Eli: First, it was one week. I was allowed to get up, but my mother limited my activities to going to the bathroom and watching tv. Then it was two weeks, then three, then four. I was practically fully functioning by that time and anxious. Everyone’s daily routines seemed to stay the same. The girls went to school and then their various practices only to arrive home at seven or later, after mom had left for work. Grace seemed to fit into this life.
