The Return of the Abandoned Luna

Are they at it again? Avery wanted to laugh at herself. She was almost fooled by the very scheme she had promised not to fall for. She almost bit the trap.

“Let’s go home for now, Luna. Wandering too far from the pack house is dangerous for the time being,” Beta Brylle declared.

It seems that Beta Brylle forgot that she is also strong, stronger than him, stronger than any average Luna. Though she knew that fighting alone against a pack of werewolves was too much for her, she just followed the beta quietly. Who knows? Maybe that man was just observing them from the sidelines, and once they let their guard down, they would attack them again.

Avery needs to be more careful.

On the way to the pack house, Avery noticed the other werewolves who were caught up in the attack. They had bruises all over them, and some were lying on the ground, almost lifeless. Avery noticed the seriousness of the situation. From her calculation, the werewolves in the forest, excluding the frivolous man he met, are only ten werewolves in total, but they were already reduced to this. They have hundreds of warriors! And what frustrated her even more was that she wasn’t even with them when the attack happened. She regretted not being with them to fight alongside her people, but she also knew that it wasn’t her fault. It was not in her control. If only the Alpha hadn’t gotten home early just to be with another woman and continued their patrol in the area, they would have a clue about the attack. They could have prepared…

“Luna!” Maya shouted.

“Are you okay? What about the others?” Avery asked worriedly.

“They are fine Luna,” Maya answered. Avery looked at Maya and sighed in relief when she confirmed that she was unharmed, unlike those whom he had seen earlier. Maya moved closer to her. “Luna, please be careful. They are up to something. I will tell you the details later,” Maya whispered. Avery nodded. Maya left her to help the civilians get some treatment.

“What exactly happened here?” Avery turned to Brylle and asked.

“Haven’t you encountered them?” Brylle asked with his brows knitted. “Did they not hurt you? It is impossible that they will leave you unscathed when you are the reason why they tried to raid the territory! Even the Alpha…”

Avery’s brows creased. What is he talking about? Was she the reason for the sudden attack? She doesn’t even know a single werewolf outside the territory because she was bound inside. She can’t offend someone outside the territory because she can’t get out. She was bound inside as if some prisoner! She couldn’t possibly be the reason for the attack! And from what she had encountered in the forest, it seems that they didn’t know her. They were only trying to attack her because she was with that man who claims to be the beta of the Prometheus clan! “What happened to the Alpha?”

Beta Brylle looked at Avery angrily. “He almost died trying to defend the territory! While you are out there, he was here sacrificing his life for the pack! If it wasn’t because of Georgina, we would be grieving the death of the Alpha right now.”

Avery was so confused, and what Brylle stated just confused her even more. “How come that the weak-looking girl saved an Alpha? It is physically impossible, considering her weak constitution inside and out.”

“Are you saying that I am fabricating it? Even the civilians saw that!”

Avery wanted to confirm it. She rushed over to the hospital where her chosen mate’s scent is. When she arrived, Avery almost attacked them on the spot. He caught them kissing, and both were turning red as if they had been doing the deed for a long time. Georgina was on top of James, grinding her hips on him, while James’ hand was wrapped around Georgina’s waist as he guided her movement. Avery felt nauseous while her wolf growled in pain. So this is a matter of life and death for Brylle?

The pain started to grow in her as if her insides were being stabbed all over again. The pain kept growing that her wolf started growling in agony. It was one of the downsides of being marked; the rejection would turn to physical pain. Once your partner started growing some affection to another person, you will have to suffer from unimaginable pain.

“What the f**k do you think you’re doing?” Avery asked angrily.

Alpha James looked at Avery with his cold gaze. “So the traitor finally showed up!” he declared.

Avery couldn’t bear what the Alpha just declared. He has already reached a verdict without further investigating the case. Though James was aware that Avery could never betray him. Betraying the pack was equivalent to tainting the blood pact, and James knew that Avery couldn’t do it even if she wanted to! “Traitor? You dare to defame me of being a traitor when you are the one who did not follow the original agreement?” Avery stated. “First, you brought a girl home without even finishing your patrol! And now, I caught you doing the deed, and you dare say that I am the traitor?”

“I saw you with someone else in the forest…” Georgina declared. “You were obviously flirting with him!”

“Do you have evidence with you?”

“I…”

“You have no evidence, yet you dare to pass such an immoral act on me when you are here, grinding your freaking ass to someone’s husband? And you’re even enjoying yourself while knowing you are a mistress? Just how low can you go?”

“Enough! The scent of your affair lingers in you,” James declared. “I am sure that you can barely smell it because of my mark, but you reek! I never knew that you were such a slut, Avery.”

“I was just helping that boy because he was barely conscious!”

“Lies! The other pack was on the attack because you are seducing another Alpha from another pack!” James angrily declared. “You did not even think of what it will cause our pack! I never knew that you were such a person, Avery. You act all mighty because of your parents, but behind that façade, you’re just a b***h waiting to get spanked!”

Avery was so confused. How did it end up like this? She couldn’t keep up because everything was happening so quickly. She couldn’t keep up.

“Beta Brylle, lock up the Luna and make her spill everything she knows about those people who attacked our territory. Do everything to make her talk. From now on, Avery is no longer the Luna of the Silver Pack, but a traitor! Treat her accordingly!”
