Prince Jack led the princess to his room silently contemplating his life choices. His brothers were never going to let him live it down, he had asked for help. He. Him. The jack. Had asked for help.
He held the door open as the princess entered and scanned his room until her eyes landed On the table in front of the window. The paper rustled under the wind, the pens aligned in front on top of the shelf and a small squishy sat below the shelf holding a clock in its furry palms.
"We're writing to the elders right?"
"Yes."
The prince replied pulling the chair back so the princess could sit while he respectably stood by the side ready to take any notes if needed.
"Is there anything- why are you standing?"
"I... don't know?"
The princess chuckled and gestured to his bed.
"You can take a seat, your highness, this is your room."
"Please, call me jack."
"Sure thing prince jack, is there anything, in particular, you want to mention in the letter?"
The prince silently thought over his choices while the princess gave him all the time he would need to make a decision.
The prince didn't want to state out loud about how lazy he felt whenever he thought about having to write letters every day. So he did what every other person with a secret would do. Replied as a no.
"Are you sure, as far as I know, writing letters every day will be quite problematic."
The prince's gaze immediately transferred to her as he realized she had either read his mind or his face.
"Okay... Uhh, can you mention that I wouldn't write them a letter until something important comes up?"
"No problem, just give me a minute. You can leave if you want to I can call you to read it once it's done."
"Are you sure your highness?"
"Absolutely."
"I'll return to check on you shortly."
The princess nodded her head as the prince took his leave before turning to the letter and without much thought, she began writing.
Dear Royal heads,
We have arrived at our destination, safe and sound and are definitely hoping for things to go along smoothly. If there will be any problems in the future I will inform you immediately as I will not be able to forge a letter every day.
Thank you for your time,
Prince Jack.
As she reread her letter the door opened and prince holland walked in.
"Thank you very much for doing this, your highness."
"No worries, just call me Amelia we have a whole year to get to know one another and I don't think referring to me formally will help us simplify things."
The prince chuckled before nodding his head and walking up to the desk.
"Are you done already?"
"Yes."
The princess replied as the prince took his leave before returning with prince jack.
"You're done with it so soon?"
"My mother requested me to write a letter to them as soon as we reach here so I have given them the details already. And since not much has happened up till now the letter remained as simple And straight forward as this one."
"Alright."
The prince replied shocked to know that the princess was also told to write to the elders.
"Is there a problem?"
She questioned noticing the princes confused look.
"No, absolutely not your highness, I'm just wondering how many people have been told to write to the elders."
"The Queen probably wants all the details so she'll compare our letters to see which one lacks it or if what we're telling her is authentic or not, however you don't need to worry as I have already given her a valid reason as to why I won't be writing to them regularly."
"Alright, your highness. Are you hungry? we've requested for the food to be displayed as soon as possible."
"Yes, I'm starving."
She replied standing up from the chair slowly, both the princes smiled before leading her outside Jack in front and Holland closing the door behind them. They walked in comfortable silence which was shattered as they approached the living room.
Both the princes picked up their pace, eager to know what was going on.
All three of them paused staring at the mess before them in absolute surprise. Both Joshua and Brian were wrestling on the ground, tossing and turning one another over and over again.
The few paintings that had littered the walls previously were now ripped and their golden frames cracked or broken. The Blood-red velvet curtain that had hung in front of a large window was torn to shreds, a small vase lay broken by the corner. The cushions from the couch were ripped open their insides littering the whole room in feathers and wool.
Prince Jacob, Derek, Claud and Landon sat in the middle curve of the stairs their legs dangling from between the wooden bars as they hooted and cheered for two separate teams.
"Oh my God."
Holland whispered exasperatedly.
The two boys continued to wrestle completely ignoring the presence of the three of them. The fight wasn't dangerous it was just where each of them tried to tackle the other.
"What is going on here?!"
Jace showed up through the second entrance into the living room and paused in his steps taking in the mess that surrounded the whole room.
"What's with all the noise?"
Prince Levi showed up through the third entrance soon followed by a frantic looking prince Lance.
"Guys he's coming, you need to stop making that ruckus!"
He exclaimed successfully grabbing all the attention within the room. The princes stopped in the midst of tackling on another while the four sitting at the stairs paused their chanting and jack along with Holland, Amelia, Levi, and Jace stared at Lances slightly messy and panting form.
He looked frantic as if he was truly very frightened of whoever he was speaking about.
He panted and inhaled slowly to calm himself down.
"What were you doing?"
"Working out."
He replied.
"Who were you talking about?"
"Ace! Your noise pollution woke him up."
Right on cue the door to the fourth entrance of the living room burst open and slammed harshly against the wall behind it.
Prince Ace stood in the way his eyes narrowed to slits as he glared at his brothers in utter rage.
"A-Ace, sorry we didn't know you were resting!"
Brian immediately jumped off of Joshua and apologized to Ace, looking a little pale himself confusing the princess a bit more.
Jack and Holland audibly gulped and visibly tensed as Aces glare turned to them, Amelia, on the other hand, stood staring at the prince curiously. He alone had the capability to make such a chaos stop before rattling the whole of the planet.
"we just arrived."
Holland stated, smiling, slowly his hands raised in a surrendering way. The princes' glare turned to Lance, Levi, and Jace all of them almost immediately straightening up.
"We just came as well."
Levi spoke up while both Jace and Lance nodded furiously. Sighing Ace turned his gaze to the princes at top of the stare and the four of them stared at him with wide eyes.
"Sorry."
They all mumbled softly making Ace heave another sigh his eyes training on the princess again. She just stood before him her eyes narrowed curiously and head tilted slightly. Snapping out of her staring fest she gave him a warm smile before walking up to Joshua and being the first one to break the silence.
"What is going on here?"
Her hands landed at her hips as she stared down at the prince laying at the floor.
"We were playing."
He stated while pouting with puppy eyes to not get scolded but Amelia was as good as immune to that look. And she frowned.
"A game which can lead to either of you being hurt shouldn't be played."
"But nearly every game we know is a little bit dangerous."
Prince Brian defended making the princess sigh and turn to him scanning him up and down. His shirt had wrinkles on it and his hair was a mess.
"Should we tell the elders about this?"
Jack questioned from the back both the younger princes stiffening at his tone. And turn to him shocked and trying to seem innocent. Jack was unaffected by it and realizing this both of them turned their pleading gaze to Amelia.
She sighed and walked forward bending down and gently petting Joshua's head.
"I think we can overlook this once, it's our first day here after all and if we start the complains now the elders might get another funny idea."
Prince Jacob snorted from the top of the stairs.
"I agree, it's just a game, after all, why are you guys taking this so seriously."
"I'm afraid you misinterpreted my words, your highness, I by no means agree to roughhousing. Games should not involve any form of violence and besides, we have been told to inform them immediately if anyone of us gets injured. The cut on prince Joshua's forehead could lead them and the four of you as spectators To a lot of trouble."
The prince gulped as all the others stared at Amelia as she took claim and steered the situation. She gave prince Joshua a hand helping him up before turning to prince jack.
"I'll take these two and tend to any of their injuries meanwhile you can check on the food."
The prince nodded as princess Amelia led both princes Brian and Joshua out of the room by their hands. As the door closed behind them silence filled the room.
"What just happened?"
Prince Jace questioned making Lance snort.
"You just learned a lesson."
