Chapter 36 standing her ground

SUMMERS POV

As I step out of the lift door I see Josh look up.

"Where is he?" I ask.

"Oh um in a meeting in the conference room, you can wait in." Josh starts to say but I hold my hand up to stop him, "no i won't wait and don't bother warning him either Josh because nothing is going to save his ass right now!" I say.

I storm off to the conference room with Josh following.

"Josh I suggest you go back trust me you don't want to be caught in the cross fire of this" I say.

But Josh still walks behind me not knowing what to say.

I open the conference room door and see around 25 women and men staring at me Sean is at the head of the table.

"SEAN KING WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME! I SWEAR YOU BETTER TELL ME THIS SECOND BEFORE I BEAT IT OUT OF YA ASS!" I shout.

What the hell Summer can't you see I'm in a meeting" Sean says.

"Yeah, can't you see I'm here with our daughter? And seriously pissed off! So you know why I'm pissed off? Well I will tell you I just received a rather interesting parcel, a torn wedding dress with writing all over it indicating you did something which lead to more threats against me! So I don't care about your meeting right now, you can deal with this right now " I say.

I hear" oh mys" and "gasps" with "my god" from People around the room. Sean goes wide eyed at me.

"Summer I didn't do anything but let me finish this meeting, then I will be with you go wait in my office" Sean says.

"You better deal with it or so help me god I will make your life hell since I have some crazy person trying to destroy my life! I just wanted to enjoy being a new mum but no look at what happened! You said you would fix it but clearly you can't even deal with that! I won't be waiting in your office like a good little housewife because I'm not one! Me and Skylar are going home! You can fix your mess. I'm done being targeted by someone who wants you! "Then I turn around walking away while crying.

SEAN'S POV

" What are you doing just standing there go follow the mother of your baby and make sure she is okay, couldn't you see her cry" the lady across the room for finance department says.

"What crying? are you sure she just seemed angry" I say.

"Definitely crying the second she turned from your sight I saw tears start to fall down her face sir." someone else says but I didn't quite see who said it as I was staring at the door.

"Crap, okay we will finish this meeting tomorrow" I announce before running out of the door.

I'm lucky enough to catch up to Summer half way down the corridor since I ran.

"Summer" I say wrapping a arm around her and Skylar gently to stop Summer from walking.

"Go back to your meeting" she snaps.

"No, not gonna happen" I say sliding the baby bag off her arm to carry it myself.

"Well it seems your more worried about your meeting while you clearly landed Shan in the hospital not caring the consequences it will cause me" Summer says wiping tears away from her face. Then Skylar starts to cry.

"Come on let's go to my office you clearly can't go anywhere like this plus Skylar is crying" I say taking Summers hand in mine.

"She just needs a bottle, it's already made in the bag" Summer says walking into the staff room which is closer than my office. She sits on one of the sofas and starts to get Skylar out of the baby sling. While I get the bottle out of the bag.

"Give it here" Summer says holding out her hand for the bottle.

I hand it over then take a seat next to Summer on the sofa.

Josh then walks in.

"Sir, I'm sorry, I tried to stop Summer" he starts to say.

"It's fine just give us a moment please and make sure no one else come in here" I say inturpting him.

"Of course" josh says before hurrying to leave the staff room.

"Why didn't you ring me?" I ask.

"Ring you what for you to deny it! No i know what your like you down play it but this isn't to be taken lightly, you said you would fix it yet you put her in the hospital didn't you!" Summer says.

"No i didn't but she did get a warning from concerned friends" Sean says.

"Yeah on your say so no doubt! Now look what's happened she warned once she is recovered she will come for me, for taking her family business and having her put in the hospital. And written on a torn up wedding dress what's that about? See what you did?" summer says starting to cry again.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know she would do that don't worry I will fix it I promise" I say wiping away Summers tears.

"You better, I can't deal with it. I just want to enjoy being a mum is that to much to ask from everyone?" Summer says.

"No, it's not and you will I swear, I will make it my life Misson to make sure you enjoy motherhood for the rest of your life. You and Skylar happiness is all that matters to me" I say making sure Summer is looking me in the eyes as I gently hold her chin up to see I mean every word. I then kiss her on the cheek before wrapping my arm around her shoulder. Summer rest her head against my body slightly as she continues to feed Skylar. But she doesn't say anything else.

"When did my dad leave you?" I ask.

"After the health visitor appointment" Summer says.

"Okay do you want a drink? Or something to eat its not far off from dinner time?" I say

"Don't worry, I don't plan on staying long once Skylar is sorted we will be out of your way and you can get back to work, you can go back now if you wish" Summer says

Your such a stubborn women, I can't help thinking to myself. "No summer, I'm done with work today and I believe you said I could see Skylar after work therefore I'm all yours and Skylars now. so how about a cuppa there is no need to rush?" I say

"Okay, I suppose a cuppa will wake me up anyway" she replys while sitting up straighter so I can get up.

"Okay, I will make you a cuppa, are you feeling tired?" I ask.

"Only a little but I'm sure I will survive though." She says as Skylar seems to be finishing off her bottle.

"Okay well I can wind and change Skylars nappy while you enjoy your drink if you like?" I say

"Okay, actually I need to use the bathroom so that's a good idea" Summer says giving it some thought.

"You should of said, I could of feed Skylar while you used the bathroom isn't that what team work is about?" I ask

"Well yes, but it's not like I'm desperate for the toilet it's just on the list of things to do really" she replys.

"And what else is on your things to do?" I ask.

