Elemental Wolf Discovery Beginnings

QUICK NOTICE FOR THIS CHAPTER: Read this chapter with caution. There are brief mentions of intense violent abuse that may be triggering for some people. It's not intentional but is a needed element of the overall book. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Laurel and Karrah have been pouring through as many of the Temple's Ancient documents as possible... piecing together as much as they could, writing it all down in their notes for the majority of the last three days, now. "Well, Karrah, this was the last of the documents in the library. We'll have to check the Temple's Archives next. Did you find anything?" Karrah stretched in her seat before picking up her notes. "There's a lot of repeated information, but I was able to gather a few details. Elemental wolves are truly rare. In ancient times, they were extremely common and considered an extension of The Moon Goddess. This is because of their easy communication with her. The Moon Goddess blessed them all with the ability to summon all the elements, as well as all our normal abilities. Elemental wolves can mind link with all werewolves, no matter what pack they're in. With enough practice, they can even mind link other species. They're also able to use their abilities without having to shift partially let alone fully with complete ease, while other werewolves have to take time to learn and train." Karrah started. Laurel nodded her head as she stood up and walked to the window of her office in her chambers. "That sounds like what I found, too. I also found that the reason they're so rare now is because of an over-ambitious Alpha. He started a war that almost wiped them out. It's why the surviving Elemental Wolves are now in hiding. It doesn't give his name, nor the names of his parents. It does say that he was the first werewolf that was half elemental, with blood-red fur. This Alpha was a master at deception and war. The text describes him as power-hungry and wanted to dominate the whole race. He could hide his true thoughts and intentions from everyone, including the Moon Goddess. He was able to over-power the natural mate bond of any she-wolf he wanted and steal her away from her mate. He then killed them. He was also able to sense any elemental wolf, no matter their location. It also said that he gathered as many of the elemental wolves as he could and imprisoned them, believing one of them was his actual true mate. He enslaved many she-wolves and put them together in a Harem... in individual cages the size of dungeon cells." Laurel paused for a minute as she turned towards Karrah and walked back to her desk. "The text refers to a Highly Blessed Elemental wolf that was of Royal blood... saying that her wolf never truly dies, and just goes from vessel to vessel on behalf of the Moon Goddess. Whichever vessel she goes to is born with her already awake, full use of all the powers of an Elemental wolf, all the memories of the vessels before her, and war abilities that'd rival Athena, Artemis, and Ares. The name of this undying Ancient Elemental wolf is Amethyst." Karrah's eyes widened in shock. After a few moments, she spoke. "So...Sable is Amethyst's new vessel. Does it say anything else, Mom?" "Amethyst's first vessel was his true mate, not actual true mate. She was forced into submission in many ways... and forced to give him access to all her abilities." Laurel responded. "I don't understand. How?" Karrah asked in confusion. "This Alpha was similar to a psychic vampire in the sense that his mating mark gave him the ability to drain the she-wolf's life force while simultaneously accessing any ability or abilities that he didn't possess. He also possessed the rare ability to block the mate bond when he chose to. The text says that he was cruel and heartless, and had a goal of extending his bloodline worldwide and he wanted to corrupt the Elemental wolves. It says that he called the she-wolves in his Harem s*x slaves, and would constantly beat and r**e them into submission. When he tired of them or they fulfilled their assigned purpose, he'd either kill them or nearly kill them and throw them out into the woods." "Does it say whether any of them made it?"Karrah asked, unable to help herself. "It says that a few escaped the Harem and a small handful managed to survive the near-death throw into the woods. A few were pregnant. I haven't found anything yet to tell me anything else on the she-wolves. However, it says that this Alpha underestimated Amethyst. The text mentions a massive ritualistic spell that he set up and performed. It required thirty-six she-wolves surrounding an altar... virgins. The text doesn't go into full detail, but it states that he went to each she-wolf in turn, clockwise, ripped their clothes off, r***d them, and then killed them. This ritualistic spell is believed to have killed ninety-eight percent of the elemental wolf population. It's not documented, as far as I can tell, what happened to this Alpha. A prophecy is mentioned, though I haven't found the details. That's why we need the