Dani knew what was wrong with her she had her bleed twice after she returned home and haddent had it sense the wedding, She was with Child. How would she tell Keld he would he leaving for England soon for the raids and wouldnt be back for some time, would the baby be here when he returned. Taking the water Colden brought to her she drank slowly. Keld led her to sit as she did he knelt infront of her.
"Was it the ride?"
"No"
"Are you sick do i need to get the..."
"NO No " she cut him off "Im not ill im with child."
"What" A smile spread across his face "Im going to be a father?"
"Yes"
Keld couldnt contain his happiness he lifted her into his arms laughing with joy. He sat her on her feet he kissed her he grabbed her hand and led her into the hall to where her father stood. Keld turned tward the crowd of people many where from Hedeby and Avaldsnes. "IM GOING TO BE A FATHER!!! MY WIFE IS WITH CHILD" Keld yelled to the room cheers rang up from everyone. Dani looked over her mother Thrya was smiling as she walked over to her.
"May Frejia bless you my Dagney."
"Thank you mother."
"I am truly happy" Rangvaldr said as he pulled her into a hug.
"Thank you father"
Keld came up behind her and placed his hands over her belly holding her and his child he kissed her. The evening came and Dani watched as her father stood in the front of the hall. Sigrun was chained to the floor infront of him. Looking to Keld who was walking with Olin to stand beside Rangvaldr.
"Sigrun you are charged with Kidnapping my daughter Dagney wife of Earl Keld, How do you plea?"
"Guilty"
Rangvaldr looked to Olin then to Keld, "Blood eagle will be your punishment for kidnapping and insighting war."
Sigruns face fell as Ranvaldr sentenced him. "When?"
"Tonight"
"My people need a new Earl my king"
"I know i have an Earl for the people of Roskilde, My son Olin will be Earl"
Olin looked at their father in suprise then to her husband, Keld nodded to Olin in agreement Keld told him 'you have proven yourself worthy of being Earl.' Olin stepped forward beside Rangvaldr tall and proud as Earl Olin. With a new Earll named her father ordered two men to take Sigrun to the alter outside, everyone walked behind them as they gathered to watch the punishment comence.
Dani couldnt move she didnt know if she could stomach the sight of what was going to happen. Keld stood at the alter with her father and Olin. Colden came up beside her she looked over at him. "Why arent you up there your the one who captured him?"
"Its not my place, I do as im ordered"
"Thank you"
"How are you feeling, i Heard you are with Child."
"Yes, Im fine"
"Is it mine?"
"No!" Shocked at his question."Why would you ask that?"
"Because we was together Dani"
"Ive bleed twice sense we was together Colden, so no Its not your baby its my Husbands"
Colden looked as if he ws going to cry when she looked at him. "Even if it was possable it still wouldnt be your child, I am married to Earl Keld."
"I know, trust me i know."
Colden walked away Dani's heart sank she hated that he was hurting she loved him cared for him he was her oldest friend. Trying to distract her thoughts she returned her attention to her Father and Sigrun, He was screaming in pain as her father sliced the skin from his back. Her stomach turned and nausea hit her she turned away from the sight infront of her. She knew the punishment was just and her father was right but the brutality of the punishment was savage.
The screaming finally stopped Dani felt a hand on her shoulder Keld whispered in her ear, "Are you okay?"par
"That was alot to take in"
"I know but it had t be done, an example had to be made."
"i know" she said quietly
"Come lets go you need to rest."
