Chapter 5

An hour. Two hours ... And everything remains the same, it is as if everyone has forgotten their existence. As if they had forgotten the fact that they are locked in an elevator two meters high and one and a half wide. It's not so hot now, but it's not pleasant for Amir and Emily to be locked up in such a small place for so long. Neither of them have said a single word since they took a seat on the floor more than an hour ago, Amir gave up and Emily was finally able to accept the situation and consequently, calm her anxiety and fear. Being calmer made her remember everything that had happened with the Arab more than three hours ago, everything that was said and the threats that were made. Remembering those last two things made curiosity invade her entire being. And sighing, she whispers to him: "Can I ask you a question?" Amir stops looking at one of her hands and nods as he looks up at her. "Why do you think I'm just anyone?" He frowns at her question, he would never have guessed it from her. She took him by surprise. But he is determined to answer no matter what. "Because you're talking to two men at the same time." "That?" She blurts out incredulous. "I'm what?" "Yes, you." He sighs. "And please don't try to deny it. Because I heard you clearly." She blinks and immediately remembers that when she entered the elevator, the second the doors closed she received a call from her ex and then with this lockdown, Jason's call came. And he listened to both of them. «Oh, my God! What a shame. No wonder he treats me like he does. Plus the majestic dancing welcome I gave him. Of course that bad concept that he has about me is understandable! Although in the same way, that does not give him the right to have been so rude.» "And if so, what does it matter to you?" "In nothing. But that doesn't prevent it from being aberrant." Emily nods slowly. "I can understand your point. But I am not talking to two men at the same time." She sees how he looks elsewhere. "Jake is someone from my past, someone who won't leave me alone and Jason..." She laughs at a thought. "I don't even have to explain to you anything I do with my personal life, I don't know why I'm ... Because I'm talking about this." "Well, don't do it, I didn't tell you to do it." She bites her lower lip in frustration and closing her eyes, decides to finish what she started with her question. And sitting on the floor next to each other, in total silence again ... The white lights of the elevator suddenly illuminate everything again, blinding them both for brief moments. Emily and Amir are immediately on their feet as they go blind, but then, hearing a small squeak from the doors ... She panics again and quickly squeezes against him. Amir watches her over he shoulder and hugs her again. Somewhat distant, but he hugs her. Minutes later, the elevator doors open and the two move away from each other instantly, rather quickly. It was evident that their last talk brought back the tension between the two. The fireman's smile when he managed to open the doors was like a light from heaven for Emily, who jumped on him gratefully. "Oh my God, thank you very much !!" She squeals happily. "Thank you very much sir!" The firefighter smiles and after hugging him briefly Emily walks away from him, takes his bag and exits the elevator followed by Amir, who did not like the scene she just did with the firefighter at all. «She's a scoundrel ... All the outsiders are!» Upon exiting the elevator completely, Amir is surrounded by his entire entourage who make sure that he is in good condition. " Now, stop!" He whispers stubbornly while at the same time raising his right hand making them walk away from him. Katherine runs with Jason to Emily and after hugging her and the paramedics will verify that she is in good condition, they both whisper in unison: "You are really fine?" Emily goes to answer them, when a familiar voice shuts her down. "Miss Rose are you okay? do you need something? A glass of water?" Marta, one of the hotel employees approaches them with great concern. "Yes Marta, I'm fine. Don't worry, thank you very much." "I am very sorry for what happened and the disgust you experienced. I wish you well soon, miss." " Thank you very much Marta!" Emily smiles at her with notable appreciation and affection and then watches her go. Emily looks back at her friend and her stepbrother and responding to Katherine's question, she nods her head evasively. Her mind is now elsewhere ... Because behind her, she can feel the Arab's gaze pierce her head. Sneakingly, she turns around and, looking askance, confirms what she already felt. He is staring at her with a superhuman seriousness, which makes her moan very softly as she feels her hands now sweat, she tries to be strong and appear to be of zero importance so she looks up and her blue eyes meet those intense jet black eyes from Amir. The moment is so intense, that she swallows hard as she feels that intense and overwhelming gaze completely invade her from head to toe and seconds later, she stops looking at him as she is hugged by Jason and then again by Katherine. " I'm so sorry honey, I know how terrified you were. I could hear you talking to Jason, I almost ripped the phone out of his hands." "Yes thanks. Trust me, it was. But I'm fine now, it was just a nasty scare but it's over." "Let me order a room for you, so you rest and avoid driving home with this storm Emi." "No, Jason. Don't worry, really. Believe it or not, I'm fine. I just want to go home. I do not want to be here." "Then I'll take you home!" "No! It really is not necessary. I can go alone. I'm not afraid to drive." She smiles to ease her brother's concern and he seems to believe her. " Okay, but call me immediately when you get there." "I will, I promise." Jason briefly embraces her again and Amir, who does not stop watching the scene, clenches his teeth, meets Emily for the last time when she looks at him again and turning around, leaves the hotel followed by all his entourage. He is furious, angry and very stressed. He can't deal with such stress that he overwhelms him and he doesn't understand why. And to complete his anger ... ****** On the way to your apartment. Emily was approached by the pouring rain. She could hardly drive in the middle of that storm and terrified, she prays with sincere passion and faith to arrive safely at her house. And when she is finally a block away, she sees the immense skyscraper where she resides, so Emily steps on the accelerator and when she arrives safely at her beautiful home, she crosses herself thanking God for arriving safely. After carefully parking her Audi in its rightful place and in fear of what happened just an hour and a half ago at her hotel, she steps into the large elevator and marks her floor. As the doors open in front of her abode, she releases all the air that has been contained, since she entered the elevator. Pulling her purse on the large sofa, she runs up to her room to take a long shower, then calls her stepbrother, and finally throws herself on the immense bed like a whole baby. But, what prevents her from resting in peace, is that she cannot stop thinking about such a hostile personality that now she is stunned by her beautiful mental stability. "Unbearable Arab!" It's the last thing she whispers before finally managing to fall asleep soundly an hour later.
