Eric POV

I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was 2 black beady eyes staring at me surrounded by black fur and the rest of his body with coarse brown fluffy fur.

"Good morning Master Eric you called for me?" The giant creature spoke

"AAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!" I screamed in terror "w- wh w- what are you doing on top of me????" I spoke gasping from the lack of air in my lungs. "Whatever you are can you please get off of me I can't breathe..." "oh I am so sorry Master Eric" as he finished that sentence the creature got off of me.

A few seconds later my mother and father came bursting into the room yelling "WHAT HAPPENED ARE YOU OK-...." there was silence for a few min. My mother looked at the creature and said... "a sloth? What's a sloth doing in your room?" "Oh hello, Master Eric's mother I am Lester. Master Eric summoned me yesterday. Since I am a sloth I can't respond as fast but here I am. I apologize for my tardiness Master Eric."

"Looks like this is your first summon son. Your first companion so you guys will be like 2 peas in a pod."

My sister Penny came running in. "IS THAT YOUR FIRST SUMMON? THAT IS SO COOL ERIC! It's SOOO CUTE!"

"Why thank you Ms. Penny I appreciate the compliment," Lester replied.

"When did we get a butler Kai asked when he walked by. When he looked into the door and Laughed hysterically "BAHAHAHAHAHAHA A SLOTH WHAT A LOSER! AND WHAT A LOSER FIRST PET! WHAT CAN THAT USELESS THING DO?!?!"

"You must be Kai. I suggest you apologize to master Eric"

"Why should I?" Kai sneered.

Lester's eyes began to turn red. So red that it looked like fire was about to emit from its eyes. "I would strongly suggest that you apologize to master Eric....." His tone of voice changed from his butler tone and sounded like the devil was speaking. This made Kai cower and mutter his apology to Eric. " I'm sure you will be able to speak up louder next time but for now I'll accept that for master Eric."

My mother and father looked at each other in shock and my sister hugged my mother's leg a little scared.

" Oh forgive me for using such a tone in front of you folks I am so embarrassed," Lester said as he slowly climbed to sit on my bed.

"Well, son we're just going to go and let you get better acquainted with your new friend." Said father then began to walk off. "That Sloth is very polite but kinda scary at the same time" Penny chimed in. Mother on the other hand had nothing to say.

After they left mother closed the door quietly.

"so Master Eric my apologies for showing up so late. As you can see I am a sloth so I can't move fast. I missed the portal. But the almighty helped me get here." "Umm, you sure are pretty big for a sloth Lester..." "Ah yes, I am one of the mightiest Sloths in the summoners realm. The almighty saw it fit to send me to you. He thought I could be of good use to you."

"pft a sloth? Strong? You're kidding right?"

"No Master Eric not kidding at all. In due time I will show you what and why the almighty has sent me to you."

"heh okay if you say so" I rolled my eyes and sat up in bed still trying to catch my breath. I guess I'll get going why don't you head down to the kitchen to have breakfast and I'll meet you down there?" Oh, no master Eric I only go where ever you go when you go."

"ugh. But doesn't it take you a while to get down there?" " Yes it does but I don't mind."

with that, Eric went into the bathroom to get freshened up for the day and headed out to his room. Once out the door, he looked back to see that Lester was still trying to get off of the bed. Frustration began to hit Eric. "UUUUGH get on!" Eric huffed as he lifted Lester on his back and began to waddle down the stairs. "JEEZE man you weigh like a ton!" "So sorry master Eric I am one of the mightiest sloths in the summoners realm" "If you are one of the mightiest sloths then why can't you walk faster or something?" "That is a very good question master Eric. In due time maybe we shall find out a way to become stronger and faster together?"

"ugh whatever Lester"

as they made their way down to the kitchen for breakfast everyone was already sitting and waiting for them. All eyes were on the sloth that was sitting next to Eric. The room was dead silent except for the food that was sizzling on the frying pan.

Eric looked at everyone.... "what you guys never seen a sloth before?" "Well, we've seen a sloth but not a huge one like that brother" Penny replied.

On the side, Kai glared at Lester. "How dare that stupid Sloth talk to me that way. We'll if he's as good as he says he is when he goes against my Shiro. She'll tear him to shreds"
