"That one!" "No, That one!" "No, That one!" "Enough, stop it, you guys!" Lance exclaimed his hands raised in a frustrating position as if he was about to pull on his hair. Prince Joshua and Brian had been arguing about which tower to first explore for what seemed like ages, while Princess Amelia and Prince Lance stood quietly. The princess sighed before grabbing onto Prince Lance's hand and dragging him to the 3rd tower- the one that neither of the younger princes had mentioned. " hey, we never agreed on that one!" Brian pouted. "You come or you don't, it's up to you." The princess remarked still pulling prince Lance along. As they stood beneath the tower, the wind picked up speed. The leaves of the trees ruffled and fell on the ground being swept away instantly while both the younger princes followed. the shadow of the tower enveloped the area surrounding it, blocking all the sunlight giving it an even spookier vibe. The princess let prince Lance go and he pushed open the heavy door. The sudden cold feeling that enveloped both of them was unexplainable, it made several chills run down their spine. The tower stood completely quiet and empty on the inside. Too empty, so much so that not even an insect was heard. Prince Lance glanced around curiously before turning around to princess Amelia. "This is it, do you want to continue with the other towers?" The reluctance was clear in his face. It wasn't that he thought he was weak and won't be able to take down an enemy if any showed up, it was more like he was reluctant to do that around princess Amelia. As it would clearly give away the secret they were harboring. "Exploring means exploring let's go." The princess replied pulling him along by his hands as both the younger princes gulped and reluctantly followed them deeper into the darkness. This side of the mansion remained unoccupied and dusty, even when the rest of the whole mansion was clean and sparkly. They moved deeper and deeper into the darkness until they stood before a long hallway. The princess and prince Lance exchanged confused looks, a hallway inside a tower? Whose idea was that, shrugging it off both of them pulled the younger princes forward and began taking one careful step right after the other as to not disturb the silence of their surroundings. The princess slowly slid her hand out of Prince Lances as she curiously glanced around the dark brown walls. It was a beautiful structure and she was amazed by the sudden change in their environment. So amazed that she didn't notice when the princes behind her disappeared and the main door of the tower slammed shut... She continued walking while glancing around fondly, the place gave her an unexplainable feeling of warmth and peace and she felt as if she would doze off any second. Her steps slowed as she stared above her at the beautiful chandelier hanging from the middle of the room, illuminating every corner. It's light spreading out like spears on a battlefield. "It's beautiful isn't it?" "Indeed it is." Hearing the unfamiliar voice of a woman in reply the princess turned around, she couldn't see any of the princes behind her and it confused her. They were there just a moment ago weren't they? Her eyes caught movement in the corner of the room, a white gown fluttered in the sudden rush of wind that filled the room. A woman appeared as the wind slowed down enough for the princess to open her eyes. "Who are you?" The princess questioned, the woman stared at her confused because the previous passerby's had been scared of her while the princess looked absolutely normal. "You've come my child." The woman gasped. "Child? I'm afraid you have me mixed with someone else." "No child, the labyrinth of the dead never makes a mistake." "Labyrinth?" The princess questioned confused as her eyes once again scanned the absolutely normal looking hall before her. The woman snapped her fingers and that's when the princess understood what she meant. Several copies of the exact same hall one right after the other appeared on both of her sides. It seemed like a never-ending passage and as far as her eyes could see the same hall continued. "What do you mean by the labyrinth of the dead? I'm pretty sure I'm alive, aren't I?" The princess quickly grew slightly confused. Had the food been poisoned? Had she already been killed? Who was the woman she was talking to? And why was she wearing white? The questions swarmed her mind as she sat down feeling dizzy. "Don't pressure yourself child, you're perfectly healthy and alive." "Then how am I here?" "Fate has driven you here my child." "But I'm not alone, what happened to the princes who came with me?" "No one but you or your mate can access this hall, my child." "Mate?" "Your future partner." The woman corrected herself finding the princesses facial expressions quite amusing. Indeed the living was quite a fascinating thing. The fact that the princess was completely unaware of what was to come made her worry a little but she considered it for the best as it meant that the princess wouldn't put up a fight against it. "Future partner...?" "Like a mate." "Oh, so that's what you meant when you said, mate." The woman gave a nervous chuckle before reluctantly nodding her head. If the princess was oblivious till now the woman forced herself to believe that it was for the best. "Alright then, why am I here and where are the princes?" "You haven't come here yet my child and like I said fate has brought you here. Do not fret for time will reveal all, what you need to do is let it flow. Things will change, problems will rise and blood will be spilled but in the end, everything will be worth it." The princess continued to stare at the woman, whereas she understood what the woman implied she tried to focus on how that could possibly be linked to her. "Now wake up." With a snap of her fingers, the woman was gone and the princess sat up in her bed. She looked around in shock. How did she get there? Wasn't she in the tower just yet? "You're finally awake!" Jousha exclaimed jumping up from the chair he was sitting in. "Gosh, you scared us all to death!" Brian continued looking more worried than ever before. "What the hell happened out there?!" Lance joined in, his red hair a tousled mess from how many times he had run his hand through it. The princess gave the three a confused glance. "What?" She questioned, her throat dry and itchy as she spoke. "You fainted on us, right before we entered the tower at that. Do you know how worried we were." Lance spoke up making the princess stared at him quizzically. They didn't enter the tower? What did she see then? What's happening? Was that all just a dream? Or was what the woman said true? Brushing the thoughts aside. She gave them a reassuring smile before clearing her throat. She finally noticed Prine Holland, who had been standing at the corner all along. He held out a glass of water for her and she took it feeling grateful. Swallowing the water and relishing in the feeling of relief that washed over her, she turned her gaze to the 2 princes who had just entered. "How are you feeling?" Prince Jack questioned as Prince Levi gave her a once over and spoke up. "If my senses don't fail me. I'm guessing you stayed the night up?" The princess nodded as he sighed. "That explains why you fainted, Lack of sleep had taken its toll on your body. But, the stress of today's events had a major hand in it." "What do you mean?" She questioned her head tilted to the side. "Lack of sleep, extreme stress and starvation at the exact same time take that sort of a toll on a person." The princess nodded her head finally understanding what the prince meant. "So it's nothing serious?" Lance questioned. "No, It's nothing that we should worry about that much for now. I'll make sure you get the proper amount of nutrients that your body requires." "Bu-" "No buts in this one, It's about your health you can't compromise on that, besides don't you want to explore with us?" Brian spoke up his arms folded in front of him as he rolled his eyes. "Alright then, but am I not eating enough already?" "You are but don't forget that you are also a growing female and with all the unpacking you can get tired out and faint again." The princess nodded at Prince Levis words while everyone released a sigh of relief. "Sorry for making you guys worry." They all gave her a smile. "No worries your highness. We'll leave you to rest then." Prince Jack left while dragging all of his brothers out behind him as the princess laid down. the prince closed her door and led all his brothers away as the princess lay awake for a little while longer, dwelling on the dream she had.
