Valentina and Vixen barely seem alive. If I wasn’t able to feel the bond and hear their heartbeat, I might have thought otherwise.
And I would undoubtedly have lost my sh*t.
Shifting back, I move towards her to assess her wounds more closely. She is covered in blood all over, and 2 of her paws are clearly badly broken. Ace whimpers at the sight, and I feel my eyes starting to get glossy as well.
To my absolute shock, she manages to move. She drops herself to the side, revealing Lydia in her human form underneath her. Oh my goddess! She could have ran from the pack house, especially with her speed. But instead, she threw herself on top of Lydia to protect her from the crashing building. A crashing building that is my fault.
