Setting up at the Temple

2205 Words
Head High Priestess Laurel awoke to the first rays of the sunrise happier than she's been for a long time, smiling as she remembered her wish granted to be mated to her truest and only love, Vestuvious. Laurel bit her bottom lip gently and turned towards him. She was met with glistening eyes and a smile of his own. "Morning, Mate." she said gently. " Morning, Mate... my beloved." Vestuvious answered as he wrapped his left arm around her waist. Holding her gaze, he slowly brought his left arm along her body up to her face where he caressed her cheek before gently covering her lips with his own. They moaned in pleasure and allowed themselves to enjoy each other fully in intimate worship of The Moon Goddess. Hours later, they got up out of bed. Vestuvious went to the bathroom and took a shower while Laurel sent a magickal message to have the necessary renovations to permanently attach the smaller chambers next to Karrah and Maxius' chambers, with instructions to set it up as a nursery for Sable. Just as Vestuvious finished his shower, Laurel went into the bathroom herself for a shower... kissing him when he looked at her. "Mmmmnn. I can get used to this." Vestuvious said huskily. Laurel chuckled and responded. "So can I. I missed this." "Me, too." they smiled at each other. "Go ahead and go to the mess hall and get something to eat. You can wake up Karrah and Maxius on the way, darling. It'll help you get to know our daughter. I'll meet you there after I finish my shower." "Alright. I love you, Laurel." he said. "I love you too, Ves." she responded as she stepped into the shower and turned the hot water on. A few minutes later, Vestuvious was knocking on Karrah and Maxius' chamber door. Moments later, Maxius answered the door, surprising Vestuvious. Smiling anyway, he nervously talked. "I was hoping you'd all join me in the mess hall. I'd like to get to know you and my daughter." Maxius smiled and stepped aside to allow Vestuvious to walk in. "Karrah will be out soon. She's bathing Sable." he said while leading him over to their couch. "Thank-you, son." Vestuvious responded with a nervous smile as he sat down. "Would you like some coffee?" Maxius asked Vestuvious as he went to the nearby table and poured himself a cup. "Sure... Black, please." Vestuvious responded as Maxius mixed in some hot cocoa. Maxius grabbed another coffee cup, poured him some coffee, and took it over to the nearby couch and chairs where Vestuvious was sitting. "Here you go." Maxius stated as he sat down himself. Vestuvious took it gratefully. "Thank-you, son."Vestuvious responded before taking a sip, sighing in contentment and surprise at the soothing flavor. "Is this violet and honey?" he asked Maxius, unable to hide his surprise. "Yes. Karrah said that it'll help us recover from the intense run, especially since we passed out at the door." Maxius responded simply with a hint of amusement and adoration in his voice. Vestuvious observed Maxius quietly for a few seconds and noticed his eyes were still swirling with the elemental colors before briefly settling on each color in turn. He saw Maxius' eyes glisten. Vestuvious decided to speak what was on his mind. "Maxius, I can see that you're happy to be mated to my daughter, and I'm really grateful for that." Maxius looked over to Vestuvious, so he continued. "I'm not at all sure what The Moon Goddess has in store for us all, but whatever it is... no matter how long I have with my daughter, please... take care of her. Keep her safe for as long as you can. Grow old with her... and don't take your time with her for granted." Maxius smiled and responded. "I will, dad." Maxius said genuinely before continuing. "I plan to ask the Temple for their blessing to hold a mating ceremony... and a guardianship ceremony to name Sable as our adopted daughter and the future of our pack, Midnight Sky." Vestuvious smiled as big as he could at this news, his excitement showing clearly. "Maxius, darling, will you grab Sable's blanket from the crib? I forgot it before her bath." Karrah called out from the bathroom area. "Of course, dear." Maxius replied loud enough for Karrah to hear his response. "Then we can go with them to the cafeteria." Maxius finished as he went to the crib, grabbed the blanket, and took it to Karrah. "Thanks, Maxius." she said as she fastened Sable's dress. It was a beautiful pastel purple with a dark purple-maned unicorn looking up at the moon, Did you say them?" Karrah asked curiously. "Yes, Karrah. Your father is on our couch. He wanted to go to the mess hall with us and Sable. I think he wants to get to know you." Karrah was quiet for a few moments. "Alright. Please take Sable so I can change. I like the idea of getting to know my father after being forced to grow up without him because of his assignment. This is a wonderful first step for us all... as a family." Karrah responded as Maxius carefully took Sable in his arms and gently kissed Karrah's lips. "We'll wait for you on the couch, dear." he said before walking out to Vestuvious, holding Sable protectively in his arms. "Sable's adorable, Maxius. I know that you'll both do well raising her." Vestuvious stated. "Thank-you, dad." Karrah said as she approached them. She decided to put on an ankle-length vibrant purple dress with a blood-red cloth tied around her waist, cut low enough to show a little cleavage. It was one of the dresses she left behind that immediately showed her as the Head Healer High Priestess of Mt. Seeker Temple. "That means a lot. Shall we head to the mess hall? They'll be here shortly to add Sable's chambers to ours, and it'll be easier for them to add them if we're not in here." They nodded and headed over to eat. ~ A Few Moments Later ~ Karrah, Maxius still holding Sable protectively, and Vestuvious walked into the cafeteria. Instantly, it went quiet and each of them stood up. In turn, each of them bowed their heads to them in respect. Jaylynne came up to them, bowed her head, and spoke. "Head High Priestess Healer Karrah, sirs, please follow me. We set up a special table for you all towards the front of the cafeteria by Head High Priestess Laurel's table. There's a crib there." "Alright." they said together as they followed her to their table, sitting down once they got