Eli: There was no beeping when I woke up. There was no happy numbness that you should after being shot. There was no bright lights in my sleep and me deciding I needed to come back home. It was like sleeping for a really long time and then just waking up. Birds chirped outside my open window and I raised my head to look around the sunlit room. I knew almost instantly where I was.
