Try smiling from the next time

1034 Words
The next morning, Vivian stepped out of her hostel, ready to head to college, when her phone buzzed with a notification. She quickly checked it, her eyes widening at the sight of a part-time job offer. Glancing at the time she was asked to come in, she muttered to herself, "4 p.m. I hope I can land this job easily. I really need the money." With that, she tucked her phone back into her pocket and continued on her way. Upon arriving at the college, Vivian couldn't shake the feeling of being watched as she noticed peculiar glances directed her way. Adjusting the rim of her glasses on her nose bridge, she couldn't help but wonder, 'Is there something on my face?' Suddenly, an arm draped around her, causing her to startle. Vivian quickly lifted her head to see Leone standing beside her. She attempted to step away, but his grip tightened, preventing her from escaping. "Have you prepared the proposal for our discussion?" Leone inquired, his gaze piercing into hers. "No, why would I do that?" Vivian retorted, pushing him away with her elbow. "Don't bother me in the morning," she stated firmly before swiftly walking ahead, practically fleeing from him. The students there whispered among themselves. "Are you two really together? I thought the nerd wasn't your type, Dude," Ross remarked while smiling. "She is Leone's group mate. Nothing more. Why do I think your mother has demanded something from you this time?" Dean asked while arching his brows. "Hell, yeah. I've to top the project and make sure no one bullies Vivian," Leone stated as he ran his fingers through his hair, "but she seems to take advantage of that." "By the way, Blake wasn't happy for what you di last evening. You should have let Blake handle Vivian. Perhaps, then she had left the college and your mother would not have put such high expectations from you," Dean suggested to him. Leone didn't like that fact that Dean said that about Vivian. But he decided to let it go. He couldn't show them he was actually worried for Vivian because of his damn wolf. The bell rang and everyone rushed to their respective lecture rooms. Professor Xavier was taking attendance when Leone entered accompanied by Ross and Dean. "Leone, you are late," Professor Xavier glared at him as he asked him to be on time or else he would deduct his marks. Leone ignored the warning and went straight to Vivian and sat beside her. She was stunned to see him and asked him to take the other seat. "Why? I can sit wherever I want," Leone declared defiantly. Deciding it was best to avoid further confrontation, Vivian grabbed her bag, intending to move to another seat. But before she could leave, Leone caught her hand. "You'll sit with me from now on, Human," he stated, his gaze intense as he locked eyes with her. Professor Xavier began the lecture on balance sheets, but Vivian couldn't shake off the feeling of being trapped. Pulling her hand away, she resigned herself to the situation and focused her attention entirely on the lecture, trying to ignore Leone's presence beside her. Throughout the lecture, Leone's attention remained fixated on Vivian. He continuously interrupted her by grabbing her pen, pulling her hair strands, or even attempting to snatch her notebook away. Despite his disruptive behavior, Vivian managed to endure and make it through the morning lectures. As lunchtime approached, she was relieved to finally have a break and headed towards the canteen. "Have lunch with me outside," Leone called out to Vivian. Vivian swiftly snatched her pen back from him. "Never!" she exclaimed before darting away from him, managing to reach the canteen. "What's wrong with him? He's becoming more and more of a nuisance," she muttered to herself as she entered the canteen. However, her hopes of a peaceful lunch were dashed when she saw the long line, prompting her to release a frustrated sigh. "Vivian! Come here," Leone's voice suddenly echoed through the canteen, causing her to turn towards the source. How had he managed to get there before her? As she glanced around, she realized that all the students were gossiping about her supposed involvement with Leone. The students gave her the way and she saw motion of Leone's hand to ask her to come to him. Vivian gulped thinking what kind of trick he was playing with her. She went to him with long strides, keeping her head low when he handed her the food tray. "Follow me," Leone said and dragged her along with him to the central seat. He pulled out a chair for her and made her sit on it. Vivian grabbed the spoon and began eating her food silently. She thought if she would not talk to Leone, he would simply walk away. However, it didn't happen. [Is Leone really dating Vivian? Gosh! She's so lucky] Vivian heard a gossip. "Did you spread rumors about us?" Vivian glared at him. "No. They got spread last night when I claimed you my girl," Leone asserted with a smirk. "Stop saying that!" Vivian gritted her teeth at him. "Why? It's true that you are my girl. You have to work for me soon," Leone said with a smile and stood up from his place. He took out his phone and took a selfie of them. "Try smiling from the next time. See you later, Human," Leone said and left her sight. Vivian couldn't believe he actually took a picture with her. But why? 'What is circulating in his head? Is he planning to ruin me? I've to get rid of him soon,' she thought while eating. Leone, on the other side, opened his car's door when Ziva stopped him. "Are you really going to ignore me? You said you liked being with me. You liked me, Leo," she stated. "I never said that I like you or like being with you. You took the wrong meaning of my attention," Leone pronounced. "You cannot date Vivian. She is nothing before me," Ziva said angrily. "She is better than you," Leone remarked and stepped into his car before driving away.
