Chapter 15

2311 Words
11 years ago.. "Your highness! Please slow down!" The demon maids pleaded to Blythe who was running from them carelessly. "You can't catch me!" Blythe said waving her hand and giggling at the maids who looked very exhausted from trying to catch her. Blythe ran towards the area where red leaves glimmer which looked like the underworld forest. "Your highness!" They will definitely not find me here! Blythe giggled and ran into the forest as the maids followed her even though they were already exhausted. They'll never be able to catch me at this rate. Hehe.. 'Blythe' Blythe flinched and looked around her. "Who's there..? I'm not scared of you!" Blythe said with her fist clenched to stop from trembling but she could feel that the voice was smiling just behind her every time she turned. 'Chisuke' Blythe froze as a flash of what will happen came to her. She looked to the darkest part of the forest as a shadow appeared. "Show yourself!" Blythe yelled with her childish voice at the direction she saw with her skill. "Hello, child." The red haired young boy walked in the light. "How do you know my name?" Blythe said in a serious tone as if all childishness she had a moment ago went away. "Hm..I see they've erased them again." He whispered to himself. "Well, no matter." He said grinning. "I know everything about you, Chisuke. From the moment you were born to when the bullet reached your heart." He said with a menacing look as Blythe froze. "Then.. were you the one who called me to this world?" She asked with all her courage. "Hmm.. was I?" He giggled. "I merely found out your existence due to my connections outside the country." He continued. "Then, why was I born here? What was my purpose?" "You're quite bold to ask a stranger so many things." "So, you're not gonna tell me?" "I didn't say that either~ But.. if you agree to my terms, I might just let you know." Grinding her teeth, Blythe released a fire ball at the kid but he just shrugged it off. "My, is that how you treat your informant?" "If you won't tell me your purpose, then we don't have anything to discuss. And I'd rather a human die than my people." Blythe said, making the child smile even wider. "The thing is, I'm not human." The child said as his entire being became distorted and transformed into the likes of Blythe. From her hair to her toes. "What.. are you?" Blythe asked with confusion and fear all over her face. "I know you despise humans that's why I know you will love my terms." Blythe couldn't utter a word. "It's simple, really. I only need your cooperation in return, I will eradicate humanity from your land and, well, end this war so you can live peacefully knowing your demon parents will be safe." He smiled at her who had so much doubt. "What do you.. gain from this if I agree?" She didn't even flinch when I said we could kill the humans. Such an easy creature to manipulate. "I also hate humans, too~ But... what I really hate are people who betray and knock you out to the point where your soul can no longer take it." He said as if he said that to gain Blythe's sympathy. "You.. were betrayed by humans, too, huh?" Blythe said with a sorrowful look not noticing the smirk that the shifter had on his face. "Yes. They ruined me and made me fall in love but left me in the end.." "I'm.. sorry to hear that. What can I do to ease your pain?" Blythe asked. "You would really do that? You would help me?" "Of course. You've been through so much.. you deserve to get what you want." The shifter was shocked to hear what she said, as if she had seen right through his memories. He shrugged it off and pretended to act sorrowful but hid a menacing grin that Blythe could not see. "Well..." -- "Sire, the Elves request a large amount of back up funds for the new crops they have obtained recently." "New crops my a*s. The last crop they introduced became a disaster as it wasn't compatible with the living conditions of our kingdom. Tell them to prove first that this crop is no different from the others they introduced." The demon king commanded. A maid and a soldier suddenly barged into the throne room with worry written all over their faces. "What's so urgent that you have to barge into the throne room unannounced?" The demon king said with a threatful tone. "Sire! The palace forest is up in flames, sire!" The soldier said in an unshaken tone. "So? just absorb the flames. We always have forest fires in this kingdom, what's new? ugh" The king said holding his head. "But-" "You, maid. why have you barged in here?" "Sire! The princess is in that forest! And a lot of her attendants are still in there, sire!" The maid said with a shaking tone. The king's expression turned to a troubled one. "Soldier..." "Sire, we could not absorb the flames. It seems to come from a powerful source." The king stood up from his throne and looked at his secretary with a very disturbed look. "Send all the military troop to stop the fire. No... I will go there, myself." The kind said spreading his dark wings and fled through the glass window breaking it to pieces. He flew towards the palace forest which was now fully engulfed in flames. My daughter. My child.. where are you? The king flew from one direction to another 'til he found Blythe in the middle of the flaming disaster, giggling and frolicking but her eyes were glowing as she saw her father above her. She waved her hand with a smile that he could not recognize as he went near her. "I knew you were coming, daddy!" she said with a smile on her face. "Blythe.. stop this at once." The king said as Blythe's expression changed. "You're gonna hit me, daddy? You're gonna hurt me and fight me. But not before I could hurt daddy first." Blythe said as she moved back and threw a fireball at the king who dodged it. "Blythe! Stop this!" "I knew daddy would dodge. Because daddy is great! hehe.. But daddy, you won't see this one coming." Blythe said as a blade with blue fire wrapped around the edges swung towards the king who immediately dodged it. When he thought he had gotten away with it, another blade swung that was impossible for him to dodge. Unable to do anything, his shocked face was still unmoved when the blade was stopped with a hand. "You're spoiling her too much, your majesty." Touya said. "Master..." "Huh? Why... Why couldn't I see you come in? Why