I What?

James and Skylar walk into the conference room, where everyone else is already gathered. The two seats at the head of the table are empty for them. As they take their seats, their eyes scan those already seated at the table. Sadie smiles, "Good morning. We are gathered here to finish the translation of the Bestiary binding. Tabitha had arrived back to the council manor and has agreed to help us." All eyes turned towards Taina. She stood, "Thank you, Sadie. The parts of the Bestiary that aren't in the Elemental  Ancient language are written in a language that only the gods and goddesses used before taking their rightful thrones. I had only come across this language when I was in Peru." She paused and smiled at Dylan.  Dylan laughed, "We always talked about going to Peru where we believed the gods and goddesses lived millions of years ago." Sadie reached over and took Dylan's hand in hers. Then she stated, "Please proceed without flirting with my husband." Taina rolled her eyes, "As I was saying, I found this language only in Peru in the depths of the catacombs they have uncovered. I studied it for six months before I was able to translate it and learn the language." Skylar sighed, "Well, what does it say?" "It says; 'You have only just begun the journey you are on, don't waste time on the small things because there is no time to spare. Your foolishness will lead to the separation of your twins. To reunite them, you must hurry on your way. Before you know it, time will be more important than you think.' The next part is a little more confusing to me. 'To find your daughter, you must find all of the volumes of the Lupinomicon'. I was under the impression that there was only one," Taina translated and wondered.  James sat forward, "There is only one. We believe that it is broken into sections or chapters, and that's what the translation is trying to say."  "Well, at least we know which one of our children we will be separated from now. I just wish we knew the why," Skylar growled frustratedly.  Taina nodded, "Well, it was written long before she was even born; there is nothing that can be done to change it. However, we can make sure that the twins are watched more closely to see if we can identify who separates them." Sadie nods, "Jerrika, Abby, Mitch, and Dalton can take turns watching them throughout the night. We will make sure they are always with us during the day. I wish that the binding gave us more details."  "It says to locate the next book to find out more. That doesn't tell us what the next book is, though, or where to find it," James states angrily.  Dylan finally speaks up for the first time, "No, it doesn't, but we aren't going to find what we are looking for hanging around here. Mom and Dad have already looked at our journey's itinerary. That is the main reason we came here. They have provided us with newer updated maps. We will plan to leave in the morning at first light." "Well, I am going with you. You need me to translate the bindings as you find them," Taina spoke up snobbishly.  Sadie smirked, "You don't need to go. We can text or email you pictures to translate."  "It would be faster if I were there. You want to keep your niece safe. You will listen to me," Taina bit back.  "There is no reason to argue. We need her to go, Sadie. Please let the past go, and let's just move forward for Mel's sake," Skylar said as she stood.  Dylan rubbed the back of his neck, "Taina, before we go, you need to explain to them about the rest of your powers."  "Why? I don't think they really want to know about them," Taina stated.  "Tabitha, please tell them about the rest of your powers," Eliza stated.  Taina rolled her eyes, "I read people and can tell what their powers are and if they are a good person. I can detect who their mates are and if they really love them or just want to be with their fated mate. I have some powers that I would rather not talk about. I have only used them a couple of times and don't know how to explain them."  Sadie asked in shock, "What do you mean you can tell about our powers and if we are good? Like you see auroras?" "Not really, so when I first met you, I knew you were confused about who you were and wanted to act like you were not educated. When you realized that Dylan was your mate, you dropped that act. I know that you have a force field you put up when you feel your loved ones are in danger. Sometimes you have it up and do not even know it. It is up now, except as you grow accustomed to those around you, you make it go further. No one can enter or leave it unless you feel that they are safe to you and those around you. However, it doesn't affect me. I can come and go as I please," Taina said matter factly.  "What do you mean by it is up?" Sadie asked, confused.  Taina shrugged, "I don't know how to explain it. I don't know how your power works. I can only tell that you are using it. You have the same powers as Skylar as well. You can freeze and burn things at will. Your force field or protection field is the same. You use it at will. Skylar is a healer. She heals those that are hurt. Sometimes, she doesn't know that she is doing it. When I arrived, I had some profound cuts from a fight, and she healed them without even knowing I was present."  Skylar nodded, "You must have gotten here in the middle of the night. I woke up around 2 this morning, weak and sick to my stomach, which is how I always feel after healing someone. I was confused as to why I felt that way."  "See, you healed me in your sleep and were completely unaware. You haven't figured out how to control it. You can heal people within a certain range of you. You healed Jerrika and helped her become real. She was a minion to be deposed of, but you made her into a human," Taina smiled.  Dylan nodded, "I have another power as well. I can become invisible. It has taken me a very long time to learn to control it. My elemental powers have come naturally to me."  James shook his head, "Does everyone have another power? I mean one that's not elemental."  "No, not everyone. I am sorry to tell you that you don't," Taina said with a frown.  "Oh," was all James could say.  Skylar decided she needed to head upstairs to take care of the twins so Beth and Becky could help in the kitchen.
