Chapter 3

**Alex**

I blush as Thomas finishes his speech. " Alright how about I show Sabre where he will be staying while he is here and then while Sabre gets settled in I will show Van where she will be staying. Then about six we will have dinner in the dining hall on the second floor since the first floor dining hall is currently being prepped for tomorrow. After dinner I would like to show Van around some so she gets a bit of a feel for the place." I finish and we head up the stairs to the third floor where I show Sabre his room at the end of the hallway. "Thomas please help Sabre get settled in and if he needs anything get it if possible." I leave Sabre and Thomas as me and Savannah go to my office a few more flights up. We turn the corner to the hallway and she says" my this is a beautiful hallway."" Yes," I reply." I had it painted so I could feel like I was in the forest when I leave my office. We walk to my office in the middle of the hallway and I show her where we had met a few months prior. Then we continue down the hall to the stairs that lead up to my room and we walk up into the tower.

"This is the Alpha room which is also now your room too and don't worry there is more to this room than it looks. It has a good size kitchen, living room, a balcony that goes all the way around it, two closets and a huge bathroom." I say as i sat down on the bed motioning for her to sit beside me. As she goes to sit down her hand touches mine and our first touch causes the lights to go out. I laugh and quickly notice she is white as a ghost." What's wrong?" I ask." Its not like you turned the lights out." She replies as they come back on, "Yes, i kinda did. I have magic that runs on my dads side and between first shifting and learning about my magic I can barely control it and when we touched just now I lost control and caused an electric shock to turn the lights out. Do you have a flashlight? I can show you with it." I go and grab a flashlight and hand it to her. Taking it she turns it on and tells me to watch the light. As i watch the light it flickers and goes out the lights in my room also flicker but don't go out this time. The the lights stop flickering and the flashlight comes back on. I sat there amazed at what she just did. She then explains she has better control over flame and can block magic attacks and do light healing such as minor burns and scrapes but with practice she hopes to be able to do even more. I tell her I whole section dedicated to magic and the arcane in the library if she would like me to show her after dinner. She agrees and she shows me her flame skill by lighting the fireplace across the room without burning anything. It was like she was a dragon when she shot the flame at the logs. Iask if she would like to try lighting a candle and she agrees. I bring one and she tries almost succeeding before Thomas mind links me.

"Alpha. It is almost time for dinner. I hope your not in the middle of mating but Sabre would like to speak with you over dinner."

" STOP CALLING ME ALPHA! Thomas you don't have to call me Alpha all the time. I don't want to call you Beta all the time. We have known each other since we were born call me Alexander or Alex unless we are in front of company such as tomorrow night. And no were not mating just talking. We will be right down."

We head down to dinner and Savannah tells her dad she can almost control her flame enough to light a candle. He looks at me and I explain that I have a section in my library dedicated to that stuff and I wasn't to surprised when she accidently shut off the lights when brushing my hand and then proceeded to show me she can shut off a flashlight and light the fireplace. "That is great news since she surpasses me already and has powers that I only heard stories about." Sabre finishes saying before a server brings our food. We sit and eat chatting over random stuff and and about the party tomorrow. Before dinner was done Savannah's hand slips into mine and the lights turn off a few seconds later the center of the table lights on fire. Thomas starts freaking out and Sabre and Savannah is sitting there laughing. I'm about to get up when Savannah looks at me and says, "Relax there is a firepit in the table. See." I follow her finger and realize I had completely forgot about the tables all having firepits built into the centers even the ones in the garden has them which makes it great for winter gatherings or cool mountain nights. The lights turn back on and the fire goes out and Savannah says she would like that tour now.

I show her around the manor and we end at the library where i show her the arcane section. She seems excited and walks along the shelves before finding an old leatherbound copy that has an old mark on the cover she recognizes from her childhood with her grandparents. She flips quickly through the book and says she will start to read it later tonight if she can. We head out the library and back to my room where I grab a blanket a pillow so I can sleep on the couch till she is ready for me to sleep beside her. We talk for a bit before I head to the bathroom to change and go to bed. She begins reading the book but only gets a few pages in before she is out. I kiss her head and tuck her into bed. I go to the couch and lay down. I am looking forward to our lunch date tomorrow followed by the party in the garden.
