Chapter 14

After being fully ravished by Eden we heard a knock on the door. My face becoming flustered knowing that they will be able to tell what we just did in the office. “Come in.” Eden’s voice boomed. The door opened slowly then I saw my parents walking in. My mother’s face had a gloomy expression. Just the people I wanted to talk to. My rage intensified again. Eden was able to feel it and immediately his hand wrapped around mine. He sat me back on his lap. I couldn’t understand why it was impossible for me to control my emotions suddenly. I have noticed it had been happening lately. “Taelyn, why have you been making your mother feel bad?” My father questioned me with a raised eyebrow. Seriously? My breathing became erratic. Eden gave him a small growl. “What is your problem?” I retorted. “I’m not the one keeping secrets.” I shot back. I knew it was hypocritical of me to say that when I kept the secret of my rejection. It wasn’t the same though. I was trying to keep them safe from our ex-Alphas wrath. They looked shocked. “We don’t have any secrets, Taelyn.” My mother whispered. “So, your reaction to Gabriel’s story has nothing to do with your secret?” I asked them. They stayed quiet. “And the name Cain doesn’t ring a bell?” I continued. “How do you know that name?” My father hissed. Eden was not having it. He gave him another growl as warning.  “I do know, maybe because he has been pestering me in my dreams and at dress shops lately.” I stated. My mother seemed shocked while my father was enraged. “What did he tell you?” My father inquired. “No, I need to know what secrets you are keeping from us.” I exclaimed. “Who’s Gabriel and who’s Cain.” I pressed. It was too much coincidence. My mother sighs. “I think its time to tell her the truth. There’s no point in hiding it anymore.” My mother stared at her mate. My father pressed his lips tight. I could tell he did not want to say a word. “I guess you are right.” He gave my mother a small kiss on the back of her hand. “We think Gabriel might be our lost son.” He turned to look at me. My heart skipped a beat. “Your brother.” He continued. “When he was 5 months old, he was abducted and even though we tried searching for him and trust me we looked everywhere we couldn’t find him.” My father stared into oblivion. “We spent months looking for him. Jadiel was about 3 years old, and he doesn’t remember. Eventually we gave up thinking the worse. We couldn’t find him, and we never heard from the abductor again.” My mother sobbed. “So, you know who abducted him?” I asked. My heart felt a pang. Gabriel had been denied a loving family. “Who was it?” I urged. I wanted to know who was responsible of taking my brother away. Who was the culprit of denying him the right to a family and being loved? “Cain.” My father growled. I gasped. That is why he kept pushing that my parents were keeping a secret. “Your uncle on your mother’s side.” He continued. “What?” I was stunned. They never spoke about any family members. We were never told that we had an extended family much less a lost brother. “But you always said we didn’t have any other family members.” I stared at them. “We did until Cain abducted our baby and we found out that everyone was involved because they think that he was the powerful wolf that would resurrect the monarchy.” My mother responded. “My family and your father’s family had allied to get rid of our son thinking that he was going to be the next in line to be king.” She couldn’t stop crying. “When we found out years later your mother was already pregnant with you and Jake. Everyone had lied to us. They were deceitful. We couldn’t trust any of them.” My father hugged my mother. “We decided it was best that we vanished.” He added. “I was really good friends with Axel’s father hence he agreed to aid us with everything, avoiding leaving any traces behind. He took us in and that is when I became his beta.” My tears began to pour down my face. “Do you have any idea why he or they did what they did?” Eden finally spoke. “We might have a theory.” My father began. “There is an old folklore in our pack that there would be a powerful wolf born to two powerful Alphas. Well, it so happened that I was the Alpha of our old pack. Vanessa was my Luna, and she came from an Alpha herself. When Jadiel was born, he was strong but not as strong as they claimed. When Gabriel was born, they thought that he was the powerful wolf because according to them the mighty wolf would be born in September. It so happened that Gabriel was born in September.” I don’t think I could handle anymore. “When he was born everyone was so enthusiastic being around him. Until he was 5 months old, he was taken from us, and we were never the same. We had to learn to live with the pain of knowing we couldn’t do anything to bring him back to us.” My father continued. “When we finally vanished and began our new life Taelyn and Jake were born. They were born in March, as they got older, we noticed something was off. Tae was stronger than we knew then it began making sense. When she finally shifted, we had no doubt that indeed she was the powerful wolf that would resurrect the monarchy. We tried keeping her hidden, but she is so stubborn, we decided to send her away to keep from prying eyes and ears.” My father stated. “What are you talking about?” Eden growled. I placed my hands around his neck to calm him down. “When I was 14 my parents sent me and Jake away because we were causing too much trouble in the pack. Or so I thought.” I feel like my whole life has been a lie. How should I process this whole situation? “Now, I come to find that I was sent away to protect me from an old folklore. That my life has been turned upside down finding out my life is at stake and that I have a lost brother that could be your Gamma.” I uttered. “Now Cain is back looking for the powerful wolf and for some unknown reason he is able to come into my dreams and have a conversation with me as if we were having one in person.” I pointed out. “What do you mean, Taelyn?” My father questioned. “Yes, my lovely uncle has been showing up in my dreams. He is the one that began this whole fiasco divulging how you guys were keeping a secret and that someone or something is coming for me, apparently.” I blurted. “He even showed up at the dress shop when I was searching for a dress for my date with Eden.” A shiver ran down my back giving me goosebumps. “Could that be possible?” Eden asked raising an eyebrow. “I do not know.” My father responded. “Maybe if he is working with sorcerers.” My mother whispered. If it wasn’t for our enhanced hearing, we might have missed her input.  