Eden Jadiel, Jake, Nic and I got in the SUV along with Gabriel, Luke, and Tyler. Once we arrived at my parents' house I notice Eden's rigid posture and I squeezed his hand in reassurance as he gave me a feeble smile. When we walked in the house as my father was walking towards us and he froze as soon as he noticed Eden. "Hello, father, good afternoon." I smiled at him.
"Alpha." He nodded at Eden as everyone else walked in. Alright then he can ignore me then. "Come on in." We headed to his office.
"Good morning Mr. Marquez, I'm Alpha Eden Bradshaw and I wish to speak to you privately." My father's eyes widened as I let out a small chuckle causing my father to give me a disapproving look and Eden winked at me.
"Of course, everyone else please leave." He ordered and they all obliged while I stayed there. "Taelyn Yanely didn't you listen?" He was already glaring at me.
"Actually, it concerns your daughter so she needs to be present." Eden said, calmly. 'What did you do?' My father mind-linked me.
"Nothing father your lack of trust in me is so hurtful." I mocked hurt, which caused Eden to shake his head. "Eden." Before I could continue my father interrupted me.
"Alpha Eden, Taelyn." He corrected me and I shook my head while Eden smirked smugly that pompous Alpha.
"Actually father, Eden, as I was saying before being cut off so rudely is my second chance mate." I said and his eyes changed colors. Uh-oh, I don't think that was a good idea.
"What?" He roared. "Second chance? Who dared to reject my daughter?" I rolled my eyes, our damn egotistical Alpha.
"Father its fine calm down." I kiss his cheek as soon as I made my way to him.
"Who rejected you, princess?" His voice softened.
"A bogus mutt, daddy, but let it be look I scooped an amazing Alpha. You should be proud." I tried to change the subject from that oaf. Eden was staring at me amused.
"I would like to ask for your permission to court Taelyn." I cringed as he used my complete name again and my father stayed quiet.
"Tae." I corrected him, causing my father to chuckle.
"It would be a pleasure. Do take good care of her she's my princess and I'll kill whomever makes her suffer." He suppressed a grin.
"Understood Mr. Marquez." Eden said, astonished at my father's words as he had just threatened an Alpha.
"Please call me Max." He looked at Eden then at me. "After all you'll be my son-in-law soon." I felt my cheeks crimson causing Eden to chuckle.
"Good. Also I want to let you know that I want to take Taelyn." Again. I growled causing him to stare at me and my father to chuckle.
"She hates being called Taelyn. Everyone always calls her Tae, except when we are angry at her." My father explained for Eden's sake.
"Sorry, love." I smiled at his affectionate response in front of my father. "Anyways, I want to take Tae out tonight on a date." He said bluntly, not leaving space for discussion. My father nodded as my mother walked in. Though before she was able to say anything my mind-link received signals alerting of an attack. Damn rogues they don't understand that I deserve to be happy. I dashed out of the office without saying a word along with Diesel, Jadiel, and Jake. We galloped towards the packs house and several rogues were surrounding some members that were not trained to fight them off. We were waiting to attack when Eden, Gabriel, Luke, and Tyler sneaked next to us. "Next time, inform me." He said irked.
I ignored him waiting for Diesel's signal to jump in. When he did, we all shifted mid-air and began liquidating every single one of them. Everyone was fighting a rogue when I observed two rogues sauntering their way towards me as if I was their prey, which of course I was. I kept my gaze on them waiting for one of them to approach me or attack me. Once they were near me they began to growl and I smirked inwardly because obviously wolves can't smirk. They began to circle around me keeping their gaze firmly at me analyzing every single movement I made, which was none for their displeasure. Both decided to attack, as they lunged at me, I ducked before they almost got a hold of me causing them to crash into each other. While one was regaining consciousness, I annihilated the other one immaculately waiting for the other one to be conscious before he suffers the same ending as the others. When he finally was able to stand he glanced at the other rogue and howled in pain, I assume they were extremely close. He growled, snarled at me as he tried to sink his canines on my neck I was quicker and I sank mine on his and he began to trash under my grip causing me to tighten it a bit more increasing his pain but not killing him rapidly. When he finally bled out I let my grip on him go and when I glanced around I noticed everyone fighting one rogue at a time while I had to fight off two. I didn't see the Alpha and as I kept searching, I scanned near the house and my eyes locked with his as he stood inside his office gazing through his window. I narrowed my eyes at him and looked away. We have a cunt, as an Alpha. When all the rogues were vanished Diesel, Eden, Gabriel, Jadiel, Jake, Luke, and Tyler dashed towards me asking if I was okay.