"Finish up here, get home, finish cleaning the bathroom which I half left done to come here, sort some dinner out, change the bedding then have a shower all between seeing to Skylar before finally going to sleep" Summer said running off her list while I just stare open mouthed.

"That's quite abit what else did you do today?" I ask.

"Well after your dad left I cleaned the kitchen and made sure all of Skylars bottles where sterilised before I made a start on cleaning the bathroom. That's about it you know what else we did today" summer says as I finish making her cuppa.

"Oh, well you have had a busy day, I can help with everything else when I go back with you, how about that?" I say placing the cuppa on the table.

"Okay, here take summer she needs winding now and I need to use the bathroom like i said." Summer says

I take Skylar while laughing at summer I'm pretty sure she is desperate but won't admit it.

"It's not funny, it's just human nature" Summer shouts at me as she runs out the door.

"I know" I shout back but not sure if she heard me or not.

SUMMERS POV

After finishing my drink Sean helped me settle Skylar in the car. He even held the umbrella and changing bag so we wouldn't get wet going to the car from the building. Then he followed us in his car to the house. We have just pulled up. As I got out the door I threw my keys to one of the security guards, who was fast thinking in catching them. Good reflexes I thought to myself.

"Open the door please, I don't want Skylar getting wet or to cold." I say

"Okay Miss" He replys.

As I open the door to get Skylar out Sean pulls up and is out of his car as I wrap Skylar into a blanket.

"Let me take the changing bag and umbrella again" Sean says.

"Okay sure it's where you left it" I say. Sean quickly grabs it while I use my body to shield Skylar from the rain as my back gets soaked from the rain. Such a typical winters day I think to myself.

Sean runs around the car with the umbrella up "here let's quickly get in" he says. With that I quickly join Sean under the umbrella and we both use the umbrella and our body's to shield Skylar from the brutal rain that's really giving it some now.

Once we get indoors I can tell both me and Sean are soaked from the rain while Skylar is completely dry and still looks warm and cosy while asleep to my relief.

"Do you still have some clothes here or did you take them all?" I ask Sean while walking into the front room to put Skylar into the mosebasket.

"I took them all, but I can send one of the security guards to my house to grab some for me it's no problem" he says.

"Okay while you do that I'm going to quickly get changed before I finish cleaning the bathroom" I say going to walk out the front room. But Sean quickly takes my hand in his. I look up with a questioninh eye. "What else do you need?" I ask.

"Um, nothing I was going to say let me cook dinner while you finish your cleaning, I would do it but you know what I'm like I do it wrong then you yell at me about it. remember when I used toilet cleaner to clean the mirrors, I don't think I should repeat that stuff again" Sean says chuckling.

"Yeah, true and the kitchen is full of food if you really want to cook then feel free to." I say. With that Sean let's go of my hand and I quickly dash up the stairs to get these wet clothes off.

I decided to wear my beauty and the beast strappy pj top with matching long pj bottoms. Then went to the bathroom to continue cleaning it. It didn't take long to clean the sink, toilet, mirror and sweep the floor. I then headed to my bedroom and change the bedding, I decided on putting the pink roses bedding set on, then I sprayed the bedroom with winter spice room spritz which Smells like winter. Nice and fresh it always makes me feelcosy.

As I walk downstairs I couldn't help but inhale the smell coming from the kitchen. Smells like pork and veg yummy I think. As I enter the kitchen I see Sean in grey jogging bottoms and a white Superdry t-shirt draining veg over the sink.

"It smells good" I say and Sean jumps out of sink lucky enough he didn't drop the food or burn himself. "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you." I say.

"It's okay, and dinner is nearly finished, I cooked pork chops, boiled potatos with carrots and sweed mixed together and some broccoli is that okay?" He asks while starting to mash up the carrots and sweed.

"Sounds good as well as smells yummy to me" I say walking to the fridge to grab a bottle of water. "Do you want a drink?" I ask.

"It's okay, I've got a smoothie here I had the security guard grab it along with my clothes." Sean says.

"Okay, I will get out of your hair and take a seat in the front room" I say walking out of the kitchen.

I sat on the sofa the nearest seat to the kitchen as I simply couldn't be bothered to walk the few extra steps to my chair.

"Summer, summer" Sean says as I feel Sean gentlely smooth my hand..

"Huh," I say sleeply opening my eyes. Sean just smiles at me then says, "you fell asleep so quickly in the space of a few minutes, dinner is ready eat then go up to bed for some sleep okay?."

"Yeah" I say blinking trying to focus and force myself to wake up abit. I didn't even realise I fell asleep. Sean quickly passed me a plate with my dinner on. "Thanks" is all I mustered up to say while sitting up more straight.

"It's alright" Sean says taking a seat next to me with his own dinner.

"You put something on the TV if you want" I suggest before starting to eat my food.

"Do you want to watch anything?" Sean asks me.

"Not really you can choose something" I say. Sean ends up putting on some football match its between Chelsea and Liverpool although Chelsea seems to be winning with the score 3-1 and there's still 20 minutes left of the match. I quickly finish my dinner then take my plate out. As I walk back into the front room Sean stands up and walks to me. "No you can turn around" he says turning me around.

"What are you on about?" I say confused.

"Off to bed! your tired, go on" he whispers in my ear.

"Fine but wake me up before you go, I will just sleep a hour 2 max" I say starting to walk out the door.

"Okay just get some sleep women" he says laughing. With that I head straight to bed, not even caring I'm not having my shower first now. I just need some sleep and I fall asleep as soon as I lay down.
