"Devil's Trap”
It was as if the trial at the Inquisition had now turned into a complete Devil's Trap, from which there was no survival. Because after Maria's body was thrust into the water with a spear, it sank to a bit of a bottom, and in this case it was decided that she could not be a witch. But for about 3 minutes, her whole body was underwater with her head and she couldn't breathe for exactly 3 minutes. How long can a person live without breathing? 3, 4, 5 minutes? This varied according to the person and the amount of breath she held but it was quite a long time for a frail woman like Maria.
