direction. I’m hoping she’s in the area. I make it to the garden and see a woman curled up next to a bush shaking. I get down to her level placing a hand on her hand. She slowly looks up me and her eyes go wide looking at me.

“You have my son’s scent on you.” She says grabbing my hand with her other hand.

“Yes your son is in the storage. Please go there now.”

“There’s a rouge in here.” She whispers. I pull the gun out of the back of my pants and take the safety off. I hold her hand and tell her to follow me. I walk back the direction I came from and hear something to my right behind us. I pull the woman forward pushing her out of the garden entrance.

“Go to your son he needs you.” I tell her letting her hand go turning around drawing my gun in time to see a very large rouge standing right behind me. I have not looked away from the rouge’s eyes. I see them change color. I guess he was mind liking someone. I had a bad feeling that this wolf is the Alpha of the rouges. He is a large wolf and he showed no fear what’s so ever toward the gun.

The wolf backs up but I didn’t flinch or move. I kept my aim at his head. He transforms into a human and stands in front of me smiling. I know the man standing in front of me. I hated him so much. He was another 1 on my list to kill.

“It’s been a long time sweet ass.” He says looking me up and down. “I’m guessing you are still bitter about Jason taking you and not me?”

“Shut the f**k up.”

“I heard that Jason blew up.” He says with a smile crossing his arms over his chest. A smaller wolf comes in view crouching down toward the bastard in from of me. The wolf drops something at his feet backing up backwards until it’s out of sight. The bastard bends down grabbing the object and shakes it. I see that it’s shorts. He slides it up and I never took my eyes off of his head. I wanted him to suffer. I know he’s strong so I might have to shoot him in the knee or straight to the brain.

“I’m guessing sense he’s dead you’re up for the taking.”

“No I’m not. I belong to no one but my mate.”

“I don’t know. I’m sure after he finds out what we did…

“He already knows. He even walked in on Jason torturing me just before I killed him.” I tell him cutting him off. I know Brian loves me for me, knowing exactly what happened to me and I will never give Brian up but I know we need to talk about it. It still bothers me that he hasn’t said anything about it yet.

“So you are the one killing all of us off then. The rumors are true; we turned you into a killer.” He says rubbing his chin.

“Yes you guys did. I will kill for my survival and I will kill for the ones I love.”

“Does your mate know who you are?” He asks.

“What do you mean by that?”

“That gave me the answer I needed.” He says taking a step toward me. I didn’t want to freak out but at the same time I started feel sick remembering what he did to me. He takes another step.

“I’m warning you come closer and I’ll kill you.” I warn him. He takes a step closer and I aim for his left knee quickly firing and shattering his knee cap.

“You b***h!!” He screams landing on the shattered knee. I watch him get up and I shoot him in the other knee. He screams again falling to his knees.

“Oh did I forget to mention I have silver bullets and that I can aim?”

“You will not get away from this!” I see a wolf running toward me from left out of the trees. I turn and shoot, making the wolf drop dead. I turn in front shooting 3 more times watching 3 wolves drop behind the bastard.

“You better tell your wolves to stop or they’ll die.” I tell him turning around and shooting two more wolfs. They both drop a few feet away from me. I can hear wolves in the distance howling as I turn back toward the bastard. I shoot the wolves on either side of me. I change my mag and point it to the bastard again. “I mean it. Tell them to back down!” I yell at him. I see his face in pain turning with anger. I didn’t see his eyes change so I shoot him in his left shoulder. He screams reaching up with his other hand. I shoot his right shoulder and he falls on his back.

“Myr!!” I didn’t look away hearing Brian behind me. I walk over to the bastard looking down at him with gun pointed to his face.

“Now tell me what you meant about who I am?”

 “Go to hell bitch.” He says leaning up spiting at my feet. I fire 3 bullets into his face quickly lifting my gun up and pointing it towards another large wolf standing out in the field. That wolf howls and the rouges run off away from the trees near me toward him. The large wolf bows and leaves with the rest of the rouges. I relax my arm placing the gun behind me again. I turn and look at Brian and all the wolves around him. Brian stood with a shock but proud look on his face. I smile and realize I got to make sure that woman made it to her son safely. I take off running through the wolves. They part for me and hear Brian come up next to me.

“What are you doing?” He asks.

“I need to check on that woman I was helping. I promised her son I would find her. I want to make sure she’s safe.”

“Damn woman.” Brain says with a proud smile on his face.

“What?” I look at him not liking the idea of him not taking things seriously. Brian shakes his head and runs closer to me. Just as I feel the burn in my legs I slow down to a jog breathing heavily making it to the door as Brian opens it. “Thank you.” I say out of breath. I walk in and go to the book shelf. I push it to the side and the lights come on. I look back and Brian is standing in the room behind me telling the wolves to check the area one more time. I walk down the stairs coming across Doc as I make it to the last step.

“Oh Luna he found you.” Doc says he looks behind me.

“Yes I came here to make sure that woman made it safely.” I tell him.

“Yes she’s in the other room.”

“Thank you.” I tell him walking passed him. I open the door and walk in seeing everyone look up at me. Everyone stands and bows toward me.

“Thank you Luna for saving us.” Sarah says to me.

“But I didn’t do anything.” I say in shock.

“As I was running up to you I mind linked everyone in the pack what you were doing and how you stopped the raid.” Brian says in my ear.

“You can do that?” I shrieked a bit toward Brian. He nods his head and look down at my feet feeling the bottom of my shirt being tugged at. A woman comes forward grabbing the boy.

“It’s okay.” I tell her raising a hand to stop her. “What can I do for you?” I ask the little boy.

