Chapter Eight: Planning Part 2

Thomas made it to my bed and of course didn't disappoint. I was dreading the hour of sleep I got for training this morning. Groaning at my alarm I turned it off and pushed Thomas off the bed.

"What the f**k was that for?" Thomas groaned from the floor.

"Keeping me up late when I have to be up at 4:30." I replied. "Now get up we have training."

I heard some mumble from the other side of the bed as I got up for my morning routine. I went to bathroom and started brushing my teeth when Thomas sauntered in. I watched him in the mirror while I was brushing my teeth. He acted like he normally has over the last few years but I still felt that something was off with him.

I finished up and headed to my closet. I pulled out an orange sports bra and royal blue workout shorts. I was walking out when he walked in.

"You still have some of my clothes in your closet?" he asked smirking.

"Yeah you know where they are."

He disappeared while I went back into the bathroom to put my hair in a tight bun. It's hand to hand today so I try to keep extra hand holds to a minimum. I walked out while he came out of the closet and we headed down to the grounds. It was a gloomy day and might rain later which makes it hard for Alectrona. "I'll be okay Minerva I am still charged from yesterday." I smiled at that because I know I haven't thought much about her since she normally stays quiet unless it is something important. Then I thought about how she hasn't said anything about Thomas and the situation that is happening. "I am not entirely worried about what is going on. Thomas might be a threat but the key factor is find that child and I think I know what he is doing with her. Focus on training and we will discuss this later. Plus the mating ball."

I focused on Henry's moves and actually put him on his ass a few times for once. When training is over it had started sprinkling some and we all headed inside. I slipped up to my room for a quick shower and threw on some leggings and a bigger t-shirt. I stepped out and went to my office a couple door downs. I walked in and no-one was in there so I locked the door behind me.

"Alectrona, what where you saying about knowing what he was doing with the girl?"

"He has her captive yes, but there's no way she is tied up and bound which leads me to believe that she is, so to speak, being baby sat by someone. If we can figure that out, then we can get her without him knowing and ruin his plan and change the course of your death."

"Okay that is a great plan, but how do we find out who is baby sitting the girl?"

"Eavesdrop. We have heightened senses for no reason. Don't you have someone watching him anyways?"

"Yeah I do. Guess we bide our time for a bit and see what we come up with. Saturday would be the perfect opportunity for this to happen. Most of my warriors have mates, so they could run recon and get in and out easily while everyone is distracted by the ball. It's perfect."

"It sounds perfect, just have to make it happen. I hear someone up the stairs. Get to planning this mate ball, I want to meet our second chance."

I unlocked my door and went to my desk and decided that I will get Kelly involved so she can pick what to serve and she has a crew that loves this whole planning and decorating thing. A knock on the door and it opening ended my mental debate when I seen it was Henry.

"Alpha, I have been reported to that Thomas is taking phone calls that aren't his Beta or Delta. It's been picked up about a child and occasionally you. I am working towards getting his phone hacked so we can find a location." Henry said.

Sighing, "Try to have it by Saturday. Our stealth warriors all have mates so they won't be at the ball. If we can ping the location, we will send them in and get the child."

"That is a good plan. I will see what I can do on short notice. Just don't forget we have until Tuesday for sure."

I waved him out and opened a mindlink to Kelly, "I need you in my office please. We need to discuss the ball."

"Have you ate this morning Minerva?" Was her reply.

"No, I guess bring something with you."

"I sure will Alpha."

I cut the link and waited for her. It wasn't long and she came in tray that smelled mouth watering in hand followed by her daughter who I know is the best decorator.

"Kelly, Katrina how are you both?"

"We are both doing well Alpha." was Katrina's reply as Kelly moved to out down her signature pancakes and sausage in front of me.

"Here eat your breakfast and tell us what you need Minerva."

"Mother! That is disrespectful of our Alpha. Why would--"

"Katrina it's fine. Your mother raised me more than my father did after my mother died. She knows that in private I don't mind her not using a title. Sometimes it just makes me feel normal and not leading such a pack."

"I understand Alpha, what is it that you needed help with?"

"Well this mating ball that is happening Saturday. I have completely forgotten about it and I've been extremely busy so I need your help. "

"What do you have wrote down? Even if it's vague, I can try to get it worked out."

I passed her the list and she looked at me and shook her head.

"Alpha, we need to work on your planning skills. But do not worry, I will have the ball looking extravagant."

"Thank you Katrina. I know you will do well. Kelly do you want to plan the food? I know I never have to taste anything as I know you're to good for me to have to."

"I'll get it done Minerva. Do not fret. Just don't forget that you yourself have to look magnificent since you may have a chance for a mate as well."

Brushing off the mate part, I smiled and said "Don't fret over me Kelly, I'll have myself ready."

With that she gathered the plate from my desk and left me with a smile. I knew she would be game to handle the ball for me, she always helps pick up where I can't. Maybe I need to give her a bonus this year for being so great I thought to myself.

About that time there was a knock and an entering. Thomas.