Archives." Laurel finished. Meanwhile in Sable's chambers, Sable slept soundly in her crib while Amethyst, her wolf, meditated and spent time gathering her memories and searching her new vessel, Sable, for any new abilities that she may be required to practice herself to gain the ability to use smoothly. Amethyst knew she was needed in this life in what was to come... and she knew she was in a better situation in this life with stronger, more determined allies. She could tell that Sable was much stronger than her other vessels, despite that being the intention since her first vessel, and could better prepare. She also needed to ensure that she retrieved her journals to help those around her in this life. Thanks to her gift of foresight, she knew that this was going to end a struggle that passed through centuries barely noticed by most. Karrah peeked through the adjoining door from her mother's chambers and checked on Sable, which was pretty easy since her chamber was directly between her and her mother's chambers. Seeing that she was sleeping soundly, Karrah returned to her mother's chamber office and sat at the desk opposite Laurel. "Do the documents say anything else, Mom?" Laurel sighed, a bit hesitant. "I found rumors about what happened to this Alpha. Some of them say that he was put in a magickal coma because he couldn't be killed. Others say he was turned to stone. Even more, say that the gods trapped him with the Titans. Some say the vessel died while his wolf lived on in physical wolf form, roaming the world looking for a suitable new vessel to finish what he started. That same one says that the Alpha's wolf corrupted him from a very young age, believing that he should rule over all werewolves. He believed himself to be on the level of Deities. The Moon Goddess bound him to Earth to keep him away from all Higher Beings." Karrah shook her head in disbelief. "This Alpha and his wolf sounds insane," she whispered as she walked over to her mother and sat back down at her table. After a few moments, Karrah spoke again, just above a whisper. "Is there anything else about Amethyst? Maybe even Sable?" "Each vessel that Amethyst chooses, is stronger than the last. the document that mentions the Alpha's wolf says that Amethyst's appearance doesn't change and that she can appear outside of her vessel. She also can show herself in humanoid form. She's the only elemental wolf with this ability, which makes Sable the most important elemental wolf since Amethyst's first vessel. If I've interpreted the documents right, she was the very first Werewolf Queen. Based on that, I think Sable's mate will be either a member of the Royal family or an Alpha." Laurel said. "From what we've found out so far, I think you're right. Maybe Amethyst will be able to help us discover more about this alpha and his wolf, too. Moon Goddess said that the rogues were after Sable. Maybe there's a connection between what we found and the rogues." Karrah responded. "Maybe. Hopefully, when we check the Archives, we'll be able to find out more." Laurel stated. "I agree. I wonder how much of the document regarding Amethyst's memory is accurate." Karrah questioned. Suddenly, Amethyst's voice fills Laurel's chamber office. "I remember almost everything. What I don't will be in my journals in my library under Mt. Seeker." They turned towards her voice and saw a beautiful she-wolf with waist-long deep purple-black wavy hair and eyes swirling with all the colors of the elements. She was built like a warrior... with just the right amount of muscle, a gorgeous tan, and plump full lips. "Please don't be alarmed. You're my foster mother and grandmother, after all. I've been around for a long time, so I'll do my best to answer your questions." "We're not alarmed, my dear. We're surprised." Laurel responded. Amethyst smiled at that. "That's good." Amethyst stated with relief. "Amethyst... what can you tell us about the over-ambitious Alpha and his wolf?" Karrah asked. Amethyst's eyes widened briefly before responding. "He's a monster. Both of them. Especially his wolf, Lucius. They beat, r**e, and kill maliciously... if it's even possible, Lucius is the worse. Lucius chose all the virgins for the ritual. They were barely out of childhood. They kept them all in a separate area of the Harem... chained and locked away. They were fed three times a day and kept well hydrated. They wanted them healthy for the ritual. The others...we were kept on the other side where multiple times a day, one or all of us were beaten or r***d. Sometimes both. The ritual bound his wolf Lucius permanently to him. Alpha Argus and Lucius were both out at the same time from then on. Things only got worse from there. I was his mate... and treated worse than the s*x slaves... used as a breeder. After they were weaned, they took them from us. Eventually, werewolves, witches, vampires, lycans, and dragons all worked together and trapped him in stone since we couldn't kill him." "So they're still alive?" Laurel asked in shock. "Yes. And they may be free now." "By the Gods!" They exclaim.
