Hedeby was a wonderful place Dani looked as though she was happy here. Keld smile when he saw her sitting by the fire her belly had grown with their child. He and the other raiders left after the punishment of Sigrun was carried out and he had brought Dani to Hedeby. Rangvaldr said they would be back before the birth. Dani told him she didnt want him to miss it and he promised he wouldnt and he kept his promise as he walked into his hall a smile spread across her face. She struggled to her feet a little he noticed a smile spread across his face as he saw her she wobbled as she walked to him. Keld dropped to his knees infront of her and wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed his child. 

"Ive missed you" Dani said to him as he got to his feet pulling her in for a kiss.

"I missed you to my love'

"My daughter how you have grown" Rangvaldr said as he walke up beside them Thrya reaching out for her cradling Dani's belly.

"Ive come to help you with the birth.'

"Thank you mother, i know the time is near"

"Really?" he said to her

"Yes Husband, ive been having pains all morning."

"Thats exciting and just in time " Thrya pulled dani in for a hug 

"Any day now" Eydis said as she walked into the room

Looking over at his brothers daughter he was happy she was here looking after Dani in her state. Eydis was a mother of Four and the midwife here in Hedeby. Dani was safe in her hands he had seen Eydis cut a child from the mothers womb and the mother lived because of the skill she possesed, The gods have really blessed her. In the night as they layed in bed he wrapped his arms around Danis belly he couldnt be happier to be home it has been a week sense his return and the waiting for the baby to come was driving him crazy, many times during the night he would talk to his child willing it to come so he could hold hiim or her in his arms. Keld slept holding on to the love of his life and his child.

"Keld wake up" Dani said as she pushed on is shoulder

"what is it?, whats wrong?"

"Get up, Go Get Eydis and mother"

"Why?" he said half asleep then the realization of what she is saying hit him and he stot up out of the bed. par

"ITs time." pain in her voice

Keld ran from the room to get Eydis and Thrya. Moments later the three of them rushed into the room dani was on the bed breathing hard, sweat ran down her face. Thrya rushed to her side grabbing a cloth to whipe away the sweat and move the hair from her face. Out of no where a servent rushed in with hot water and cloths Eydis looked at him. "Are you staying if so get over here and hold her hand its almost time she is close" Walking to dani he sat behind her on the bed and leaned her against his chest. 

"Your doing good my love"

"It hurts"

"I know but you are strong"

What seemed like hours had passed and Dani's pain got worse she screamed out and the sounds ripped thew him. He didnt know what to do he looked at Eydis consern in her eyes. 

"Dani i need you to get in the birthing stance on your knees" Helping her Dani was on her knees infront of him he encouraged her to brace herself on him.

"Okay Dani its time to push"

Dani pushed as hard as she could over and over she cried out in pain. The baby should be here by now he thought to himself. 

"STOP DANI STOP!!" Eydis cried out "Something is wrong, Keld help me move her to her back"

Fear over welemed him as he helped lay Dani on the bed and he knelt on the floor beside her as Eydis checked Dani. Thrya brought cloths over to clean away the blood there was so much blood. "The baby is breached i have to move him in to the right position

"Do it" Dani cried

Eydis worked then froze her eyes found mine "I feel his feet i cant turn him"

"What does that mean" He said to her as fear filled him.

"Cut him out Eydis." Dani said threw gritted teeth

"Dani if i do this there is a chance you wont survive "

"My child will live Eydis cut him out Now before he dies"

Dani looked at him tears in her eyes "No matter what happens I love you and take car of our child."

"I love you and you will survive this.''

"Bite down on this" Eydis handed her peice of wood. When Dani bite down Eydis explained to him he needed to keep Dani still as best that he can Thrya came back into the room he hadnt noticed she left, She explained she went to update Rangvaldr. Eydis took a deep breath and cut Dani's belly,Dani screamed out in pain Eydis worked as fast as she could and had he servent help control the bleeding. Dani's screams ripped his heart in half he held her hands and whispered in hr ear knowing she couldnt hear him. Her breathing slowed and her eyes started to close.He wass losing her."Dani Dani stay with me please stay awake i know it hurts baby but please stay awake dont leave me." he cried to her. 

"its a boy "Eydis said as she worked to clean dani and close her wound, Thrya grabbed the baby from the servent and went to wash the blood from him. He had a son and his wife was dying. Kelds world was falling around him, He looked down at Dani her eyes were focused on the baby and her mother she was fading fast. Keld held her close to him as Eydis worked.par

"Dont leave me please"par

"the gods have a plan for me, maybe this was it to give you a son.''par

"This isnt the only plan that the all father has for you" he kissed her and cried out to Odin."Dont take her Odin please dont take her from me."par