there. Instantly, a small group from the cafeteria brought over a handful of different plates of food and pitchers of drinks, as well as goblets for each of them and a bottle of milk for Sable. "I hope you all enjoy your breakfast. Please signal for me if you need anything. If you like, I'll feed the baby." Jaylynne said reverently as she bowed her head. "Actually, I'd love the opportunity to feed my foster granddaughter." Vestuvious stated with his hope evident in his voice. Karrah smiled before responding and handing him the bottle. "Thank-you, Jaylynne. We'll signal for you if we need to. My father will feed young Alpha Sable." "As you wish, Priestess Healer Karrah." Jaylynne responded respectively before walking away as Maxius handed Vestuvious gently. Vestuvious graciously and carefully took Sable in his arms with a gentle smile full of glee and immediately started feeding her. After making sure that she was comfortable and eating well, he turned to Karrah and Maxius. "Thank-you for this. I missed everything with you, Karrah. I'll always be sorry for that. All I can do is be here now and into the future... if you'll allow me to be." Vestuvious said. Karrah smiled and responded. "I'd love that, dad. Are you really the King's Beta?" Vestuvious chuckled. "What do you mean, dad?" Karrah asked curiously. "My mother, your grandmother, was a lycan or a lycanthrope. My father was a normal wolf. An Alpha. He was the King's brother. They were killed during the rebellion from when the King was first crowned." "So... if my Uncle was the King's brother and you're his brother... what does that make you?" Karrah asked with evident confusion. "It makes me officially a Beta Prince." Their eyes went wide. Vestuvious looked down at Sable to find that she finished her bottle and was ready to be burped. He smiled gently at her before he gently placed her upright as he leaned back in his chair, placing her head on his chest. Holding her securely, radiating protective energy, he repeatedly tapped her back until he coaxed a burp out of her. Once Sable burped, she snuggled herself into his arms as deep as she could go, and fell asleep. To make sure she slept soundly and would stay asleep when he put her in the crib, he kept her secure in his arms and tucked her baby blanket around her snugly, and looked up to Karrah and Maxius. "This means that you yourself are of the Royal family. Your official title, including your Healer title, is Alpha Beta High Priestess Healer Princess." Karrah and Maxius sat there quietly as they absorbed the newest, and freshest, information... Maxius sitting there mainly for support. "Does Karrah have any Royal duties?" Maxius asked clearly. Vestuvious nodded his head slightly as he answered. "She has a few. My Uncle... our King wants to meet her first. Maxius with you, it's a little different. You have duties as well. You're now considered a Prince and will need to be trained by the Royal Guard. More will be decided later." They sat there for a few minutes before they heard light snoring from Sable, making them all smile. Slowly, Vestuvious got up and walked over to the crib that was placed about three feet away from their table, Once reaching it, Vestuvious slowly took Sable from his chest and laid her into the crib. "Sleep well, Little Alpha Sable." Vestuvious said as he covered her up with her blanket. When he turned around and headed back to the table, Vestuvious radiated contentment, happiness, and love from head to toe. "Well, dear... dad... with Sable asleep and in her crib, what do you both say we go ahead and eat?" Maxius asked. Right at that moment, Laurel walked up gracefully, wearing an ankle-length low-cut silver dress with a gold trim and a purple waistcloth that showed she's the Head High Priestess in charge of Mt.Seeker Temple. "That's a wonderful idea, son. Just one thing needs to be done first." she raised her left hand and waved it in a clockwise motion. Instantly, another table rose and floated over to their table. Right before their eyes, the table blended into their table... a new chair settling in beside Vestuvious. "That's better." Laurel said as she sat down beside Vestuvious. As she was sitting down, a temple member brought her a plate and a goblet. "Thank-you, Zarrah." Zarrah bowed her head in respect before responding. "You're welcome, Head High Priestess Laurel.". with that, she walked away, leaving them to their meal and conversation. "Day's Greetings, Mother. Are preparations going well?" Karrah asked. "Day's Greetings, Karrah. Yes, the preparations are going well. Only a little is left to finish connecting Sable's chambers. I have books and scrolls coming to my chambers about the hidden and forgotten arts, as well as the legend of the Elemental Luna. Copies should be going to your chambers. You should also be getting scrolls and books on military training and war tactics." Laurel responded. "Darling, my Uncle wants to come and meet our daughter. When do you think that will be possible?" Vestuvious asked. Laurel smiled and said simply: "Your Uncle's the King, Ves. He can come whenever he likes." Ves smiled before his eyes clouded slightly as he mind linked the King. "My Uncle's glad that we made it here. He said he'll keep us informed. For now, he wants us to recover from the attack." Vestuvious informed them as they all started to fill their plates and enjoy their food. For the next few hours, they spend the time in the mess hall eating and having a joyful conversation. Suddenly, a messenger spell bubble stopped in front of Karrah and popped. "Pardon the intrusion, High Priestess Head Healer Karrah. Young Sable's chambers have been officially added to your chambers, as well as the books and scrolls that were ordered are on both of your desks." With that, they all stood up. Karrah getting Sable, and headed back to their newly formed family chambers. Once inside, Karrah and Laurel went to Karrah's office area after Vestuvious gently took Sable from Karrah and sat down in the newly added nursery to play with Sable. "Holy Mother of Zeus! Mom, this is more research than I anticipated." Karrah said with shock. "Me, too." Laurel responded. "We better get to work." With that, they sat down and grabbed a book or a scroll, pen and paper, and started sifting through everything piece by piece.
