Chapter 11

Natalia was speechless as she looks at Michelle from head to toe, as in the moment recording her in case she would not see her again in the future.

"Take a picture it will last longer" Michelle said smirking.

"Sorry I was not expecting to see you" Natalia said confused. "What are you doing here?" Natalia questioned.

"I smell coffee did you make it?" Michelle said sighing, Natalia nodded.

They both entered the kitchen and Natalia grabbed another mug from the cupboard and pored Michelle coffee, she added milk and sugar and warmed up in the microwave and gave it to Michelle. They both sat in the kitchen island as silence took over.

"I took care of the house not knowing when you would show up again, you had given me a spare key in the past when we were together and I thought you would return. Then more time passed and I finally accepted and realized you were not returning. So I had an alarm placed and I would pay a maid to come and clean every two or three months. I guess I couldn't let go of the place so I took care of it" Michelle finished sighing.

Natalia stared at Michelle with awe and thought how she could let this person go, this person who loved her unconditionally. She had no words to describe the guilt and emotions running through her at the moment. All she could think is how selfish she was in hurting this gorgeous person in front of her and how she would love to make it up to her.

"Thank you" Natalia said avoiding eye contact looking at the ground ashamed.

Michelle finished her coffee and rose from the stool as to leave. She pulled a sheet of paper and wrote down in it and handed it to Natalia.

"This is the code for the house alarm." she said while handing the piece of paper to Natalia. She started to walk out the kitchen.

"Where are you going?" Natalia said rushing in front of her before she left the house.

"Home, excuse me" trying to pass Natalia.

"No, we should talk" Natalia insisted as she blocked Michelle again.

"What, I don't think that's a good idea" Michelle said as she clenched her jaw and looked at Natalia with anger.

"Well I think we should please, I mean we can act like adults no?" Natalia sighed. "Please Michelle" Natalia begged.

Michelle sighed and walked in the living room and removed the sheets from one of the couches and sat down and started to play with the hem of her shirt avoiding eye contact with Natalia.

"Alright talk" Michelle said making eye contact with Natalia.

Natalia didn't know how to start the conversation; she had so many thoughts and emotions running through her brain making it hard to start. So she decided to start from the beginning.

"When my mom died it f****d me up Michelle, very much. I was not feeling anything, I was so numb" Natalia closed her eyes as she gathered her thoughts trying to hold tears that were forming. Michelle stayed quiet observing Natalia.

"I was not able to deal with the situation correctly, I didn't want to deal with it period and started telling myself to not feel and think of her. I know that was wrong now and I started to create this illusion in my mind that it didn't happen, so I stopped everything in my life that reminded me of her." Natalia made eye contact with Michelle. "You were one of the things that reminded me of my mom, Michelle. We pass so much time together, the three of us. She loved you as another daughter of hers. That last week with the funeral, I was a mess and started to block everything out, things that reminded me of her and I just couldn't take it anymore and I snapped. I needed to leave and get away from everything including you. It was wrong Michelle I know, but I wasn't in my right mind." Natalia concluded and started to cry. "I'm so sorry Michelle, I'm sorry, I'm so f****d up, I'm so sorry" Natalia started sobbing.

Michelle eyes released several tears watching her ex-girlfriend break down in front of her. She approached Natalia and hugged her. Natalia grabbed Michelle as her life depended on it and started to cry hysterically in the crook of Michelle's neck as she rubbed Natalia's back trying to comfort her.

"Let it out, shhh I'm here" Michelle said.

"I never meant to hurt you, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Michelle, you're the love of my life I'm so sorry" Natalia continue to cry even harder. Michelle held her as she continued to cry.

About thirty minutes later Natalia stopped crying and felt like a huge weight was lifted from her. She cleaned herself up and looked at Michelle, who was also cleaning some tears that had escaped.

"I was thinking of ordering some pizza you want?" Natalia asked as Michelle nodded.

