Chapter 12

Gabe POV After an extremely long day, I finally make my way back up to my room.  Logan has been acting strange all day, and I’m looking forward to having some one on one time with him finally. Typically he always meets up with us for dinner, but for the last two nights he hasn't. Even though he didn’t say anything, I had a feeling it had to do with Brett ordering him to spy on Silas and his pack. I can’t help but to scowl as I walk up the stairs. Why the hell did he have to get Logan involved in his plans? Something is clearly bothering him about all this, and I’m going to beat the s**t out of Brett if he upset my mate. When I open the door to our room, I see Logan sitting crossed legged on our bed, wearing nothing but a pair of grey sweat pants. Even two years later, my mouth still waters at the sight of him. His blonde hair is flopping down into his eyes and as he looks down at the laptop on his lap. He’s a bit on the small and skinny side, especially for a wolf, but to me he’s perfect. Logan looks up as I walk into the room and gives me a tired smile. I can see the stress and concern in his bright blue eyes. “Hey, babe,” I say as I close the door and climb into bed next to him, “how was your day?” Logan just shrugs and tilts his head towards me so I can give him a quick kiss. I try to distract him for a little longer, but he turns his head and looks back down at his laptop. “Eh, it was ok, I guess. How did the meeting go?” “Surprisingly good. Everybody leaves tomorrow, thank the Goddess, and we already started getting prepared.” “That’s good,” Logan said absently, and I knew he really wasn’t paying attention. “Logan,” I say to him as I take his chin in my hand and force him to look at me, “What’s wrong?” “Mikey just emailed me the stuff on Alpha Silas and Fallen Oak that Brett requested.” The look on Logan’s face scares the crap out of me. s**t, is Brett actually right and there is something shady going on? I understand why is Brett acting the way he is, there were only a select few of us who knew about the asshole who tried to take advantage of Leah with the mate bond, and Brett is, of course, one of them. I get his concern, but it’s clear this is not the same. Or at least I thought so. “s**t, did you find something out, baby?” I ask him, scared to know the answer. “No, nothing like that. It’s personal stuff. Things that I should probably never know, and Mikey sure as hell shouldn’t know. Stuff he should tell Leah on his own, not have hacked out of the council’s database because Brett is paranoid.” I couldn’t help the relief that swept through my body. I already am  growing attached to Silas and his i***t Beta. And I could tell how good he is for Leah.  “So, that sounds like good news. Why are you so upset?’ “I just feel like such a creep. I don’t want to give this to Brett. There’s nothing in here to incriminate the Alpha or imply he means any harm towards Leah or our pack. I just don’t feel right handing it over.” I push the laptop out of Logan’s lap and close it, “Then don’t. If Brett gives you a hard time, he can talk to me. I’m not above getting Leah involved. He has no right to ask that of you in the first place.” I straddle Logan and push him down on the bed. He laughs up at me, “You’re not going to ask me what was in there?” “Nope. It’s none of my business. And honestly, I don’t wanna talk about another guy right now.” “Oh no?” Logan asks playfully. “Nope.” “And why is that?” “Because the only guy I care about right now is you, and getting these ridiculously sexy sweatpants off immediately.” Logan laughs his signature husky laugh that always gets me hard, but lifts his hips up so I can get his pants off.  I waste no time ripping them off and throwing them to the side. His c**k springs up once released from the pants, and is right there for my taking.  “You seem stressed babe,” I tell him as I lower my face so I’m hovering right over his shaft, “Let me help you with that.” I wrap my lips around his tip, and then slowly lick and nip my way up his whole length. Logan is squirming under me. I know he prefers both his blow jobs and and s*x fast and hard, but I can’t help teasing him a bit. “Mhhmm,” he mutters incoherently as his tip touches the back of my throat. His hands fist in my hair and I know he’s trying to set the pace. Alright fine, we’ll do it his way. I allow him to f**k my throat for a bit, his hips hitching up, bringing him even deeper inside. Good thing I don’t have a gag reflex anymore.  “Gabe, I’m gonna come,” he tells me. I let up just enough to speak, making eye contact with him. “Go ahead, I want to taste you.”  In a brutally fast movement, I take his entire length in my mouth again, licking the underside of his p***s while my hand fondles his balls. It’s all it takes, and Logan comes deep down my throat.  