Chapter 3

Jude woke up from the heat of sunlight hitting his face. He squinted his eyes standing up from the couch and stretched his limbs while taking a deep breath. His hands and feet were numb from the cold because he slept without a blanket last night. He looked around to see if Alexander was in the room but the alpha was nowhere to be seen. Jude slowly walked towards the bathroom and knocked in case his mate was inside. He sighed and went inside when he got no answer. Alexander still wasn't back when Jude got out of the bathroom. The omega looked around in the hope to see if the alpha had left any note saying where he went. Unfortunately, there was nothing except for a tray of breakfast and coffee. He sighed in disappointment and poured himself a cup of warm coffee. He wondered how it was still warm even though it was brought here before he woke up. Jude paced around the room not knowing what to do. He was in an unfamiliar place with only his mate who ignored him like he doesn't exist. The omega bit lips as he thought about the alpha. He didn't want to cry anymore because his eyes were already sore from last night's weeping session. He shook all those thoughts away not wanting to ruin his mood early in the morning. The blonde looked around to find something to keep him busy while he waited for his mate to come back. There were so many books on the shelf but he didn't want to read them as it would take so long to finish. And Jude hated leaving books halfway through. He wanted something simple to do or read. The omega pouted as he searched the room before the newspaper and magazines on the small glass table caught his attention. He took them and decided to read them till his mate came. The boy opened the magazine first because the newspaper front page seemed to be talking about some boring political fight and Jude hated politics. He hoped the magazine would have something to entertain him as it was all colorful pictures and gossips. But what he didn't expect to see was a full picture of Alexander on the first page of the magazine. "Alexander Ivanov is not a bachelor anymore!!!" It said. Jude couldn't help but continue reading with interest. He knew magazines are not to be trusted but he was curious about what they were saying about his husband. "One of the hottest bachelors in the world, Alexander Ivanov, is not a bachelor anymore. The 23-year-old just got married to his mate, Jude Hart, yesterday. The wedding was grand and luxurious but only had their close friends invited. It is said that Jude Hart is an omega but the background history or any other information about this lucky person is still a mystery to the public. As per the Ivanov family traditions, the future heir is only allowed to take over the family business when they marry their true mate. That was the reason why Alexander couldn't take over Ivanov corp like he was supposed to when he was 20 years old. Now that he has found his mate, rumor has it that the young alpha would be soon taking charge as the CEO of Ivanov Corp in a few days. So it is clear that this handsome man is changing his position from one of the hottest bachelors in the world to one of the hottest CEOs in the world!" Everything made sense to the omega as he read the article. The reason why his mate married him even though he doesn't like him. The reason why the wedding happened in such a rush. Jude felt his heartache. He remembered the day when he met Alexander for the first time. It was a busy day at the 'sweet pie' bakery and Jude was decorating a wedding cake when Alexander burst through the door. The omega squealed in surprise before he met his mate's piercing blue eyes. Jude remembers being so captivated by the alpha's stare that he forgot to breathe for a minute. He was going to talk to the alpha before Alexander rushed out of the door with an unreadable expression. Jude didn't get a wink of sleep that night. He was afraid of the alpha hating him for being a male omega. But the next day, Alexander showed up at the bakery with a small bouquet and apologized to the omega for running off before. He said it was because he felt nervous. Jude was so ecstatic to meet his mate again that he foolishly believed everything he said. Three days later, the alpha introduced him to his family and told him about the marriage. Jude wasn't ready then but he said okay because he didn't want to disappoint his mate. The omega wiped away his tears. He felt so used and manipulated by the one who's supposed to love him. The boy smiled sadly as he realized he was just a mere tool for the alpha to take over the family business. At least he was useful for his mate in some way…. The sound of the door opening made the omega's head snap in the direction. He saw his mate walking into the room drenched in his own sweat. His grey T-shirt clung to his body like a second skin. The alpha looked at Jude, making him squirm on his spot. "Pack everything. We're leaving," He said before he walked off to the bathroom. Jude looked down helplessly. He wanted to talk to the alpha but he was afraid of making him mad. He sighed before standing up to pack their clothes. * * Jude didn't know where they were going. The alpha was straight up ignoring him as usual. He fidgeted in his seat thinking whether he should ask his mate or not. The omega felt like a helpless doll in front of Alexander. After a few minutes of thinking, Jude decided to stay silent and face whatever that comes his way. It was better than making his mate even more irritated with him. Twenty minutes later, their car came to halt in front of a beautiful mansion. Jude couldn't help but stare wide-eyed at the view in front of him as he got out. The mansion looked so luxurious and the garden was mesmerizingly beautiful. White and blue fully bloomed hydrangeas were the ones that greeted them first. Then he saw the purple wisterias on either side of the house that climbed up the pillars, fully covering them with its flowers. Another eye-catching plant in the garden was the Allium pinball flowers. There were also many other types of roses and plants which Jude didn't know the name of. Alexander took a quick look at the garden before striding towards the mansion. Jude followed him slowly while taking in the beauty around him. Alexander rang the doorbell and leaned on the wall while the omega was busy playing with the wisteria flowers which climbed up the pillars. Jude couldn't help but smile as he touched and looked around the plant. It was the first time he saw a wisteria flower so beautiful. "Oh, you guys are already here!" Rosalyn exclaimed as she saw the pair. "Richard they're here! " She shouted to her mate. Soon a smiling Richard came out of the mansion."Come in, this is your house from now on." He said making Jude's eyes widen. They were going to stay here? The omega gasped while Alexander rolled his eyes. "Dad, why a mansion? We're only two people. An apartment suite would have been fine." The alpha sighed. "Think for the future, i***t!" Rosalyn flicked her son's forehead. "Soon you'll have kids running around so it's better if it's a mansion." She said while smiling at the omega. Jude looked down as he felt a familiar ache in his heart. Kids…… that will never happen…… Alexander scoffed, making Rosalyn frown. "What ?" She asked to which the alpha just shook his head. "Let me in, I need to rest." He changed the subject. "I feel tired." He reasoned as he strode past his mother. "Your room is upstairs." Rosalyn pointed to the stairs. "We already put all of your things in there so no need to worry." She said to the omega who smiled nervously. "Where's the study?" Alexander asked. "Oh wait, I'll show you that," Richard replied before following his son upstairs. "Come on, I'll show you around here," Rosalyn said excitedly and took the omega's hand before dragging him to the kitchen. Jude couldn't help but shudder thinking about living in the big house alone with his mate.
