Chapter 9

    Alexis starts shaking, "No, no I don't need this!" She places everything down roughly onto the nightstand spilling some of the water. She curls into a ball and places her head between her legs breathing roughly.

   Raj gets up from the chair and moves toward the bed slowly, "Alexis, it's alright nothing is going to happen to you anymore but it's a good idea to take this just in case. You don't want to accidentally get pregnant from what happened do you?"

    Her breathing rate increases as she shakes her head no in between her knees.

    "Alexis I'm just trying to help you recover, you really need to take the medicine."

    "No, no you don't know anything." She continues shaking her head between her knees.

    "Sweetie I saw your pants." Alexis starts sobbing. "I know what happened."

    Alexis quickly raises her head to look at Raj yelling in anger, "No you don't know! You don't know anything!" She then lifts the blanket above her head and lays on her side facing away from Raj.

    Raj takes a moment to collect himself, he hates seeing her upset. Sigh, "How am I supposed to help if you don't explain then. Tell me what I'm missing. I saw the bruises, I saw the blood. I know someone held you against your will and I know someone choked you. The blood in your pants indicates someone hurt you. If you don't explain I won't know." Raj is now desperately trying to get her to talk to him and part of him is hoping he was wrong about the rape.

    After a little while Alexis' breathing, while still heavy, is less erratic. "I don't need the pill."

    "Why don't you need the pill?" 

    "I-"

    "Did he use a condom?" Even with a condom he knew she could still get pregnant but he didn't know if she knew that.

    Alexis starts shaking again, "I-"

    "Did he not c*m?" Again he knew there is a small chance of pregnancy even if he didn't, but he was desperately asking pointed questions trying to get her to respond.

    She starts sobbing again. "He didn't put it in, the janitor interrupted. He was about to...about to-"

    Raj then sits on the bed and starts rubbing her back. "Shh it's ok, your okay." Raj sighs in relief that he couldn't finish what he was planning but then became confused again about the blood. "Alexis if he didn't get to finish then why was there blood in your pants?"

    "He took-he took-he took it." Alexis says sobbing not able to fully get out what happened.

    "He took what Alexis?" She started sobbing even harder and Raj started thinking. "Your virginity?" Alexis is now wailing. Confusion strikes his features. He took her virginity without going all the way? "With his fingers?" Alexis nods her head still sobbing. "Alexis fingers aren't enough to cause bleeding,"

    "No, no, no." Alexis furiously shakes her head wanting everything to stop.

    "What did he use Alexis? How did he take your virginity?" Raj was desperate at this point he needed her to talk. There could be a lot more damage to her body than he originally thought.

    Alexis is still sobbing but between her sobs she gets out, "Bottle." Raj's eyes flash in anger. While he is glad he didn't put his own into her he is furious because a bottle can cause internal damage and tearing, hence the blood he saw. Simply loosing ones virginity does not cause bleeding. He pulls her into a hug and rocks with her on the bed trying to calm her down once again. Once she is calm he has her take the Ibuprofen and gives her the ice for her face. "Alexis if you need me just ask the guard in front of your door. I will come at any time so do not hesitate to ask for me. I'm going to go and bring some food in for you, you get some rest." Alexis nods and looks down. He knows he needs to examine her but she has been through enough trauma so he decides to wait until tomorrow. As Raj exits her room he sees the food tray on the floor next to the door and looks up to Eric.

    "I didn't want to disturb you."

    Raj nods and takes the food into her room setting it on the side table, "Eat when you are feeling up to it." Raj then leaves to once again talk with Damian.     

    Raj knocks this time trying to steel himself for the conversation to come.

    "Enter." Damian's gruff voice sounds from behind the door.

    When Raj enters he sees Damian focused on his computer. He closes the door then takes a seat in front of the desk. Damian finishes what he is working on then looks up to see Raj sitting there with a hard expression. "Well?"

    "Right, so she was raped but she was only fingered and penetrated by a bottle."

    "He didn't put it in?"

    "He tried but the janitor came. It sounds like it happened inside the school. In an empty room, closet or bathroom. Since it was a bottle that was used it had to be readily available to the perpetrator so it probably happened in a classroom or some type of supply closet. The janitor must have been coming in to clean or get supplies and interrupted, but since it wasn't reported then the door must have been locked somehow. That's all I can figure out." Raj grits his teeth.

    Damian leans back in his chair, closing his eyes, bringing his hand to his forehead. "I'm glad they couldn't finish what they started. Well, even with the information you have deduced it gives us more of a lead. We also know it happened during first period because that was when she was released early from class. I can tell Bobby to look for rooms that are able to lock from the inside or see if there are empty classrooms at the time of first period. We can also deduce that at least one of the perpetrators were probably in her first period class. Who else would have known she would be in the hallway at that time? I doubt it was a coincidence." He looks straight back at Raj.   

    "Perfect. If you get a class roster from her first period class, even if she doesn't want to say the name aloud, I can offer to read the list and she can just nod to me. Then you can have Bobby tail them to find out who they hang around. The perpetrators have to be friends." 

    Damian nods, "Go, once you get a name I will call Bobby back in for an update."

    "Well I don't think now would be a good time." Damian raises a brow. "She was really upset after our last conversation, having to bring the incident back up."

    "The faster we find out the faster we can handle the situation."

    "I realize that but we don't want to break the poor girl. Just wait until dinner. She is having lunch now and will probably end up taking a nap. After that I can bring dinner up to her, maybe around 5:30, and I can find out more."

    "Okay, whatever you think is best. We already have Bobby in the school system. One of my techs looked up Alexis' school schedule and had him enrolled into the same classes. He is going to start tomorrow regardless. If you aren't able to get a name then I will tell Bobby to focus on first period. John!" Damian yells towards the door. John opens the door then bows his head just to look back up again. "Tell the tech who was in here earlier to get me the class list for Alexis' first period class. I want it within ten minutes." John bows his head again and then leaves closing the door behind him. "I'll have the list in ten minutes on my desk. Come back when you are ready to visit Alexis again and I will give it to you."

    Raj pauses for a minute his facial features scrunching in a bit. "Boss."

    "Since when do you call me boss? Yet I don't mind the respect coming from you after all these years." Damian's mouth curls up at the side.

    "When are you going to go see her?" Raj looks at him questioningly.

    Damian sighs sitting back in his chair. "I don't think now would be a good time. I'm an unfamiliar face who has just spoken with her one two occasions and after all that has happened I don't think she would want to see me."

    "But you need to start letting her gain a rapport with you otherwise she is just going to push back."

    "I know that Raj. Now's just not the time." Damian's face gets hard.

    Raj just looks at him and sighs, "Well what about meeting her real father?"

    "That will have to wait too of course. Her mental state is too fragile, even I know that much. In the mean time however, I will have to call him and tell him what has transpired. See if he knows anything about her home life and also what just happened. Though he won't be happy he needs to know before he comes to see her so he doesn't get angry in front of her if she says something about it. This entire thing is becoming more of a mess than what I thought this would be. Now with this happening there will be an even bigger delay on the wedding and the shares I will be gaining from Albert. We really need to try and move things along quicker." Damian sighs massaging his head with his hand while his elbow rests on the desk. "You talk to her tonight about the perpetrators and I will go see her tomorrow after she rests, how about that?"

    Raj nods his head in agreement even though he really dislikes pushing Alexis towards anything. "Well I'll go to my office for now, I'll stop by later probably around 5 before I pick up the food to take to her room around 5:30. See you then." Raj stands and leaves the office wondering just how he is going to manage to talk to Alexis again without breaking the poor girl.
