FLASHBACK(THE PROPOSAL)

12/11/19

                Something very special happened. You freaking asked me to be your girlfriend OFFICIALLY.

Kendra’s POV

I woke up early to get things ready. After what happened last night and realizing that I don’t want to lose her. I thought of a plan to make things right and to win her back.

I dialed CJ's number

“Morning, boss” she answered, and based on her voice she just woke up

“can you meet me at the bistro in 30?” I asked

“hmm ok, I’ll just get ready” she replied

I hang up and placed my phone on the bedside table then went to take a bath.

After taking a bath and putting on some clothes I headed to the bistro. I just arrive and saw that it’s already opened. I entered and saw CJ sitting on the counter just outside the kitchen.

“Is everything ok?” she asked as soon as she saw me

“you know what happened yesterday, you saw it,” I told her and leaned on the counter

“Brielle said it’s over last night” I continue

“ok, I don’t understand,” she said raising her eyebrow

I sighed and told her everything that happened last night how Brielle ended things between us

“I know how much you suffered when juls left you but you do know. That we can’t avoid things like that. Though that doesn’t mean you should stop loving. For the past two years of holding back. For once let yourself love again” CJ said and pat my back

“I know, that’s why I called you here, you have to make sure she still comes to sing tonight, and I need you to help me decorate this place” I replied

She smiled from ear to ear and hugged me tight

“duuddeee I’m so proud of you,” she said letting me go

I just laughed and asked her what materials we need. Cj does an amazing job of decorations that’s why I asked her to work for me when I was still starting this business. We listed the things we need and went to buy them. CJ and I parted ways to save time.

*BUZZ*BUZZ*

Kath:

                What the f**k Kendra!

I’m driving so I called her instead

“Kendra! My best friend looks like a mess right now” I was greeted with Kath's loud voice

“I’ll fix this, just make sure she comes tonight. I’m sorry I know I f****d up” I said

“I’ll see what I can do,” she said and hang up

Before leaving the house I called Kath to check on Brielle. I also told her what I plan for Brielle tonight.

Brielle's POV

*ding*dong*

*ding*dong*

It’s 8 in the morning and I’ve been up all night crying my eyes out. I got out of bed and opened the door.

 “WHAT THE f**k?!” Kath shouted like she saw a ghost or something

“you haven’t been responding to my texts since last night, even ignoring my calls. I thought you’re with Kendra, and doing yah know” she continued

I felt the tightness on my chest and my tears immediately started to fall.

“Oh s**t, I’m sorry. What happened?” she asked then hugged me

“I was just a toy for her,” I said trying my best to talk in between sobs

“that asshole,” she said and hugged me tight

I told her everything that happened. She listened and gave me some piece of advice.

“you don’t have any food left. I’ll head out to but us something to eat. I’ll be back” she said and closed the door

I sat on the sofa and leaned my head still thinking about last night

*buzz*buzz*

I checked my phone and it’s from an unknown number

                Hey, Brei I just want to remind you about you’re gig tonight J. You know a lot of people love watching you. And today is your schedule. This is CJ by the way J

“ahhhh ffuuucccckkk” I whispered

I forgot today is Saturday. Kendra offered me to sing at her bistro every Monday and Saturday nights because I don’t have a class the next day, and for some reason, people loved it the first time.

I replied that I couldn’t make it today but she insisted I go cause people have been asking for me.

“you ok?” Kath asked as she entered

“CJ, wants me to sing tonight” I replied looking up at her

“then go, I mean you’re getting paid so why not,” she said

“but I don’t want to see her,” I said pouting at her

“I’m sure she wouldn’t want to see you too, you know what. I have a plan” she said smiling like an i***t.

“that better be good,” I said giving her a glare

“ohh it’s the best” she replied

Kendra’s POV

It’s already 4 pm and things are all set. All we have to do is wait. I asked CJ to tell the others that a proposal is going to happen tonight in case Brielle asks about the decorations and the sudden change of theme in the bistro.

“whoa!” Jessa said as soon as she entered

“so this is why you just opened, is Brielle singing today by the way” jake one of our regular costumers said

I just smiled at them and answered

“I hope so” I excused myself and pulled CJ in my office

“is she coming?” I asked her

“I don’t know she didn’t respond to my text” CJ replied

I run my fingers through my hair and asked CJ to leave my office. I leaned on my table and texted Kath asking if Briel’s going to show up.

For the past 30 minutes, I’ve been constantly checking my phone and still no response. It’s nearly 5 and the live band starts at 6.  it’s less than an hour away and I’m stressed out. she needs to come or all this is going to waist.

