I was woken up by the beams of the sun coming across my face. Sierra was pacing restlessly like there was something important I missed while I was out. As much as I wanted to rest, I knew I needed to get up, especially since I felt Amhurst moving around the room as I opened my eyes.
"What are you doing? What's going on?" I asked her, still somewhat in a daze.
"Good, you're up. The nurse came in and said we were going to be taken to another room. I was just looking around to see if there is anything we can take with us to help our escape," she answered.
"Good idea, but I don't think they would leave stuff like that lying around. I know you weren't asleep when the doctor came in last night. You heard what they think, right? We will need a soundproof plan to escape."
She came to sit next to me. "Yes I heard. Not everything he said was true. From the stories that passed from OUR family, your grandfather was mated with your grandmother. Our family didn't like that any more than the wolves. I mean we value our pure bloodlines. She was a very talented witch with so much potential. She was the one that was supposed to be the leader of our coven. She could have any guy she wanted, so yeah, with all of that, she did have a quest for power that led her to seduce many before she met your grandfather. She was testing her abilities and became influenced by some dark forces and was using those that she seduced to gain their strength. I mean, like, powerful wizards and sorcerers. Those were the first ones. That's how she conceived your aunt. Then she started recruiting. Among those that she recruited were some talented witch hybrids, some say the original hybrids. She saw value in how they were able to hold the power of both species they were blended with. They influenced her to allow that mate bond to grow and to use her power to form an army that was supposed to be superior to any army we had seen before with promises of becoming a queen. Lexi, you will have the same offer. I saw what would happen if we fled with them. That's why I didn't tell you my vision before. This group is finishing the work of the original clan. They have a quest for power and, just like the council, they see you and your pup as a weapon. You can not side with them. I know this sounds horrible but the only way you can get out of this alive is if the majority don't see you as a threat. In the last vision, I saw the two forces rise up against each other. The battle will be epic. You have to remain hidden if you want to keep your pup safe. You will have allies along the way of this journey. I don't know who they are. I haven't seen them. But I know your biggest ally will have to be the King."
"What does that mean? The King? I haven't even met him before. How do you know he will be an ally? What interest would he have in me?"
"Not you, your pup."
"What the..."
"NO! Not like that. He doesn't want to take him from you, and it's not like a romantic vision with you either. In the vision he's not going to use your pup like the rest. I saw you being captured with both sides. Things will eventually work out somehow. I saw him helping you train your pup like a mentor of some sort. He will protect you and I see you will be able to live a normal life again. But don't forget your love line is only interrupted. I didn't see it, but you can find love again. Just because I didn't see it with him doesn't mean it won't happen."
" Speaking of, my mate... I mean Ex-mate. I spoke to him. He is still a pompous jerk but seemed interested in helping protect his pup. I asked him to make sure they didn't hurt Nicole and tried to explain that we are connected. I don't expect him to come to our rescue, but hopefully it will buy me some time to be ready."
"Good. I have confidence that things will come together. We will just need to come up with a plan." she said, putting some more items in a bag.
She cleaned the room out if any and all medical supplies she could find. Before long, we were escorted out of the room and down the hall and a floor up. The suite I was given was actually nice. Two bedrooms, a full living room, a kitchen and a bathroom to share.
If we weren't being held captive and I didn't have a home of my own, I would be comfortable living here. Well, except for the cameras in every corner of the house. Literally, no privacy. I covered the one in the bathroom with a hand towel, causing a guard to come knocking on the door and tell me to pull the towel down. NO PRIVACY!
