The Blessing of a Miracle Birth
Queen Helia gripping the bed sheets tightly sweat cover her head and drenching her clothing while gripping the sheets tightly. Screams coming from the queen's chambers as the others pacing the throne room while King Uldreyin sat on the throne nervously his knees bouncing. He has sired eight children with his queen, three of them died at birth due to cords wrapped around their necks. All of them were daughters, he desired to have daughters as well sons to expand his kingdom and alliances. His eldest, third and fourth were all sons, second, fifth, sixth seventh and eight were all daughters. Now the doctor said that this would be the queen's last pregnancy as she was too weak in the womb to carry more.
It had been three hours since the queen went into labor. The first prince Serrur, with black hair variating between midnight black and dark grey, leaned against the wall looking at the way towards their mother's room there was a silence in the room that you could hear a rat scamper in the walls. "You think this one will be alive?" Serrur seventeen asked his younger sister Atha ten with bright red hair that had hints of orange and yellow giving her a fiery temper. "I hope and I hope it's another girl so at least I can dress her up and boss her around." She said playing with her younger sister who was playing with a ball. The younger boys played roughly like most kids their age did and causing mischief.
King Uldreyin had long light blue hair with dark blue and blue highlights though he barely had stubble for a beard he was well over two thousand years old. Yet with his looks, he looked to be in his early twenties let alone the father of five children already. He prayed to anyone or thing to allow this birth to be joyous, unlike the last one that results in the kingdom morning for three months. He closed his eyes for a moment, how he wished he could take his wife's pain how could he do this to her yet again... knowing she may not give birth to a child that would live.
Maids and servants go in and out of the room as the high pitched screams of the queen filled the hallways of the castle. "One more Push!" Tillia said her most trusted maidservant... "You have to push or the kingdom would mourn your life as well the child!" She said with tears in her eyes looking at the queen she served faithfully since the queen was just a princess and a few years before her marriage. With one final push, Queen Helia finally gives birth after so so long the child as all newborns were born with white-colored hair. Though the queen laying back her lavender hair with very few darker purple and purple strands sticking to her face, neck, and bare shoulders from sweat during childbirth. Her eyes closed for a moment lost in the silence.
"Oh, Divine source.... no..." Tillia said wiping the sweat from the queen's face and body seeing the blue lips and lifeless arm of the newborn princess. "Tillia... what ... what's wrong... why don't I hear my baby." She said slowly trying to sit up but stopped due to them pressing on her belly for the after birth. Others gathered around the newborn princess to clean her up. The cord, like the previous births tightly wrapped around the small neck. Slowly they unwrapped the cord each moment felt as if time was slowing to a halt. Tillia looked at the queen not wanting to break her heart not again. "There... too much blood... they are trying to get the bleeding under control." She said smiling and wiping her eyes.
Those working on the queen agreed that is what is wrong, and when they finished they brought the newborn princess to her. All a sobering silence when they placed the queen back in bed after cleaning her up and in her arms. She saw the blue lips and tears welled in her eyes, she lost another child. She hugged her baby gently and sobbed just as she was about to scream in heart-wrenching pain the newborn let out a high pitch wail and didn't stop until her mouth found what she was seeking. All there swore the child had no breath no heartbeat but now screaming at the top of her lungs, all fell to their knees shortly before the King and her five other children burst into the room.
Just as they came in Queen Helia placed the newborn at her breast where the baby settled down. No one dared to move as they all held their breaths the first of all of the other births that didn't make it, she was the only one who died and came back to life. King Uldreyin, Princes Serrur, Colaxis, and Narfu just stared in wonder. While Princesses Atha and Pelaphe were closer to the bed now as they had a little sister. Finally another girl in the family. "Thiassess." Queen Helia said gently stroking her hair. "My small Miracle." She said as the child never opened her eyes and remained latched at her mother's breast nursing while sleeping.
