I Want My Love Back

Valda chose Pablo over Dan.

Pablo looked at the leaving car with a sad gaze. He is very proud of his granddaughter but when he thinks about how much this little one has to suffer because of her parents his heartache for her. He sighed and turned to go back inside the house. He went back to the study room.

From the time Pablo and Rija left, Dan was occupied with his thoughts. From the time he met Rija, he really liked her and had planned to make her his granddaughter-in-law but he did not directly make up his mind. The reason he hired Rija at Miller's garment was to observe her and know more about her personality, he did not think that Rija can do much at work as she is the little princess of the Taylor family. All he wanted to make sure was is she really was the right choice to be his granddaughter-in-law. To his surprise, Rija not only proved that she is the best choice for being his granddaughter-in-law, but she also proved how capable she is. It was not just Mr. Smith's words on which he concluded this, he had secretly given the task to his trusted people to keep an eye on Rija and report her every move to him. By their reports he got to know Rija is a workaholic, she spent all her time working, even after going back home she bearly went out to party and most of the time she went out for party she would go with her girl-friends and get back home before midnight. She even does not have a boyfriend. Dan would not mind if Rija had any ex-boyfriend as he is an open-minded person and his own grandchildren have relationships but to her surprise, this girl never had any boyfriend and didn't even try to find one. Such a girl is rare to find, although he knows his grandson is not worthy of such a girl, how can he miss her. He had become more determined to make her his granddaughter-in-law. He will make sure that the brat becomes worthy of her.

Pablo pushed open the door with a grumpy face and invited Dan to dinner, "let’s go, dinner must be ready.".

Dan raised his eyebrows, "Old man are you inviting me for my last meal.".

"Cut the crap, Valda must have set the tables and food, we better not be late.”, Pablo got annoyed.

“Ahhh! You’re right, we must not be late. How can I make the lady who helped me win wait ? Come let's go.”, replied Dan while getting up.

"Stop showing off Mister. No matter who she helps, that lady still belongs to me.", Pablo said with pride.

Dan, Pablo, and Valda were classmates and friends. The whole city knows about it. Their story was still famous. Dan had a crush on Valda in college, he even made his parent talk to her parents about their marriage but Valda's parents rejected the proposal by saying Valda did not agree to it. Dan did not get disappointed, he proposed to her public. His proposal was the top talk for three years. Not just because it was grand and captured by all of the news channels but also because at the same time Pablo also confessed his feeling to Valda. Pablo's proposal was not as grand as Dan's, when he saw Dan proposing to Valda he became anxious and quickly confessed his love for her in a fear that he may lose her. People were curiously waiting for who would Valda choose, by the way, Dan proposed to her people thought Valda will for sure choose him after all girls loved grand proposals. but in the end to everyone's surprise Valda chose Pablo over Dan.

Dan was heartbroken for a few months and decided to break all ties with Pablo and Valda. But Valda and Pablo both did not give up their friendship with Dan and tried every way to make him forget about it and stay befriended with them. When Dan saw their sincerity, he stopped making a fuss about it and even helped Pablo and Valda in arranging their wedding. During this time Valda's best friend Maria confessed her feeling for Dan to him and guess what Dan happily accepted her love. Both couples married on the same day and same place.

"ha ... ha ... ha ... yeah she is all yours buddy. Don't worry I won't fight with you for her I have my own wife at home and guess what I am more happier with her than you are with Valda. At least she has never backstabbed me.", Dan teased him.

Pablo's mouth twitched, " You want to have dinner or not.".

Dan saw Pablo's expression and knew this man is trying hard to not beat him if it was any other day he would have kept teasing him but today he can't make him unhappy. After all, he has to ask for his granddaughter from him.

"Fine Mr. Taylor I won't bother you anymore. Let's go for dinner. Your wife will be angry if food got old.", Dan tried to ease the situation.

"Hmmm", Pablo hmmed and went out, Dan shook his head while laughing lightly and followed Pablo.

Pablo and Dan both came inside the dining table while they were talking about the current social affairs.

Valda saw them coming and ordered the staff to start serving the dishes.

Pablo and Dan sat at the table and kept chatting.

Valda who had been ignored by them was not ok with it.

“You both just stop these foolish talks of yours and enjoy the food quietly.”, Valda interrupted them.

Pablo was still angry with Valda because of the chess game he did not look at her and kept talking to Dan. Dan understood Pablo was showing tantrums to Valda in the hope she will try to coax him. Dan was also cleared that if he did not remind Valda to do it, she won’t bother to do it. So, he coughed to attract her attention, “Ahem.”. Valda did not look at her and kept ordering the staff to serve soup to them.

“Hu .. Hu .. Hu .. “, he coughed loudly.

“ Dan do you have a bad throat”, Valda asked him with concern then looked at one of the maids and ordered, “ Serve him warm honey water, quickly”.

“Yes Madam”, Maid replied respectfully and left.

Dan slapped his forehead, then looked at Valda and called her, “ Ahem Valda.”.

“Hmmm”, Valda looked at him.

Dan quickly used his eyes to hint at her while saying, “ Actually I do have a bad throat thank you.”.

Valda saw him using his eyes to indicate something to her, she understood what he was trying to say. She looked at her husband and thought she should end it otherwise this old man will keep a grumpy face for a week.

“Ahem Honey, the weather is getting cold. I specially asked the kitchen staff to prepare this soup for you. Have a taste and tell me, do you like it.”, Valda said in a sweet voice.

“I’m not hungry.”, when Pablo saw his wife trying to coax him, he was happy but did not show it and continued showing tantrums.

“ How can you say that I had been running back and forth, ordering the staff to make dinner, especially for you. And you are saying you are not hungry. Were my all afford were in vain.”, Valda said pitifully and forcefully squeezed a tiny tear from her eyes.

Dan covered his face to hide his uncontrollable laughter when he saw how Valda was using her tears on Pablo.

Pablo saw Valda crying and panicked, he loves Valda so much so how can he let her cry, “Ah Honey, I was just kidding I am really hungry. Tell me what is for dinner.”.

When Dan saw Pablo forgetting all about the chess game and trying hard to coax Valda, he laughed loudly, he could not control himself anymore.

“As always Wife is always right.”, Dan commented while laughing.

Pablo shoot daggers through his gaze at Dan, “Of course, my wife is always right.”, then looked at Valda gently, “Honey, I will eat whatever you asked them to prepare after all you’re the boss.”.

Valda quickly wiped her tears and with a sweet smile she replied, “Ok, then let’s begin.”.

Pablo, Dan and Valda started eating, but Valda felt something is missing. She took a minute to think, then when she realized what was missing, she asked, “Where is Rija? Look at me how can I forget her. You two stop eating let her come first.”. Then she turned to a servant and was about to order him to call Rija but before she could, Pablo said, “She went back to her private villa, honey.”.

“What? And you let her go?”, Valda became angry.

“What else I can do? You know her she.”, Pablo said helplessly.

Of course, she knows that Rija knows how she can make them do what she wants, she sighed, “You should have stopped her for dinner at least.”.

“I did, I asked her to at least stay for dinner, but she said that she wasn’t hungry.”, Pablo replied.

“And you let her starve herself.”, Valda said with a grumpy face.

“How can I let her do that. I have sent Nanny Rose with her. And instructed her to make sure she eats before going to bed.”, Pablo quickly replied.