I finally release him. Then on my hands and knees, I lean back over him and begin to lick him clean. Logan’s rolling his eyes and is already at half mast again. He finally puts himself together enough to grab my face and bring me into a kiss. “Thanks, baby,” he tells me, “I needed that.” I wrap my arms around him, and he rests his head on my chest. “Feeling better now?” He smiled at me, “Yup. And now it’s my turn to return the favor.” His eyes light up mischievously as he  begins to unbutton my pants. “By all means,” I tell him, as I lay back on the bed and allow him to to take my pants off. Leah POV: Our wolves run for hours. It’s been a while since I let Sienna out, and she needed a run, regardless, but getting a chance to truly bond with her mate was special. Seeing them together makes me realize how important this mate bond is, and even if I’m still terrified, I would do whatever I need to do to make it work for Sienna’s sake.  Silas and I slept together in my room again last night. It may have only been two nights, but it’s still the best sleep I’ve had since my dad died. Waking up to feel those strong arms around me is pure bliss.  But this morning, as I roll over and stretch, I realize the bed is empty. I sit up, concerned, wondering where he is. “Good morning, Moyo,” I hear from behind me and I turn to see Silas sitting on the couch, his phone in his hand, and his laptop, that he must’ve had Garrett brought over at some point, sitting on the coffee table, “sleep well?” I rub my eyes, “Yeah I did. What are you doing?” He smiles at me, and Sienna and I both melt. Goddess, I need to get it together. “Well I need to get work done at some point. Since, I’ll be here a few more days, I’m sending everything back with Liam and Garrett so they can start getting the warriors prepared and the changes we all agreed on starting.” I suddenly felt really guilty. I’m keeping him from his pack. I sit up on the edge of the bed, “Silas, if you need to go back with Garrett, don’t feel like you’re obliged to stay here. Your pack is the most important-”  Silas doesn’t let me finish. Before the sentence is completely out of my mouth, he drops his phone and stalks over. His mouth meet mine stopping the thought before it’s completely formed. “Let me make something clear to you right now,” he tells me, his voice serious. He has a strong grip on my chin, forcing me to keep eye contact. “Nothing, and I mean nothing when it comes to you is an obligation. Of course my pack is important. I would do anything for them. But for right now, my place is with you. It’s literally three extra days, Leah. What’s the point of having a Beta if he never has to do anything? Garrett and Liam will be fine. And then in three days we will go to my pack and do this all over again. I want to be here. I want to be where you are.” I nod my head and he releases my chin and gives me a kiss on my nose. “I’ll win you over one day Moyo. One day you’ll see just how important you are to me.” I just shake my head. Being around Silas is still overwhelming me, and even though deep down I know what he’s saying is the truth, I’ve had too many bad experiences to not make me wary. “Let’s get dressed,” I tell him, “All the other packs will be leaving soon and I should be there to say goodbye.” Silas nods, but I can see concern in his eyes. I know he wants to say more but he drops it. We get dressed and make our way outside where all the packs are packing up and heading out. Brett, Gabe, Logan, and Garrett and already all there hanging off to the side. I know Garrett is leaving today as well, but he intends hang back a bit and leave later in the day. “Hey guys,” I say as we walk up. The guys all make their greetings to us. I watch as the five council members who were here leave the packhouse, a few of the Omegas helping them with their belongings. Everett and one of the other councilmen, Graves, eyes our group and walk over to us, a smug expression on their faces. I can feel all of the guys stiffen up behind me, and I can’t help but roll my eyes. Great just what I needed, even more overprotective men. “Good morning, councilmen,” I say taking a step forward, indicating to the guys that I can handle this, “Getting ready to head back?” I ask them. “Yes,” Everett replies as his eyes continue to flicker between us. “We just wanted to thank you for your hospitality, Alpha.” He tells me and I hear Gabe hold back a snort behind me. “Of course.” I reply. I’m surprised they haven’t just come out and asked about Silas and I. It’s not like them to hold their tongue. But then again, they really have no say in the relationships between packs, and absolutely no right to govern anything regarding fated mates. They can say they are concerned for the well-being of our packs but in reality, they are not supposed to get involved unless it’s posing a problem. But they had never worried before about getting involved where they don’t belong.  “We couldn't help but notice that you and Alpha Davis have been spending quite a bit of time together this weekend,” Everett says to me, already scrutinizing my reaction. I can really give two shits what Everett thinks, but I do care what Silas thinks. I can feel his eyes on me. He’s not saying anything, and I know he’s going to follow my lead on this. “Yes, well I’m sure you did with the considerable amount of time you spent watching the two of us all weekend,” I reply drily. Garrett coughs, and I’m pretty sure it’s his poor attempt at covering up a laugh. “Well, is there anything we should know?”  I hesitate and look over at Silas. He’s standing to the side, his arms crossed over his chest, his eyes on me. I make eye contact with him, and he gives a slight nod, saying this is my show. Behind Everett and Graves, a few of the other Alpha’s that were packing up stop and are now watching us. Among them I see f*****g Jack Peters watching us. He’s wearing a damn sling around his arm. Is he serious? He’s a damn wolf, his arm is definitely healed by now. Seeing that asshole confirmed my decision. I’m no longer going to live in fear of what these sexist out of touch jerks think. The council can do what they want. It isn’t going to change my mind. “As far as I am aware, it is not necessary to inform the council of a ranked mating until the official pack ceremonies, but since you are all unnaturally obsessed with both mine and Silas’ pack, I will be generous and tell you now. This should give you plenty of notice to do whatever underhanded tactics you plan to do to make my life a living hell. But yes, Silas and I are fated mates.” I say it loud enough so all of the nosy assholes lingering around can hear it too. I’m done letting them dictate my life. I feel a strong pair of arms wrap around my waist, and the comforting smell of citrus lets me know it’s my mate. Silas POV “But yes, Silas and I are fated mates.” I’m f*****g floating. I look over at Leah standing there all confident and strong, keeping eye contact with those fuckers, and I realize in that moment that I love her. It was a given of course, since we’re mated. But it’s not just because of the mate bond. I love Leah, for Leah. Mate bond or not. Mate wants us! Go to mate! King is yelling like an i***t. Truth is, I probably, look just as much as an i***t as King is acting. I know I have a stupid ass grin on my face, but I can’t help it. Leah acknowledged us, as her mate, in front of the council and in front of all those other nosey fuckers too. I can see that douchebag Alpha, Peters, lingering just close enough to hear. His face is full of rage. He still has a frigging sling on his arm. Is he serious? I make eye contact with him and I see him visibly flinch. Good. He may be an Alpha in title but he recognizes who the true Alpha is. I still don’t know what that pervert said to Leah, but I intend to find out. Add it to the ever growing list of things we need to talk about. All of this happened in the span of about 10 seconds. Then I realize I’m just standing here like a dumbass while my mate handles the council all on her own. I have no intention of interrupting, because this is her thing, but I am going to show her my support. I go over and wrap my arms around her, and I feel her lean into my body. Good, I was a little nervous she wouldn’t appreciate it. “Is this true Alpha Davis?” Asshole Everett asks me. “Why the hell would she be lying about that? Of course it’s true.” I can actually hear the gears in his brain working. From what Leah and Brett have said, he’s been trying to prove she’s an imcompetant Alpha since she took over, and was trying to get her with a male Alpha. But he also hates my guts and my family. I can’t help but laugh at that. Dude thinks he’s gonna get what he wants and have an Alpha under his control take over the resources of the wealthiest pack in our region. But instead he has to deal with me. “You’re gonna give yourself a headache, thinking so much,” I tell him, “So I’ll cut to the chase. This is Alpha Giammetti’s pack. Not mine. I am here to support her. Anything pack related for Crescent Moon goes through her. I will only talk to you about Fallen Oak’s matters.” I can actually feel the tension leave Leah’s body, and I hear a few gasps from the nosy ass Alpha’s listening. “You know this can become a huge conflict of interest if you keep your packs separated.” Everett tells us. “And it is up to us to figure that out. We will come to you if we need help, or if there is a problem. Since neither of those things occurred yet, I would really appreciate some alone time with my mate.” Leah tells them, “I hope you have a safe trip back, all of you.” She says to the whole group, and then my badass mate turns around and walks back into the pack house, leaving all of them standing there stunned. Everett’s jaw is practically hitting the f*****g ground. “You heard the Alpha,” I tell them, “Have a nice day,” And go f**k yourself. I follow Leah inside. Gabe, Garrett, and Logan all follow us in, leaving poor Brett to deal with the pissed off Council.
