LIAM'S POV
"Did you say Olivia?" I ask Josh, confused.
"Did you know she was coming? I thought you two ended things! Moonstone pack is an enemy of Midnight Moon pack, get rid of her, Liam, or I swear you are not going to like what I can do." My dad means business, but I can't do that to her.
"There has to be a reason for her to be here. Four months ago, when she left, she said she found her mate. Olivia must be in some kind of trouble to be here." I don't give him the chance to respond, I take off to the exit and shift to the border. Olivia is here! No more sadness and no more emptiness. I knew she would come back for me.
"I don't trust her." Of course, my wolf would have something to say.
"Just listen to her and then make your decision." I tell him when we make it to the border. I put some shorts on and run to where she is. The warriors have her surrounded. She looks so innocent, so scared. She's trembling. Her beautiful hazel eyes are looking at me with hope. I immediately go to her and hug her.
"Olivia, what's wrong? I ask her. She is crying. She is so scared.
"Liam, I heard about the attack, and I had to see you. I needed to know you and your pack were safe. The thought of losing you had me on edge." I want to believe her, I have waited for this moment for such a long time, but she left me, and now, I don't know if I can trust her.
"Finally, you are opening your eyes. I think she played us all those years. How does she know about the attack?" My wolf has a very good point. I move Olivia from me and I look at her.
"Olivia, how do you know about the attack?" I ask her. She just looks down, crying even more. "Olivia!" I yell, upset.
"My mate is the Alpha of Black Thorn Pack, and he found out about us. He was so jealous. He couldn't get over the fact that I love you." She starts crying again, and I want to feel bad for her, but there is so much to ask.
"Let's go in the pack house. We can talk there. Can you follow me?" I ask her, guiding her away from everyone. I don't want to discuss my private business in front of warriors. We quickly shift, and she follows me to the house.
"Liam, what the hell are you thinking? She cannot come into my house! She belongs to an enemy pack, and she is mated to our attacker. I know at your age all you think about is s*x, but think of your pack first. You are to become the Alpha in just days!" My dad yells at me, lecturing me through the mindlink.
"Not now, dad. It is my house, too, and she is my guest, so I expect her to be treated with respect." I close the link after my response. He is supposed to make me the Alpha soon. The least he could do is trust my judgment.
When we finally make it to the house, my dad, Adam, and Josh are waiting at the steps, while a few other curious eyes are looking through the windows. Gossip runs fast in the pack. By now, everyone knows their own version of my story with Olivia and are taking note.
I throw an oversized shirt at her so she can put it on. Wolves are not shy, and being naked is not embarrassing, but in this case, I'm sure she is feeling out of place with everyone here.
"Explain yourself, girl, what are you doing here? what do you want?" My dad couldn't help himself and demands answers from Olivia.
"Not here and not like this, dad. You need to put aside whatever opinion you have right now." I snap defensively. I have questions, too, but I won't upset Olivia just to please my dad.
"Alpha, I am ready to answer all your questions. You have every right to be upset right now. I admit that coming here may be a mistake, but I couldn't help it. I love Liam, and I dont want anything to happen to him." This is the second time she says she loves me. I don't know if I should believe her.
"If she loved you, she would've stayed or if she would've came back to you. I would've respected that, but she met her mate and clearly accepted him." My wolf says a little disgusted.
"We need to hear her!" I snap.
"She is mated! She stinks like him! you are going to take his sloppy seconds, I thought you were better than that!" Aghhh, he is so annoying! I never said I wanted her back, I just want to know what exactly happened.
"Dad, can we not do this here? At least let's go inside, let her get dressed, maybe eat something, and then we can talk. I am not asking because I have feelings for her, but because it's the right thing to do." I plead to my dad. I want to know the truth as much as everyone, but I also feel bad for what she probably has been through.
"Fine, maybe Marci can find her something to wear from the donation boxes and see that the kitchen prepares something for her to eat." He says, almost defeated. That earned me an angry look from Adam and Joshua, but I don't care.
I just nod and guide her inside.
"Don't even think of putting her in your room! I won't allow it. She is still the daughter Jordan Sanders and her mate just attacked us. Getting in bed with her would be a death sentence for every member of this pack." My dad warns me through the mindlink.
"I know, dad. I am not planning to do anything more than what I said." I respond.
"Your house is very pretty. It shows that someone put a lot of effort into the decor. I wasn't expecting this at all. My pack house is smaller, but it only houses the Alpha family and some guards. My mate's pack house is also really big, with lots of people coming in and out of it all day long, Brandon has constant meetings, while I ..." She stops herself when she sees that I am not responding. I might be showing hospitality, but the mention of her mate angers me. It makes the emptiness in my heart get deeper.
"No offense, Olivia, but I don't want to hear about him. Is best if we keep our relationship in the past." I tell her, guiding her to the room furthest from mine in the Alpha Floor. After hearing how she sounds so mesmerized by her mate, I don't know if I believe her when she says she loves me. " This will be your room until we decide what to do about you. I will ask Marci to get you some clothes and have the kitchen bring you something to eat." I practically push her in the room and close it. I can't let her wrap me in her lies.
"I don't trust her. You should be careful with that one. She is hiding something." My wolf tells me. I may have to take his side this time because Olivia's presence in my land doesn't make any sense.
I leave the Alpha floor as fast as I can, almost as if I was afraid of Olivia trying to lure me back inside. I am coming so fast down the stairs that I almost crash against Adam, who is coming from the Beta floor.
"She should be in the cells. I swear if we get attacked again, I will put her in the cells myself. You are betraying your pack, and is not me saying it, is the whole pack." I bare my teeth at him, and he does the same to me.
