A New Friend

As the unicorn dropped her by the door,she knocked lightly and the door opened on it's own. She went in and saw the room was empty. OK, creepy much? She entered into the room and the door shut on it's own accord. Her eyes gazed around the room and she was impressed,it was quite big and had all the facilities for one's comfort. As she continued admiring the place, she felt a light tap on her shoulder,she nearly jumped out of her skin. "I'm sorry,I didn't mean to scare you." A very beautiful but dark skinned girl apologized.

Her heart rate returned to normal. "It's OK." She said with a smile. "My name is Brianna and yours?" The girl asked stretching forth her hand for a shake,Carissa took it. "And I'm Carissa." She introduced. "Oh,sweet me! You're the chosen one." Brianna nearly shrieked. "Am I really that popular?" Carissa had to ask. "Are you kidding me? The whole kingdom's been waiting for your arrival, your name is a household thing and because it's considered precious, no one has been named Carissa seen the prophecy." Brianna revealed and Carissa felt puzzled, wasn't it all a little too much?

"I don't think that's really necessary. I'm just like anyone else,I'm here to learn and serve, not be worshipped." Carissa said and Brianna beamed. "I like you already, so humble." And Carissa smiled too.

"So,Brianna what are you exactly?" Carissa was curious to know. "Good question, I'm a fairy." Brianna disclosed taking a seat and Carissa followed suit. "But where are your wings?" Carissa was confused.

"I only let my wings out when I wanna fly. I wouldn't wanna get them wet,they take hours to dry and having wet wings isn't exactly the best feeling." Brianna explained and Carissa nodded.

"Can I just see them,just for a little bit?" Carissa asked. "Of course, you don't have to ask twice." Brianna said and Brianna shook slightly and out of the blues came out very beautiful transparent wings that had nice patterns on them."Wow! They're so beautiful, I'm just glad I decided to stay. I can't believe I would've missed all of this. "Carissa said and Brianna giggled.

" OK, enough about me. Tell me about yourself. "Brianna requested and Carissa reclined back into the chair " Well my name is Carissa as you already know,I'm 18 and I think I'm a witch or something like that."Carissa almost stumbled on her own words.

"You sounded so cute. Don't worry, I know you'll do great. You're the chosen one after all." Brianna said and Carissa heaved. "You see,that's the problem. You put too much faith in me and it's really scary. I haven't even learnt a thing and you think I'm going to save all of you." Carissa said and Brianna gave her a hug.

"You know,you remind me of my best friend on earth. Her name's Anya and she's just as sweet as you." Carissa said and Brianna smiled. They pulled apart. You should really get some sleep now,we have class early tomorrow and you'll be getting your spirit animal." Brianna said climbed into her bed.

"What's a spirit animal?"

"Well,it's like kind of a guide. Well,more of like a pet or a companion. It's not a compulsory process, if you don't want a spirit animal, you just say the word." Brianna explained and Carissa nodded.

"No,it's fine. I've actually always wanted a pet." She said and Brianna yawned. "Alright,goodnight. We have to sleep early so we'll get to class early." Brianna said and laid down.

"Yeah,you're right. Good night." She said and also laid down on the very soft bed but try as she must,she couldn't sleep. She kept thinking of the events that led her up to this point. The nightmares, waking up later than usual and then finding out she could read people's minds. Wait a minute, if she could really read people's minds then why couldn't she read anyone's here? Maybe It was because everyone here was magical. She wasn't sure but she would ask Brianna in the morning.

Her thoughts raced back,reading people's minds had brought on a somewhat forced hysteria and she panicked, nearly having an accident on her way home. And she remembered the next move that had changed her whole life forever. Talking to herself in the mirror and her reflection talking back,the shock and her own reflection mocking her and then convincing her. She foolishly deciding to stick her hand in that cursed mirror, it sucking her into a void and her waking up here. It was all clear now,it was all destiny at work but one that was playing sick jokes on her.

Before she could sleep,it was already morning and just when the slumber was getting good,Brianna woke her up. "Wake up Carissa or we'll be late for class." Brianna said shaking her and she turned groggily. "I really need to sleep,just give me five more minutes." She yawned as Brianna continued to shake her. "Come on,get up. You don't wanna be late on your first day." Brianna tried to persuade but Carissa was having none of it.

She hatched a plan and giggled a bit before levitating Carissa from the bed and dropping her roughly on the couch. "Ouch!" Carissa exclaimed more than she needed to. "I'm sorry, you just wouldn't wake up so I was compelled to." Brianna apologized and Carissa found her way to the bathroom. When they were both ready,Brianna called Stacy.

The winged unicorn flew in and took Carissa on it's back while Brianna decided to fly on her own. They soon arrived at the entrance of the class and Carissa got down and thanked the unicorn, it neighed and flew away.

Both entered into the class and found seats close to each other. All the while,she kept hearing stuff like. "That's the chosen one,isn't she gorgeous? It seems she's already friends with Brianna, that girl is just so jolly."

After settling into her seat properly, she felt someone tap her and say "Hey." She turned back and saw it was the boy that helped her stand up the previous day. She smiled at him "Hey." She called back. "You're looking gorgeous." He praised and she tried her best not to blush. This feeling was very weird to her,this was someone that barely had time for boys but here she was blushing from a mere comment from a complete stranger. She knew it wasn't love or anything like that,it couldn't possibily be. Maybe the magic was just heightening her emotions more than normal.

"Thanks." She replied "I'm Darren and you are Carissa." He introduced for the both of them and she smiled. She was definitely going to like this boy,she just knew it.