I went out of my office and walk up to CJ and told her to ask the other singer to get ready then headed to the kitchen and helped mj.

“she’ll come,” mj said and patted my back

I just smiled at him and continued cocking

3rd person’s POV

Brielle entered the bistro with pure amazement in her eyes.

“wooahhwww,” she said in a whisper

“here you are and wooahhw to you too you look amazing,” CJ said as she walks up to her

“what’s all this? thanks” she asked and looked around

The place looks like in the movies. Dim lights, candles, balloons, and roses. The tables are also rearranged.

“ohh yeah, today is a special day. a proposal is about to happen” CJ replied

“the guy sure knows how,” brie said

“that’s what happens when cupid hits you hard” Kath whispered behind brie and winked

“I guess” brie replied and flash a smile

“you’re up next and by the way, here’s a special request,” CJ said and handed her a piece of paper

“you know that song right?” she asked again

“Yeah, it’s a very cute song” brie replied smiling

Cj gave her some instructions for brie to follow.

She just nodded and looked around then headed to their so-called dressing room which is just an empty room where the singers practice or take a moment.

Meanwhile in the kitchen ken’s making herself busy not to think too much. Until CJ came and told her the princess has arrived

“Really?” ken asked looking over her shoulder

“I told you, now leave that and make yourself presentable,” mj said and pushed ken towards the kitchen door

A few moments later…

“ok, today is a special day and the person how planed all this is the number 1 fan of this singer. And I know we all miss her. Let’s welcome Amanda Brielle” CJ announced and left the stage

Brielle stood there looking beautiful and very irresistible.

“Hello everyone, I know I haven’t been around for the past few days. I miss this stage and singing for you all, but tonight this song is dedicated to a special person. I hope you like it” she said after reading the script she switched the page to the lyrics of the song

And the guitarist started strumming

Brielle looked around the bistro and still couldn’t find Kendra anywhere.

Why am I even looking for Her? It would only hurt me to see her brie told herself shaking the thought of wanting to see Kendra

“my life was great til you added colors”

a sudden flashback plays on brie’s mind.

The time they first went on a trip together she just remembered that this was the song being played in the car that day.

Kendra even sang it for brie while holding her hand.

The way she looked at her

The way she placed her hand on her chest

then Kendra pulled brie into a tight hug

brie snapped out of reality and walked the the “x” mark CJ told her stand when this part comes

she was about to open her mouth when someone started singing

“I don't know what I'll do without you

you make me smile what is it that you do

my life was gray til you added colors

like the moon is the snow we don't care about the others”

she knows that the voice sounds very familiar. Slowly she turned around and saw Kendra on stage singing her part

“you set my world on fire

you're my heart’s desire”

Kendra held the mic with both hands and looked straight into Brielle's eyes.

“yesterday I messed up, some of you may know and even saw it firsthand”

When Kendra said those words it all came back to me. I wanted to leave but it feels like my feet are nailed to the ground.

“and I let this lady walk out of my life”

She said again and looked at me. she looks so perfect and so hot 

shame thou she's an ass efin b***h 

“all this is for you” she looked around as she said those words which made me regret what I just said

 “The theme, I know how you love purple so much and the cozy feeling you get on dim lights, the decors are based on things about us. If you haven’t noticed there is tissue paper on the decors cause when I see one, I always remember how you gave me your number. Then I ruined it by accidentally throwing it away” she said with a chuckle

The crowd chuckled and laughed with her.

I let out a small smile remembering how upset I was that day.

“and most especially this song is for you. When we had our first trip this song was playing on the radio and it just made the moment perfect. I know I said I wasn’t ready for commitment”

Kendra walked towards me. my heart is beating fast

"I'm sorry for taking what we had for granted,"  she said looking into my eyes 

“but I don’t want to lose you forever. Last night you said you wish for my happiness”

She’s now in front of me no one is talking and all eyes are on us.

“you are my happiness. Amanda Brielle brook will you be my girlfriend?”

I bit my lips and breath out. I’m shaking

“Is this for real?” I asked still not knowing what’s happening

“Will you be my girlfriend?” she asked again

I nodded and whispered

“yes”

She hugged me tight and kissed my cheek

The people started cheering.

“free drinks for everyone tonight” she happily said

“Baby, are you sure?” I asked in concern

“it’s ok it’s just for tonight,” she said and pulled me into a hug.

" I LOVE YOU" she whispered into my ear 

"I LOVE YOU TOO" I replied and gave her a kiss
