Chapter Sixteen

"Just what the hell is it?" Noah yelled as he pointed at me. I gasped before walking over to him and pushing him slightly. We had finally returned to our country.  "I'm not an it!" I yelled.  Noah scoffed, "She glided across the damn room like she was on Disney on ice! I thought she was human!"  "I am!" I yelled. "You're not!"  "I literally am a human!" I screamed. Noah clenched his jaw and Henry cleared his throat. He looked at the files on the desk.  "King Noah," He started.  "Out with it!" Noah exclaimed.  "According to her files, she is technically a human being!" He announced.  I clapped. "That's what you get! I was right!"  "But she does have a bit of vampire abilities due to her mother," Henry finished.  "I told you! You're a damn demon!" Noah yelled back.  "You will not have to worry about her biting you or anything like that but she's as fast as a vampire and has some strength to her as well," Henry read. I walked over to him and grabbed the paper and read it.  "Why is it just now happening?" I whispered.  "You're still human, Ororo!" Noah said as he stood behind me and read the paper from over my shoulder, "You just have small things that make you a little different but that's all!"  Suddenly, someone knocked on the door causing Noah and I to jump. He grabbed me by my hand and pulled me into his arms. I pushed him away causing him to fly back. The door opened and a gorgeous woman entered the room.  She stared at us for a second before chuckling, "Your Majesty, it is time for you to come out and greet the public. The gates are now open!"  "Thank you, Kelly!" Noah replied while sending her a small smile. She nodded and left the room followed by Henry leaving the both of us alone.  "Thank you, Kelly!" I mocked while sitting on the couch. Noah grabbed his blazer jacket and put it on before making his way towards the door.  "Shut the f**k up and sit there," He demanded. I balled up a piece of paper and threw it at the back of his head as he made his way out of the room. I could hear the huge crowd outside of the palace as they waited for their King to come outside to greet them. I knew that Noah had arrived the moment their cheers got louder.  I stood up and made my way towards the door before opening it and making my exit. I walked around the huge castle before being approached by Henry. He smiled at me softly and held his hand out, "Come outside to greet your people!"  "I don't think that's a good idea," I mumbled as we walked down the huge flight of stairs and towards the front doors of the palace.   "You'd be surprised," Henry answered. He didn't say another word as he opened the doors and I was greeted with a huge crowd. There was security surrounding the front of the palace to keep anyone from stepping inside of the actual castle. I watched as the crowd went wild at the sight of me. There were a few who waved at me in excitement while some waited patiently for me to come over. There were a few who stared at me with disgust but I didn't let it get to me. I stepped forward and shook hands with everyone.  I could feel Noah's eyes on me. He held a bouquet of roses in his hand and made his way towards me, "These are for you! The young lady over there wanted you to have them!"  I grabbed the roses from him as he walked passed me and back to the crowd. I smiled softly at the roses and made my way over to the young girl who gave them to me. Her eyes widened at the sight of me as I gave her a soft smile, "Thank you for the roses! They are quite beautiful and I appreciate it very much!"  She gasped, "Your Majesty!"  "Yes?"  "I am glad that you seem to love the roses and I am happy that you are happy," She started. I smiled softly, "However, I was not the one to get you those roses. Instead, I bought a letter!" She finished. She held her shaky hand out that showed that she was indeed holding a letter.  "Where did these roses come from then? I was told that you were the one who bought them!" I asked.  "King Noah first came out of the palace empty handed but one of the Royal Guards came out of the palace with roses and handed them to him! King Noah even thanked the man for getting the roses! He held them the entire time until you came out!" She explained.  Realization hit me like a truck.  Noah was the one who had gotten me these flowers.  He just used this girl as a cover thinking I wouldn't thank her.  I looked down at the beautiful red and white roses. I could see that there was supposed to be a letter but it had been removed. I looked behind me to see Noah smiling at the crowd and chatting away. His eyes were filled with pure joy and it made me smile softly.  "Thank you," I said to the girl once again, "I will most definitely read your letter!"  I backed away from the crowd and waved goodbye as Noah did the same. Everyone smiled and said their goodbyes as we made our way back into the palace. Henry stood at the door waiting for me to step inside. He took a hold of the flowers and smiled at me.  "I will put these beautiful flowers in a vase," He announced. Noah didn't say a word as he made his way up the stairs and away from Henry and I. I handed the flowers to him and nodded my head before attempting to walk away.  Henry grabbed my wrist, "This is for you!"  I stared down at the small card before taking it. Henry bowed his head and made his way towards the kitchen with the beautiful flowers. I opened the envelope and pulled the small card out and began reading it.  "I am sorry for cutting the trip to the US short. These flowers reminded me of you — the red roses showcases your passion and the white roses showcases the pure and innocent side of you. White Roses in Gideon are extremely rare yet beautiful. Enjoy them! Love Always, N"  I looked up to see Noah staring at me from the stairs. I smiled softly at him as he nodded his head and made his way back up the stairs leaving me alone to stare at the lovely note.