Why Why! I hate this! DIE DIE DIE!" Blythe said throwing a tantrum and consecutively threw blue fireballs at the dodging Touya. Touya dodge every single one and disappeared in thin air. "Where-" Blythe gasped as she turned to see Touya cast a very powerful sleeping spell than made her fall to the ground. "Master..You have returned.." The demon king said. "Let's not talk here, my king. For now.." Touya created a small gust in his palm and raised it up. With a snap, the small gust became a strong wind that blew out the fire in a matter of seconds. When they returned to the palace, the demon king and queen, as well as the master gathered around Blythe's unconcious body. Touya placed his hand above Blythe who was unconcious and moved it from her head to her toes. When he stopped, he gave a very frustrated look. "Her emotions were unstable like it was only focusing on one energy. It made her forget all other emotions and raged on everything." "She has also done very bad deeds as a child. We thought it was just child's play and we didn't want her to remember them so we decided to erase her memories knowing that the spell will work on her. I didn't know she had this much of just one emotion. What emotion is it, master?" The queen explained as she caressed her daughter's head. "Hm.. This is unexplainable. She grew up in a very loving environment, so why would she develop anger?" Touya said. "Anger? But we've never seen Blythe angry before. She was always happy around us. Is she... angry at us?" The king asked with a broken heart because of his question. "Magic is a very powerful entity that resides among beings. Mana circulates throughout the body but most of them circulate in the brain. When an emotion is triggered, it is usually attached to a thing that the user has experienced. For example, love for peace, sadness for loss, and anger for war. It's never usually just love, sadness, or anger. For your daughter, it's very unusual to be very angry without a subject. It was just pure anger.." "Oh dear.. my baby." The queen said as tears formed her eyes. "Is there something we can do, master?" the king said seemingly unfazed. "For now, we can seal her abilities and continue to erase her memories when she does these." "But we've tried sealing off her abilities countless of times. In the end, she always ends up breaking it." Touya turned Blythe's body around to check on the supposed seal. "No wonder. Who casted this?" "The great demon sage." "Ugh. That bastard couldn't even perfect a sealing spell at his age..." Touya grunted. "Seal of Bermuda." Touya casted as a circle with strings inside of it appeared on Blythe's back. "For now, this will do. But the more she grows, the more her mana overflows. We mustn't waste time or else..." Touya place down Blythe to lay down. "Or else what?" the king asked with a confused look. "Sire, do you know of the continent of Esberg?" "Yes. That country has been in peace with both monsters and humans and have shared equal rights." "Sire, forgive me for being blunt, but the information of the demons are way behind. After working with the flugels, I gained access to human knowledge that were hidden for even ordinary humans to know. In the outside, Esberg seems like a decent country with no war and are at peace with different species. But in actuality, that country has been repenting for thousands of years for a sin that can never be forgiven." "What do you mean?" The king's eyebrows furrowed. "Before, Esberg was just like Avansur. A country that is at war between demons and humans. Always getting into each other's throat for land expansion. However, there reached a point of agreement when a young girl appeared out of no where in the middle of a battle, saying she is not from this world and that she came bearing the news from the ruler of all. At first, the demons and humans gave in and accepted each other to live in peace. They even gave the girl a title of Saint as she was sent from the heavens according to scriptures. But living with each other was too burdensome. Peace didn't last long and soon, war broke out. b****y battle fields followed one day after another. And then, on one fateful battle, the Saint they titled stood in the middle of the battlefield. Records say, she whispered words that nobody could understand and started to surround herself with light. And that light just kept on glowing and glowing until the country was covered entirely with it. Even neighboring countries like Avansur and Galland could see the continent's light. A week passed that no shipments came from the country so investors had to come to see if they got scammed out of their money. But to their surprise, the country was covered entirely in ash. The green grasses were nothing but dirt. Soon, a party from each country were hired to scout the areas but not one living thing existed. As if the continent itself had turned to dust and no one could explain it. But... they found a chest in the middle of the ash and dirt. In there were scriptures of what had happened and a book. A children's book that claimed there was once a Queen of all being and that she scattered her soul to clense the world." "But what does that have to do with our Blythe?" The queen looked confused. "I'm sorry to say this but... I believe that your daughter... will have the same fate as the saint of Esberg." Touya said looking at the unconcious Blythe. The king looked more troubled than before as he comforted his crying wife. "How sure are you that this information is all true?" The king asked. "I swear on my grave, your majesty. I had not once deceived the throne nor will I ever. My words are all for demon kingdom and to my king and queen." Touya said. "What can we do, master?" The king asked. "We need to train her... and if possible, keep her away from destruction. I can personally look after the young princess and teach her along the way until she reaches my level. But after that, the only thing we need to do is hope she doesn't stray towards our end. I believe that whatever we do, it will come one day. We can only delay it but not prevent it. When that day comes, we need to trust this little girl to make the right decision." The room filled with tension became a room filled with fear as the days will pass by quicker than they could have ever imagined. To be continued...