“Thank you for finding my mommy.” He jumps into my chest hugging me. I hug him back feeling a tear in the corner of my eye.

“You’re welcome. I promised I’ll do my best to find her.” I look at his mother and she’s wiping the tears from her eyes. I stand up holding the boy lightly crying in my shoulder. “Everyone please stand and look at me.” Some of the people stand straight from the bowing and others look at my direction with their heads bowing. “I might only be human but Alpha Brian is my mate and I’ll do my best to be the Luna this pack needs. I’ll do my best to protect my new family, even though I’m not officially the Luna of this pack. I’ll do whatever in my power to protect and love every single one of you.” I bow with the boy in my arms still and stood back up. They clap and holler in approval of my little speech. I bent down placing the boy back on his feet.

“Thank you.” He tells me.

“No thank you for giving me the courage to fight.” He smiles wiping the tears from his cheeks turning around and running to his mother.

“Everyone it is safe now to go back to your homes.” Brian says in his Alpha tone. Brian grabs my waist moving us to the side so the others can get by. He leans down to my ear. “You were something earlier you know that.”

“Oh really?”

“Yes and I wanted to mate with you right then and there in front of every one.” My eyes go wide and I didn’t know what to say. I know I wanted to be with him but I was afraid something might happen. I should wait until after my father is dealt with but it seems like Brian wants to help me after what happened with me and Jason. How can he still love me after seeing what he was doing to me? We still haven’t talked about it. I want to but I don’t know how to start a conversation about that. “Hey I didn’t mean to make you feel uncomfortable?” Brian says bringing me back to reality.

“I know, you didn’t I was just shocked and there’s something I want to talk to about before we…do that.” Feeling my face burn it was hard to say mate in front of him. His face turns to excitement and wiggles his eye brows at me. I pull away when the last pack member leaves. “Let’s go to our room.” I tell him looking back at him with a smile. I run up the stairs and I can hear Brain chasing after me. I bump into Doc I almost fall but he catches me wrapping his arms around my waist. A loud growl is heard from behind us.

“Are you alright Luna?” Doc says ignoring Brian’s growling threats.

“Yes thank you Doc.” Doc leans me back up and lets go of me. I look back at Brian and his eyes are black. I walk up to Brian getting upset with him for acting like that. “Brian enough of this he helped me from falling. We need to go to our…” Before I could finish and place my hand on my chest Brian swings his arm at me with enough force to make me fly and I hit the wall about 4 ft away. I try to catch myself but my face hits the wall I can feel my lip bust and taste a sweet but irony flavor in my mouth. I land on the floor placing my hand to my mouth I look at my hand as I pull back and the amount of blood in my hand made me realize that it wasn’t just a busted lip. I cover my mouth standing up. I look back at Brian and he’s still angry at Doc. He’s walking towards Doc pinning him into a corner. I look around and see a 2 by 4 laying against the wall. I grab it holding it up over my head ready to swing it against Brian.

I swing and hit Brian against the side of his head. He tumbles a little to the side catching himself against the metal table. He shakes his head a bit looking at Doc.  I throw the wood to the side and cover my mouth so Brian didn’t see it. I know sometimes the human side can lose control over the wolf. The wolf will go out of control when there mate is being touched in a way the wolf doesn’t like. He had no right to act like this though. Doc helped me from falling and Brian is being a big baby.

“Are you alright Luna?” Doc asks straightening up and slowly walks past Brian. Brian stands up looking and me. His eyes go wide pushing by Doc to get to me. His eyes were still dark and I felt scared by it. I thought I got used to it but after what he just did I didn’t know what to do. As Brian reaches for me and I back up. His face turns to anger walking closer to me. I step back hitting my back against the wall.

“Stop! Leave me ALONE!” I place my hand to my chest feeling that clawing and something wanting to come out. I look at Brian as he’s stiffens and backs away. Doc stops in his tracks wide eyed. I slide down the wall feeling my skin crawl like I’m about to explode. I wrap my arms around my knees hiding my face against my knees. “What’s wrong with me?” I ask but only a muffle comes out. I feel a hesitant hand on my shoulder.

“Let’s go to my office.” I nod my head not wanting to get up but I know I need to because I’m still bleeding. I slowly get up pushing Doc’s hands away glancing at Brian so he doesn’t flip out again. Doc and I walk past Brian that’s still standing stiff staring at me.

We get outside and some of the warriors turn to look at me. I look at the ground not for sure what to say. I didn’t want them to think anything bad about their Alpha. I was about to try to say something but Doc opens his mouth.

“Go down and check on the Alpha. His wolf lost control for a bit.” I follow Doc into the pack house and into his office. “Lay down on the bed.” Doc says as we enter his office. I hop onto the bed and lean back. He cleans my mouth and shakes his head.

“What?” I ask him.

“You are going to have to get stitches again.” I sigh hard and close my eyes as he turns around to get the numbing medicine. I need to talk to Brian about what happened with Jason but I don’t know now. Maybe I should stay here while he goes to Scotland. He needs some time alone I think but I also need to go to take care of my business. I don’t know what to do. So many things running in my head making me confused I didn’t even notice that Doc is done with my lip. I hop off the chair and head for the door. I stop and turn to look at Doc.

“Thank you, and I’m sorry about Brian’s attitude.” I tell him. He shakes his head not looking at me.

“I should be apologizing to you. I should have stopped him before you did anything. It is my fault. I placed my hand on you.”

“No you’re not at fault. I will deal with Brian myself.” I say smiling at Doc. He nods his head toward me as I walk out of his office.
