Four - My Boss Is, Uh...

Calian smiled as he watch her reaction, and when Julie noticed that, she immediately looked away. She was already mentally panicking.

"You made a decision again without my knowledge grandma" He said.

"You are taking so long, she might be bored so I hired her, besides I like her, so what?"

Calian shook his head as a knock was heard followed by a woman.

"There's your nurse ma, you better go now so you could rest" Calian said.

"Fine, but don't you dare kick her out! She's hired!" She reminded.

Calian nodded. "Yes ma, very clear"

The old woman bid goodbye to Julie, she watched her until they finally left. That's when Julies heart feels like it's going to come out of her body because of so much nervous, she flinched when he faced her.

Her composture was broken down, she can't keep her calmness anymore, she bowed and greeted him.

"Good day Ms. Rutherford, we cane resume to the interview--"

"My grandma said she had hired yo already" He walked towards his chair. "You may sit"

She sat down. "Yes sir, but we actually didn't had a proper interview, I thought we were just having a normal conversation. I might have something that's not fit with your standards, you can kick me out sir, I swear it will be fine" She was talking so fast, and when she saw his reaction amused, she cleared her throat ad calmed herself. "Uhm, I mean if I don't reach the standards, it's just the right thing to kick me out because I might be the reason of your companys downfall and I... Uhm" She was getting awkward as he was just starring at her, intently. "don't want, uh that" She looked away again.

Calian chuckled. "Gerald told me about your qualifications, and what I'm seeing is quite different, but amusing" He was just starring at her, reason why she can't look back. "Anyway, don't worry, you're hired, based on what Gerald told me, you are even overqualified, and besides, I trust my grandma. I actually requested for the contract and I already have it here"

Calian gave her the contract, she was about to pursue him again to kick her out when suddenly the amout of salary written in bold caught her attention, it was twice than what her former boss, Gerald, told her. Her mouth was left open as she continue to read the contract, there are so many benefits offered that it makes her hard to back out. It's either her mental being or the practicality of surviving.

Calian smiled as he watched her reaction and handed her a pen. Julie bit her lip as she starred at the pen for few seconds before she sighed and accepted it. Calians smile grew wider as he watched her signed the contract, he even starred at her signature on the paper when she gave it back to him.

"Great, now..." Calian put the contract back on his drawer and faced her again. "Anything you want to say in mind? Questions or anything?"

Cat got her tongue again as she panicked. His easiness makes her curious, can't he remember her? He immediately noticed her burden s he brushed of the topc immediately.

"Ah, just ignore it" He leaned his back on his swivel chair, eyes were still fixed on hers. "So, you can go home for now, you can start your work tomorrow. I'll ask someone to tour you around and to show you your office, is that alright?"

Julie nodded and forced a smile. "Yes sir"

Calian stood up. "So let's wrap up, I'm looking forward to be working with you Miss Savara Juliette Miles"

The application ended with a hand shake as she left the building still rethinking if her decision was right. She accepted the job, she signed the contract, she's now the secretary of the man she had one night stand with, and will be working with the man who took her first s*x.

"Well, I guess he doesn't even remember my face, doesn't matter anymore. I'm here for work and the offers and benefits are irresistable, besides I'm here now, there's no turning back" She said talking to herself as she was waiting for a bus.

"Julie!" Someone suddenly called out her name, her eyes widened when she saw that it was Nathan.

At the same time a taxi came by, she was going to take a bus ride but Nathan might come along with her so she immediately called for a taxi as she quickly get inside even before Nathan could reach her.

She sighed and leaned her back as she thought of Nathan, thinking why has he kept bothering her, chasing her and why doesn't he just continue his relationship with Tatiana? As they can be finally free this time, the pain already lessened as she just wants to start a new life again.

Julie took her phone when a call came, it was the manager of the condominium she stays at. Days ago before she applied in FEC Agency, she talked to the manager of the building that she wants to sell her unit so she could finally move out, so Nathan won't bother her anymore.

"Hello yes?" She greeted.

[Hello, this is the manager of Amethyst Condomenium, is this Ms. Miles I'm talking with?]

"Yes, any update?"

[We already found a potential buyer for your unit, you may meet with them to discuss about the transfer of ownership, may I ask when are you free so we could update them?]

"Uhm..." She was silent for few seconds before she spoke again. "I have free time later, are they available today?"

[Okay I'll ask their availability for today then I'll get back to you once I recieve their response, okay?]

"Alright, thanks"

[Thank you too] then she ended th call.

But another message came before she could even keep her phone, this time it was from Gerald, her former boss. He was telling her to visit the company for their agreement about transfering her to the FEC Agency, they need a replacemet for her position and while waiting for her replacement she'll have to continously visit the company for two to four hours a day, as it was stated on their regulations.

She replied she'll arrive there, then she leaned her back and sighed thinking she'd still have to meet Nathan and Tatiana there while they still look for her replacement.