Could that be possible? “Who might have any knowledge about that subject?” Eden inquired. Before my mother could open her mouth there was a knock on the door. “Come in.” He roared. “What is going on, son?” Stephan inquired. “It is not my place to say, father.” Eden responded. He glanced at my mother and father. They both sigh. “I think it is time for us to let everyone in on the big secret.” My father uttered. Eden nodded. Well, this is not going to be a pleasant conversation to have with my brother’s much less with the most affected one. Gabriel. We all exited Eden’s office and sauntered to the kitchen where apparently everyone had decided to spend all their time. I don’t blame them. Although right now the last thing I wanted was food. When we walked in everyone’s eyes were on us. Eden cleared his throat. “We have some important matters to discuss.” He expressed. “Meet us at the conference room tomorrow after breakfast.” He commanded. Everyone had a puzzled look. “Now I’ll be taking Tae to get some rest. She has had an eventful day.” He stated to no one in particular. I was glad that he took me away from the whole commotion that was about to erupt when we left without telling them why we had to meet at the conference room tomorrow. I could have been selfish, but I needed time to process the whole point. From finding out that I have another brother to being the powerful wolf that will bring monarchy back to life. That my life is being threatened by family members that I didn’t even know existed. As soon as we left the kitchen Eden wrapped his hands around me lifting me up as I wrapped my legs around his waist and carried me to the room. I didn’t notice when I began crying. When we finally made it to the room, I was exhausted. My brain was in overdrive and all I wanted was to sleep. Eden had a different thought when he took me into the bathroom and turned on the water faucet in the tub. He helped me undress while the bathtub filled up. When it was to the level, he wanted he turned it off. Eden helped me get into the water and as soon as I sat down the hot water relaxed my body. The sun came out too soon. I was dreading that meeting I did not want to be there and see how my brothers’ and sister’s life came crumbling down like mine did. I got up and went to shower while Eden was still asleep. The water was hitting my muscles and I just stood under the water until I felt Eden giving me a kiss on the forehead. “Love, are you okay?” He asked. I nodded. He helped me shower and wrapped me with a towel then he wrapped a towel around his waist. He took my hand in his hand dragging me to the room and sat me down on the edge of the bed. “Can we just stay in the room forever?” I battered my eyes at Eden causing him to chuckle. “That sounds like a great idea but not today, love.” He stated. Ugh why did he have to be so responsible. We got dressed and made our way down to the kitchen. I wasn’t hungry however according to Eden I must eat something. “Are you regretting your decision of marking me?” I stared at Eden. He stopped dead on his track. “Honey, I will never regret marking you. Even with all the family drama that is about to ensue.” Eden gave me a quick peck on the lips. I gave him a small smile and we continue walking to the kitchen. As soon as we walked in, I was hit with a delicious aroma of pancakes eggs and bacon. My stomach made a funny noise which cause amusement on Eden as he chuckled. One of the kitchen aides set the plate in front of me and I did not even wait for her to set Eden’s in front of him when I gobbled down everything. “Would you like some more, Luna?” One of the kitchen aides asked. “Oh no, thank you, I’m good.” I rubbed my belly. They chuckled. “I’ll take some coffee, though.” I smiled at her. She prepared my coffee while I stared at Eden. He tried to give me some of his pancakes. “Nooooo, if I have one more bite, I’m going to explode.” Everyone laughed. Denisse who is the kitchen aide placed my coffee on the table and went back to cook the rest of the food for the rest of the pack. Once Eden was done eating, we headed to the conference room. Everyone was already waiting for us. Obviously, the conversation did not go well. My brothers were not happy that my parents kept all those secrets from us. My parents did not disclose that they have a hunch that Gabriel might be that lost brother. This is only going to get worse. After the dreaded meeting everyone left except Gabriel. “Can I ask you a question?” He stared at me. I nodded. “Am I your lost brother?” He continued. I gazed at him; I could not lie to him as much as my parents wanted to wait to tell him until they could prove it. The can of worms have been opened and nothing will be able to stop what we are going to have to deal with. “We think you are.” I muttered. My eyes filled up with tears. I did not want him to push me away and reject me. I stood up from my chair trying to keep myself from having a panic attack. He got up and walked towards me enveloping into a tight hug. I couldn’t hold in my tears anymore. These were happy tears though. “I’m so sorry Gabriel. I’m sorry that you had to grow up without a family.” I sobbed on his chest. “I’m sorry that we were not there for you.” He pulled away. “It’s not your fault little sis.” He gave me a sweet smile. “You were not even born yet. You were not responsible.” He had me sit back down on the chair and he sat next to me. “It is none of our fault. I did not have a bad childhood and well your mom and dad suffered losing me.” He gave me another hug. “Alright, that’s enough hugging.” Eden complained.
