The forest of darkness was known as a forbidden place by all mages, if we put it in strick terms, there were a lot of places that were far more 'dangerous' places in the country, however, the dark forest has a special trait that makes it so special, the forest was so deep and dark that made it almost impossible to find any kind of corpses, so, in other words, if you die in the dark forest, you will never be found.
This makes it a convenient place for murderers.
"I now understand why Leonardo chose this place" Said Noah.
They were now at the entrance of the forest of darkness, the road didn't allow carriages to pass, so the rest of the way must be on foot.
"Once we enter, there is no turning back, you guys understand?" Said Angeline.
"Yes" Said Teo and April.
"And you guys?"
Noah and Hope nodded.
"Okay... let's go"
On Angeline's hand, a small blue light appeared.
"I will dim the light little by little, the further we enter, the dark becomes deeper so we must get used to the darkness, what's more, if we have light, we will be an easy target not only for Leonardo but also for the beast in this forest, so prepare yourself" Said Angeline.
The group entered into the forest and, little by little, the darkness engulfed them until they disappeared from sight.
Noah looked at the sides and could feel creatures looking at them.
"I can tell that there are a lot of predators here, but why are they not attacking?" Said Noah.
"That's a bit strange, usually, these creatures are not so intelligent as the ones in the deeper parts, so they attack withouth thinking, well, it might be because they are also very instinctive creatures and know that they will get themselves killed by attacking us" Said Angeline.
"It might be" Said Teo.
Noah turned around and saw a few bats flying behind him, he wasn't scared though, on his time on earth, he had visited a few caves where bats live, they were, in fact, docile creatures if you didn't bother them.
However, this didn't surprise Noah, what it did surprise him were the colors of the eyes, they were scarlet red.
"Noah, be careful, although those bats are not a treat, their bite hurts a lot" Angeline notice that they were being followed by bats.
April became alert and was ready to attack the bats the moment they try anything on Noah.
Noah didn't hear Angeline and keep looking at the bats.
"Ah, I remember" Thought Noah.
He kept having the feeling that he had to see the bats somewhere, he finally remembered where.
"They were 'food' bats" Though Noah.
In WOA there was an item that let you summon familiars to fight with you, this item was called Necronomicon and summoned random creatures, one of these creatures was the friendly bat, or also known as the 'food' bat by the veteran players, they were creatures with low attack that serve as scouting familiars, they were used as sentinels that scouted the move of the enemy, the advantage was that the area of vision was amazing, the disadvantage was they die with one hit and gave a lot of money.
"If I remember correctly, the lore of these creatures said that they eat magic and were friendly creatures... but Angeline and April seemed to be a bit afraid of them..." Though Noah.
"Wait a minute" Said Noah.
Everyone stopped and looked at Noah come closer to the bats.
"You finally decided to get rid of them" Said Angeline with a sigh of relief.
"Not exactly" Said Noah.
The bats didn't fall back nor attack, they just looked at Noah curiously.
When Noah came closer, he saw that there were almost ten bats following them.
Noah lifted his small hand and extracted a bit of his mana.
"Here" Said Noah.

"Noah!?" April panicked.
Why? because she saw that the bat landed on Noah's hand small hand and began to 'bite' it.

Suddenly, the mana on Noah's hand reduced a bit and the bat floated and floated in circles around Noah's head.
Noah made his own body glow in mana and the bats surrounded him!

"???" Everyone heard the cheerful voice of Noah who was being surrounded by the bats.
After some seconds, the first bat made a small 'Yii~' and the other bats flow to the side, Noah's mana had being eaten by the bats.
The first bat, which was floating on Noah's head, landed on Noah's shoulder and licked his face.
"This..." Said Angeline stunned.
Noah caressed the bat.
"Can you guys help us scouting the area?" Asked Noah.
"Yii~"
The bats nodded and went on their way.
"Yii?"
"Thanks, by the way, how should I call you?" Asked Noah.
"Yii, Yii?"
"I see, then, how about... Scarlet?"
"Yii!"
"A pleasure to meet you then, Scarlet"
Noah played with the bat, Scarlet, who was happily floating above his head.

Teo nodded and took out a bit of his mana and offered it to Scarlet.
Scarlet flow and smelled the mana.

He seemed to dislike it and flow back to Noah's shoulder.
"What's wrong?" Asked Noah.

"What is he saying?" Asked Teo.
"He says that it stinks" Said Noah.
"..." Teo was speechless.
