CHAPTER 25
“That must have been distressing,” Doctor Ling said. I noted a slight sound of suspicion in her voice as she connected the dots. Or at least what she thought the dots were. “But something must have changed if you were discharged less than three months later?”
I opened my mouth to respond, but the high-pitched sound of interference from the main viewer stopped me. All eyes in the room focused on the grainy images up on screen as they came into focus. The images remained black and white, but I could make out people running back and forth. It took a second to recognise several of them were in Exo-suits and, from the looks of it, were engaged in a firefight. From the camera angles it appeared to be security footage.
