Eric POV

‘I dont know what you are up to Lester but I guess we’ll see I thought to myself’

Later that day I went down to the kitchen. As soon as I sat down I remembered Lester was still in my room. “uuuugh why did I have to have a Sloth as my first partner!?” I yelled and stomped my way back up the stairs and into my room. 

When I turned the corner near my room door i heard Lester talking to someone and laughing. It sounded like they were having a pleasant conversation. unlike the ones I had with him. Before I could take another step Penny came walking out with Kitty and Lester chilling on Kitty’s back. They walked passed me like I didn’t even exist!

“Penny!” I called out “Yeah bro?” “can you let Lester ride on kitty from now on?” “Sorry bro but Lester isn’t my responsibility. I Picked him up today because I noticed he was just sitting alone in your room and we didn’t know where you were.” I face palmed. “please Penny my legs can’t take anymore! I’ll look disproportionate with huge legs and a small upper body!” Penny laughed “As much as I would love to see that rules are you care for your own partner to strengthen the bond.”

Kitty and Lester went on ahead of us. “Listen Eric, Lester really isnt as bad or as weak as you think he is. He’s funny and nice and who knows you may be misjudging him just because of the way he looks or because of what he is.”

“UGH Penny don’t Lecture me” I scolded and walked off to the kitchen to feed my useless sloth.

Lester’s POV

My master forgot me in my room....I’ve always dreamed of being paired with a summoner and a strong one at that but I never thought that the person I’d be partnered up with would despise me so much. I was so excited the day the almighty called upon me and told me that i would be paired with a VERY Mighty Summoner. What he didn’t tell me was that this Mighty summoner was also a hormonal teenage mutant ninja jerk.  Not like he even had cool powers anyway. The dude didn’t even give me a chance and when I saved him from that guy who almost mashed him I thought I was being cool but instead he saw my power as something useless he saw me as a joke. Tears began to well up in my eyes and a soft knock came at the door. “Ah miss Penny how may I help you?”

“Lester are you okay?” Her sweet voice filled my aching heart. “ Oh no worries Miss Penny I assure you that I am perfectly fine.”

She came and sat down next to me with Kitty laying next to her. She leaned back onto kitty and looked at me with eyes full of sorrow. “I’m sorry about my brother being such a Jerk. He’s not a bad Kid. He’s just waited so long to be able to summon a partner he just didn’t expect it to be something the world sees as weak.” “weak?” I replied “Yeah Sloths arent the most favored creatures because of their speed.” “oh I see Miss Penny thank you for the insight.” She then went on to say “I can tell that you are a very strong partner my brother is just too blinded by stupidity at the moment he’ll warm up to you I’m sure of it.” I chuckled at how sweetly she put it even though we both knew he was just a douche. She gave me a hug and said hop on Kitty we’ll take you down to the kitchen. I slowely climbed on feeling like I was being a nuisance to Penny but she just stood their smiling at me waiting for me to get comfortable on Kitty and then proceeded to take me down to Master Eric. When we came out of the door Master Eric looked at us with wide eyes and asked Penny to take me downstairs using kitty from now on and complained at how disproportionate he would look. It hurt that he cared more about himself. He not only ignored the fact that he left me in the room alone but tried to delegate his responsibility to his sister. I was saddened when his sister declined but she was right we needed to bond. As kitty and I went into the kitchen I could hear penny talking to her brother. The words she said to him bless her soul I was so lucky to have a friend like her. At least i hope that she is my friend. As I smiled and thought to myself Kitty crouched down to let me off and went back to her Partner. I hope to someday have a bond like how penny and Kitty do but I dont know If I want to bond with master Eric. Unfortunately once the almighty chooses your partner you two are destined to be together. I just pray that things will be better today.