"Did you get hurt?" Eden asked. I shook my head as I was in deep thought, wondering why two rogues attacked me. "Where's the Alpha?" Well that bastard is hiding in his cowardly cave.
"He's in his office." Jadiel said. "We have a meeting in five minutes."
"What is he going to say?" I asked bitterly. "That he was too scared to come out and fight?" That piece of s**t can't even defend his pack.
"Taelyn." Jadiel roared. Well damn, I know they're friends, but he needs to know.
Our Alpha decided to come out of his hiding place and speak to the warriors as if he had been there fighting alongside with us. "I want to thank every single one of you that exposed their life to protect the pack along with your Alpha, Luna, and future Alpha." I chuckled which did not go unnoticed by him that I received a murderous glare from him and Eden's hand gripped mine tighter. He also said that we were going to have more patrols protecting the land due to the increase of attacks. I zoned out after that not really interested in what he had to say. I honestly don't know how they trusted me with such an important title. When we were dismissed we began making our way back to my parents' home and Eden had his arm around my shoulders. 'Tell them.' Ava said. 'No. What if it was a mere coincidence?' 'Let them decide.' 'I don't want to worry them for nothing.' 'Let them be the judge of that. Especially our mate.' 'Fine.'
I cleared my throat. "Guys," I swallowed the huge lump that had formed in my throat. "I have something to tell you." I said, rubbing my hands together and they all suddenly stopped.
"What happened?" Jake asked. "I can feel your anxiousness." Eden's, Gabriel's, Luke's, and Tyler's expression was priceless.
"I'll explain later." I glanced at Eden. "Well, while you guys were fighting off one rogue at a time, two rogues attacked me." I said.
"What?" They all said simultaneously. My brother's and Eden's eyes kept changing color and their wolves' trying to take control over them.
"Why didn't you ask for help?" Gabriel asked. Seriously dude, I can take care of myself.
"I'm a warrior I can protect myself." I roared. "I was trained for these kind of cases I am more than capable of protecting myself. I just thought you all needed to know, but I guess I was wrong." My rage kept rising.
"Jae." Jadiel warned me. "Excuse my sister, she is very edgy to sexist comments." He told Gabriel in order to excuse my outburst.
"I didn't mean it like that. Sorry." Gabriel said. Eden tried to calm me down, pulling me close to his chest and it worked.
"It's fine." I said. "I don't know what happened that I simply snapped."
"We'll talk about this when we get home." Jake said. We began walking again as if nothing happened. When we arrived my parents were waiting for us along with Adanely and Nic.
"What happened?" My father asked.
"There was a rogue attack." Jadiel said. "We need to clear a subject father, can we go to your office?" My father had a concern expression nonetheless he obliged. All the guys and myself followed him to his office. Once inside, he took a seat in his chair behind the desk that belonged to my grandpa.
"Speak." He said. He went straight to the point as he always does.
"While we were fighting off the rogues each one of us only had to fight one by one, but Tae was attacked by two at the same time." Jadiel said. Once he said that my father jerked up from his seat.
"What?" He roared. "WHY?" His growl shook the entire house.
"You can't tell mom, dad." I said. If he does my mother is capable of tying me to the bed and locking my door.
"Why would two wolves want to attack you while the rest only fights one?" He arched his eyebrow. I shrugged, not knowing the answer to his question. I don't think they would know I was Axel's mate, would they?
"We'll do some research on the rogues that attack." Diesel said. Before we were able to say another word my mother walked in again.
"What's going on?" She asked curiously.
"Nothing mum, we were addressing the attacks those rogues keep perpetrating." Jadiel said. I mouth him a thank you and he nodded.
