CHAPTER FOUR: UNEXPECTED TWIST

ALIANDRA'S POV

Two weeks after I accepted to be Alpha Roman’s mate, he suddenly transformed into a sweet lovely man, the kind I would love to spend the rest of my life with. He had never been this joyful till I met him.

I, too, counted myself as lucky to be blessed with a second chance mate who would go the extra lengths to make me happy.

Alpha told me he hasn't slept for two years now because he was thinking of how to raise a family and have an heir.

His desperation over having a child was kind of suspicious to me. He wanted a child badly. Each time I ask him why the rush, he tells me he loves kids and would like to have them as soon as possible.

That morning, as we lay on the bed, I’d wanted to wake him up but deliberately left him to sleep all he wanted while I lay by him, admiring his handsome face and consuming every air that came from his nostrils. I was happy he was sleeping peacefully like a child now after two years.

Suddenly, I felt a piercing pain in my lower abdomen, and I ran my hands on the spot, caressing my stomach.

For two days now, I have been having this pain and weakness all over my body, and sometimes I doze off without knowing it.

Although Alpha usually helps in messaging my body, I still felt my joints aching and my body heavy.

So, I decided to prepare a sycamore tea for myself. I was feeling feverish too.

Groaning slightly in pain from my aching muscles, I walked to the kitchen but bumped into the house manager, May.

“ Good morning, my Luna. Trust you slept well," She greeted me with a smile that forced me to smile despite my condition.

“ Good morning. how are you doing?" I said amid the pain.

" I'm fine,” she replied with a gesture and glanced properly at me. " Are you sure you’re fine, Luna? Your face looks sick” She noticed and ran her hands on my forehead to take my temperature.

" What? You're scorching. Your body temperature is high. I think you need a doctor” she suggested with concern written all over her.

My sick breath thrust down slowly in exhaustion. I was getting weaker so I explained, “ I don't know what Is wrong with me. I need to visit the hospital as you said." I let out a frustrated sigh.

“ Don't worry, my Luna. Let me just get a skilled nurse to conduct a medical check-up on you. I don't want you moving about in your condition, okay?" She patted my back gently, but I insisted on going to the nurse myself.

We later left the mansion without Alpha’s knowledge to the Nurse's place. I don't want to interrupt his peaceful sleep with unnecessary complaints.

Some moments later, we arrived at the place, a mini clinic if I may describe it correctly. May took the lead and I followed.

She knocked at the door, and a tall, beautiful lady with gold hair and not less than Twenty-six years old opened the door for us, and we entered the small house she uses as a clinic.

May introduced me to her as Alpha’s mate, and I saw how she looked at me with jealousy in her eyes.

Her jealousy did not bother me. Alpha has never dated any girl before. I was his first so I should expect negativity from all the girls.

“ I'm Evelyn Mark. It's nice to meet you, Aliandra Alpha Roman must be very lucky to have you in his life,” The Nurse introduced, her eyes shooting me with envy all over.

I chuckled, easing the tension in the room. Those looks were nothing to me. Alpha is mine and mine forever.

I narrated how she was feeling to the nurse and she brought out her tools to take my temperature.

“ How Long have you been feeling this way?" The lady asked while taking my temperature.

“ Just two days now. I feel feverish too," I explained, but she didn't respond to me.

Some minutes later, she wrote down something and asked some questions that made me believe how skilled and competent she was with her job.

Then, she requested I run a blood test and urine test before she commenced treatment on me. I did as she said and she took my blood samples first before my urine.

Twenty minutes later, Evenly returned to us and handed me my medicine result, her face devoid of a smile.

“ Here, the test results show you're one month pregnant. Congratulations” she announced to me with a cold voice that proves otherwise.

Hearing the good news, I almost fainted. I am pregnant for Alpha Roman?

Dragging May’s hands in exhilaration, I screamed, overwhelmed with joy but none of the ladies seemed to be happy for me.

“ May, I am carrying Alpha Roman’s heir. Oh my goodness, Alpha would sink in joy after hearing this good news. The moon goddess finally granted him his one-heart desire," I announced to the ladies, squealing and dancing for joy.

“ My lady, you are carrying Alpha Roman's child?" May asked me, her voice showing how shocked she was about the good news.

“ Yes, Nurse Evelyn just announced it. It is written here, too." In my excitement, I handed May the test results. It seems she doesn't know how badly Alpha needed this child in my womb.

Both ladies exchanged glances as May glanced through the test results and then she fired a questioning gaze at me.

“ But my Lady, don't you think this is a little bit complicated? You and Alpha just met some two weeks ago, but the results here say you're one month pregnant. " The seriousness in May’s voice cut my excitement away.

“ Complicated? How?" My expression transformed into a frown as May’s words killed the joy In me.

In one minute, my brain resets, leaving me exposed to the reality of the truth my maid, May, just confronted me with.

Hastily, I grabbed the results from May, my fingers shaking vehemently like I had an essential tremor, and I carefully glanced through it.

Then, it dawned on me that I was one month pregnant and not two weeks pregnant. Seemingly, this could only mean that the child in my womb does not belong to Alpha Roman because we just met two weeks ago.

When reality hit me hard, I suddenly realized that the child I was carrying in my womb was not Alpha Roman‘s. It belonged to Alpha Sebastian Hemsworth, my ex-mate.
