Chapter THIRTEEN: Mom

1017 Words
It wasn't a soft landing when I fell through the book. I sat up quickly trying to gather what happened. Looking around it was a beautiful meadow with wild flowers lining the tree line. Not to far from me was a spring fed pond lined with rocks and a lone tree. I approached the tree when I see on the other side a bench with a woman sitting on it. I approached slowly on guard of who it could be. When I made it to the edge of the bench, slowly the woman turned towards me with a bright smile. "Minerva my dear child. How you have grown." "Mmm... mmm... mom?" I asked. "Yes my daughter. Come sit and lets talk about everything." I finished approaching her and sat down. She grabbed me hand and held it while smiling. I didn't know I was crying until I felt her wipe my cheeks. "I'm sorry my child. I wish I could have been with you everyday but unfortunately the prophecy wouldn't have it. I couldn't wait for this day to come, when I finally got to see my little girl become the Alpha she needed to be. The pack was strong with your father but it's stronger with you as their leader. You are destined for great things love," my mother said smiling. I was still speechless. I couldn't believe it. My mother was here in front of me and she was more beautiful than any pictures I have ever seen. Long blonde wavy hair, piercing blue eyes, she was shorter than me but had more curves. Finally I spoke, "Where exactly are we mom? I thought the book was to tell me everything." "Well dear, the book actually brought you here so I could speak with you. Sure it tells you everything but I needed to tell you all of this in person, well as in person as we could get. In a sense you're in your self conscious. A piece of your mind that you find peace in." "I was awake though when I opened the book. Shouldn't I have been asleep?" "On that part the page summoned you here. In a way you're asleep but I have faith that Slate is waiting beside you for your return." Still confused, I moved to one of the most important questions I needed an answer to. "Mom, how are you here though? Being angel, shouldn't you be in Heaven?" "My accepting of mating to your father didn't allow for me to go there, so Selene allowed me to stay with her amongst the wolves to watch over you and your future." I smiled. The Moon Goddess is an amazing person for sure. Then I thought about the prophecy and what it meant. "Mom, what is this prophecy I keep being told about?" I watched her smiled fade as she looked across the pond. Taking a deep breath she started telling the story, "Centuries ago, it was forseen that a daughter of light and a son of darkness would be born of a mated wolf and angel pair and a wolf and demon pair. These children of course would be mostly wolf, but at some point when the true danger starts emerging, they will develop abilities from their angel or demon side. These children are bound in a way that makes them stronger together. Not mates but power. When the threat emerges, their powers will merge making a force that will finish it once and for all." "This prophecy came to be finally when you and Slate were born. Both Madeline and I mated with your fathers when we turned 18. We were together 13 years before you were born leading me to believe that, it was waited until the right time so you both would be mature enough to handle this pressure," she finished with a sad smile. I just stared then asked, "Thomas isn't the danger is he?" "No dear he isn't. He is just the beginning of a war that has threatened to make its way to the supernatural world. You will have allies you've never thought of having and you will come of a power not to be known of werewolves. There will be fear, death, and even love in this war. You must be as prepared as possible. Slate and Xavier will help in every way they can. Be careful with your choices my love. Some may get you killed." "Now I don't have much time left with you. But I know you will have your second chance mate and I need you to cherish him and love him in ways never thought of. He will be the key to your survival. I love you Minerva. I'll see you someday." With that I was sitting back on my bed without getting to tell my mother that I loved her back. I didn't know I was crying until Slate wiped my face. I looked at him and he smiled. "I knew it would happen. The same happened to me when dad gave me my book. We will work together and make our families proud and finish off the threat to our world," he assured me. I smiled at him and continued flipping through my book. I found the prophecy and while reading I came across the finding of our mates. Twins. We are to mate with twins. "Slate do you know what kind of twins?" "No and noone has said either. I guess we shall find out tomorrow," he said smirking at me. I finished reading the prophecy with no hints at what it is we will be at war with. The book I noticed was about the different types of races in our realms and their history when I noticed a scribbled note on the bottom of a page. Use this as a guide in finding allies. -Mom I shut the book with a sigh. I guess I'll need to get to reading soon and start forming alliances for this war. But first, I need to get this Mating Ball out of the way.
