The Hybrid's Dangerous Thirst

“You meet thousands of people who don't connect with you. And to reveal a little secret, the Earth doesn't have only humans living on it. It connects several dimensions and sides apart from humans which consists of different supernatural creatures and a few immortals too. Ms Wilson was one of the supernatural creatures among them but something changed and now she is immortal and different from them. Now, she has control over their life too. Someone she will never forget in her life is a boy who is a vampire-werewolf hybrid, one of the strongest hybrids living on the planet. It was such a beautiful evening on her birthday. She was happily looking at the leaves falling until she glanced at her young mother sitting numbly beside her on the bench. She understood that her mother was thinking of something in her mind that made her stressed out. The mother glanced at her daughter and was happy to see her daughter smiling, but her daughter became quiet after a few minutes when she realized their situation. The little girl recalled something which made the beautiful evening unpleasant. It was her fifth birthday, which she was spending while sitting on the same bench they sit on every year on her birthday. They never cut cakes. She does not have any friends that comes to her home with gifts and neither her mother cooks good food for her on her birthday. The birthday was going the same way as her last four birthdays. No gift, no cake, no friends, no celebrations. Anyone of her age might feel the same way as she was feeling. Every little kid has their own expectations. They want his/her birthday to be celebrated with full enjoyment and fun, with lots of gifts, and friends around them being present in their happiness. And when it's the fifth birthday, then expectations are quite more for a kid like her. Especially from their parents. But that little child is tied to her limitations. Restrictions are caused by their financial problems. She couldn't insist on her mother doing anything for her, her mother already struggles a lot because of her. The little girl doesn't want her mother to suffer more. Their hands are tied to even think that they will ever be happy in their life. They aren't rich like the other lucky rich families living in the city. The little girl and her mother live in a small apartment with one room kitchen which is also on rent. The last house owner kicked them out from the house for not paying the rent for three consecutive months. Her father ran away when she was born. He didn't wanted her mother to get pregnant at the first place. And when he knew that it was a girl and not a boy, he simply ran away. The girl hates her father for abandoning her and her mother in a big world full of cruel and selfish people. For the little girl, her mother is only the one who is everything. She is her treasure, her doll, her best friend, her home, and the reason she is breathing today. Her mother has taken her care every day since she was born and will always take care of her until she is breathing. Both mother and daughter adore and love each other the most. They don't have anyone in this world other than each other to rely on in this cruel and selfish world. No relatives, no friends, no one except them both. “Baby,” her mother breathed out heavily before she continued her apologetic words. “Baby, I'm sorry for today too. It is your birthday and I couldn't gift you anything, I'm sorry for that,” The mother apologized to her daughter while running her hand back into her daughter's silky hair. The mother was upset and regretful of the decisions she has made in her life that her daughter has to suffer now. The small girl is too small to understand everything like this in such a small age but she understands it. “It's okay Mom. I'm happy that we both are together sitting here and enjoying the beautiful view,” the little girl said flashing a cherished smile on her face while glimpsing at her mother. “You gave me the birth and let me come to this world, that is the biggest gift for me Momma,” she added before hugging her mother tight. The mother smiled and nodded as she wrapped her arms around her small baby girl, rubbing her daughter's back and looking towards the beautiful citylights that are reflecting in the river. The citylights remind her of the day she made a decision to come into the city with a lot of dreams and hopes. But it shattered when the boy she loved, who promised to take her care, betrayed her. She left her studies and family for him and was shameful to go back to her home with the thought that her family will suffer more with her pregnancy before marriage. She hid it from everyone and decided to bring the child into the world as her child is the only one she has left in this world now. She hoped that she will make things go right but she hasn't succeeded yet and it hurts her to see her daughter not getting what she deserves. Meanwhile, two girls who were sitting on the bench beside them stood up to walk away on their way. They passed walking in front of them, busy talking to each other that they didn't even realize when the small purse of one girl fell on the ground. The mother saw the purse falling from the girl's pocket. She was about to stand and pick up that purse, happy that she would use the money in that purse for buying a gift for her daughter's birthday. Both mother and daughter might be innocent because of what happened in the past but the situation changes people at some point in time. Just the way, her mother changed herself. She knows how cruel the world is at each step and she doesn't want anyone to break her again. The mother has become an ordinary thief. She picks money fallen on the ground or steals from pockets or from any small stores to make money for their daily expenses and her daughter's tuition fees. Sometimes she gets caught up by the police but mostly she runs away. The girl knows about what her mother does and that little child doesn't like whenever her mother steals money. She scolds her mother and tells her to give the money back to the owner. And that's the reason why her mother mostly doesn't tell her daughter where she brings the money from. The mother lies to her daughter that she does small work and earns money through her hard work which makes her daughter happy. But unfortunately, today that small kid understood what her mother would do after taking the money from the purse fell on the ground. The girl knows that her mother would take the money and keep it to herself rather than give it back to the owner. The little girl broke the hug and grabbed her mother's hands with her tiny hands. She shook her little head, gesturing to her mother a 'NO'. The girl stood up from the bench and ran towards the purse to pick it up. She wanted to give it back to those girls walking ahead.