"Guys can you please go to the living room with Adanely and Nic while I speak to Alpha Eden, my wife, and Taelyn." My brothers and Diesel all smirked smugly while Eden's pack members all nodded leaving the office. "Anyways, Hun, I want you to officially meet Alpha Eden, our daughter's second chance mate." My father said smugly.
"Second chance? Why? Taelyn Yanely Marquez what happened?" She shouted, causing Eden to growl at her for yelling at me and I rolled my eyes.
"Momma, calm down you're stressing my mate." I rubbed my hand up and down Eden's back. "My first mate rejected me because I was not responsible or mature enough. I'll speak to you later my ex-mate is not important and shouldn't be our focus of discussion right now after I was granted a second chance mate." I said.
"No one rejects my baby and gets away with it." My mother hissed.
"Love, calm down, this won't change a thing." My father tried to calm her down. "Now, going back to the subject," He stared at me. "Are you going out tonight?" He asked.
"Not tonight, Tae, must be tired because I know it was a long day." Eden said. Thank the heavens, I am tired. My father nodded and we excused ourselves after a few minutes. We left my father's office and we headed towards the game room where everyone was laughing and talking.
"Do you think that my father is going to give him hell?" Jake asked as we stopped outside the room.
"Yes, you know that Adanely and Tae are his princesses and when he finds out who's the lout that rejected her, hell is going to break loose." Jadiel said, his voice filled with so much rage that will have anyone's knees trembling like an earthquake.
"You guys are wrong." We stepped in and everyone went mute. "You guys will never know who my ex-mate was at least not by me. I don't want you all trying to let hell break loose as you just indicated." I said as I glanced at Gabriel, Luke, and Tyler were clearly mind-linking with Eden. When Gabriel locked his gaze with mine, I stared at his deep icy blue eyes and the longer I stared the more I got lost in those beautiful eyes as if I knew him from somewhere a shiver ran through my body.
"Babe?" Eden snapped me out of my trance. "Are you okay?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yea, I am." I answered. We watched a couple of movies and ordered some pizza for dinner. Around ten at night Eden, Gabriel, Luke, and Tyler left to rest at the pack's house while the rest of us including Diesel stayed at my parents.
We had training at 5 in the morning like every day and today was no exception especially after the attack yesterday. "Alright let's get started, we are going to address the problem with the assistance of Alpha Eden from the Bloodmoon Pack." Axel gestured for him to go up to him. "He will be commanding some of his warriors to assist us with the rogue attacks we have been dealing with lately. We all remember that night they attacked us and how one of our best warriors was critically injured." He said. Eden stiffened, seriously why did he have to bring that up.
"Nonetheless she proved to be really strong that she fought through her injuries and we still have her here." Jadiel said. Everyone turned to gaze at me and I received sincere smiles to pity smiles which are the ones I hate the most. I loathe receiving pity from anyone and even though most people already know they continue to do it. Once the meeting ended, we began training and Eden never took his beautiful blue eyes away from me. Practice went by in a blink of an eye after we were done, we headed to my parent's home. Everyone went to the game room except Jake and me because we had to patrol. We were in the kitchen eating before we left when Eden walked in.
"Hey, love, at what time are you leaving?" Eden asked. Jake began making gagging noises and I glared at him, he winked at me.
"In 15 minutes." I said.
"When do you have time off?" He had his serious face.
"Until next Sunday. Jake and I are the only ones who get only one day off and that's what we get for being their best warriors." I said. Eden shook his head and Jake had a smug smirk on his face. 'Taelyn, you need to be here now.' Axel mind-linked me.
"Who mind-linked you?" Eden asked.
"Axel." Jake growled.
"How di-?" Eden raised his eyebrow but I cut him off before he could finish.
"Remember how people have been saying that Jake and I have a special connection well it's that we know what we are thinking it's better than mind-linking because I can't really block him it takes a lot of energy. I had been using it to block him from knowing who my ex-mate is." I said. Jake huffed as he stood up and stomped out of the kitchen.
"What did Axel want?" Eden asked.
"That I needed to be there now. I guess I'll be leaving now." I said. I stood up and Eden held my hand pulling me to his chest.
"I'll be going with you then." He said. We left the house and Jake wasn't so keen about it but got over it soon. He said he rather me be with Eden than with the stupid oaf that rejected me, especially because Eden did not reject me.
