Carlos was up in his room, trying to go to sleep, but once again couldn’t. Eugenio had offered to join him, however Carlos asked to be alone. Luckily, Eugenio understood and went to his place instead. There had been a lot to take in. The incident with Manchaca’s men, finding out Beto was gay, and that he had hooked up with Eugenio once upon a time. He knew that wasn’t the thing he should focus on, but he couldn’t help and wonder if they ever thought about their night together.
But even though that thought creeped up on him every few minutes, what was really keeping him up was Menchaca. Maybe he was crazy for not wanting to sell.
