Perseverance of the Heart

Chapter 1 Deanna Stevens left the hospital excited; she found out that she is 3 months pregnant by her husband of 7 years, they have been together for 10 years and love each other with all their heart. Deanna couldn’t wait to get home and tell him; they had been trying for over a year now. She has always wanted children, but her husband insisted on waiting until they were financially stable, so they would not struggle, he wanted to make sure that they were well taken care of. Jeron Stevens started his business about 5 years ago and has been very successful at it, making millions of dollars with his company, so when he came to her a year ago and asked her to stop taking birth control so they could have a baby, Deanna was so excited. She almost gave up hope and thought she wasn’t able to conceive, but here she is unexpectedly 3 months pregnant. She walked into the house so excited, thinking she would cook him a nice dinner and pop the news to him, so when she walked in her house and saw her husband's briefcase, she was surprised to say the least. She went running up to their room without thinking and saw the one thing she never expected. Her husband was balls deep in her baby sister, moaning and panting, as he came in her sister, he happens to look up and see her, with shock in his face he pulled out and started panicking. Trying to run over to her, but she backed away, her sister started pleading with her that it was a mistake, and she didn’t mean for it to happen. Once Deanna got over the shock, she looked at both her husband and sister and calmly walked away, as she begins walking away and heading down the stairs, her sister and husband begin rushing around the room gathering their clothes. They both knew that Deanna was crazy especially when she was hurt. Before they knew it, she was in the kitchen picking up a butcher knife, running back up the stairs ready to kill them both, the hurt they put her through was a pain she just couldn’t imagine that either of them were capable of doing, these were the two people closest to her, because trust was not an easy thing to come by with her. In a flash, she finds herself in front of both of these two garbage people, swinging the knife, trying to stab both her sister and her husband. Her husband tries taking the knife from her pleading for her to stop, while trying to explain how he loves her and that her sister didn't mean anything to him. Holding her back from himself and her sister, he didn’t realize the strength Deanna possessed until that very moment. Suddenly her best friend Monica came running into the room, she had just walked into the house and heard Deanna screaming at them. Monica didn’t quite know what to think but she knew she had to get her best friend out of the house. The scene she ran into was one she least expected to find and from what she could gather Deanna had every reason to be going crazy right now. She really didn’t want to stop her, but she knew if she didn’t her best friend would go to jail for murdering her husband and sister. Deanna has always been a strong, resilient, independent woman, who loved with all of her heart without any regrets, and to see her sister in bed with the one man she had given her heart to for 10 years was devastating, but this wasn’t one of those romance novels where she would fall apart and take whatever was dished at her, she wasn’t weak. She would never let a man take her dignity, so she let her best friend pull her out of the house and into her car to help her get away. Deanna decided she would not be telling her husband about the baby, it’s not like he would care any way, obviously he wanted to be with her sister, and she would let him have his wish, she would never forgive either of them and any family that stuck by Jasmine’s side would lose her forever. All her life Jasmine was catered to because she was the baby, her brothers and parents thought the sun rose and set around her. Not Deanna though, she always saw her sister for what she was, a scheming, conniving, manipulating woman. She let her into her world because she wanted that sisterly bond and closeness, but no more she was done with her forever. The next few weeks Deanna was able to get the divorce processed and finalized, she managed to stay away from her sister, parents and husband during this time, everything was handled by her lawyer. Her husband tried to contact her on many occasions, but she ignored him and didn’t want to hear any of his explanations, there was no excuse for what he had done to her, he knew that when she was done with a situation, she was completely done. She decided to move out of state and make a new life for herself and her child, she would not stay and be made a fool of, and Jeron would never know about her baby.