Natalia explained to Michelle how she joined the FBI and also explained what she did these past couple of years. Michelle listened attentively to her ex, she hardly commented she was still in shock that Natalia was in front of her. Michelle was very hurt when Natalia left and she guarded herself up also closing herself from everyone and was not ready to forgive Natalia yet. Both women were affected by this tragic event that happened in the past. Michelle at least had a better understanding of Natalia and felt sorry for what she went through but reserved her thoughts. Even though that now she has most of the answers she was looking for, she still could not trust Natalia, when she left, Michelle was destroyed.

"Natalia even though you went through so many emotional dealings, you should be proud of yourself. You graduated top of your class in the FBI and are an excellent programmer. Also you have a first very good case, to me you are doing pretty well." Michelle explained.

Natalia for the first time in the day thought of Elena. How her being a suspect would affect her good case and her feelings towards Elena. Debating on whether she should tell Michelle, her internal struggle decided she should, seeing that she needed an outside opinion and also wanted to know more about Michelle. In the process she decided to tell her, the person she trusted most. She notice through the entire day Michelle has not shared nothing about her past. It did not bother her but made her curious, sad that she was not talking but stayed quiet. After all it was her fault that their relationship was strained. Natalia was just happy that Michelle was in front of her listening.

"Can I ask you a question?" Natalia asked and Michelle nodded.

"Have you been in relationships or been sexually with somebody after me?" asked Natalia.

"Of course, it's been years since we had seen each other" Michelle said eagerly, while this saddened Natalia.

"Well I haven't been with nobody since you, till recently." Natalia told Michelle, shocking her. "Like I told you I was very messed up mentally but the only thing I always knew is that my feelings for you were real. So I had no need to be with someone." Natalia said while observing Michelle's reaction, trying to read her eyes but they were distant. "Recently I have been with someone sexually that I shouldn't be with. The good case you mentioned, this person could be a potential suspect. But that's not what bothering me, it should this ought to be my main concern but it's not. What is bothering me is the way she acts towards me." Natalia said while looking at Michelle for any type of reaction but nothing.

"How does she acts towards you?" Michelle asked while maintaining eye contact.

"This does not bother you?" asked Natalia.

"No it doesn't I'm actually curious." Answered Michelle.

Natalia sighed and accepted Michelle's answer.

"She is very dominant, one moment she is all over me roughly but has her soft moments and then she is so cold and distant. She has kissed me and tried to be affectionate in her own way, which I understood but last night she was so cold and physical, distant. She even scared me a little and I'm a trained FBI agent. I tried to kiss her and she told me that she doesn't kiss, that it was a mistake to kiss me and she would be with me without kissing and no relationship, just sex." Natalia concluded confused all over because of Elena.

"I think she is a type of woman that does not do relationships or feelings and all of sudden she is experiencing exactly what she is avoiding and is confusing to her. How bad can this affect your investigation?" Michelle said concerned.

"Very she is in the top of suspects list" answered Natalia.

"Then my opinion is to forget about her and concentrate on the case since it's your first one." Michelle said.

Silence took over again, Natalia taking in all that Michelle said.

"You are right." Natalia accepted is the right thing to do. "Tell me about yourself." Natalia asked Michelle.

Michelle looked at Natalia's beautiful green eyes and debated in her head if she should open up to her, but soon discarded those thoughts away. She stood from the sofa quickly.

"I have to go, work, you should stop by one night bring your partner. It gets pretty good." Michelle said proudly.

"I know." Natalia nodded. "Thank you for today and for listening, can it happen again? See each other again?" Natalia asked.

"Yeah of course you have my information" Michelle answered.

Michelle gathered her belongings and started to walk towards the door, Natalia rushed towards her before she could turn the door knob. Grabbed her arm and turned her around and wrapped her arms around her neck and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you for everything." Natalia whispered in Michelle's ear and released her and kissed her cheek. Michelle's hand grazed her cheek and nodded towards Natalia walking out her house.

Natalia locked the door and walked towards the living room, grabbing her bag. She walked up the stairs towards her old room, opening her bedroom door she stepped in and looked around. Dropped her bag on the floor and hearing a beep. She opened her bag and reached for her phone. She unblocked it and saw a text message reading:

E: We need to talk.
