The Clash

"Darren, why are you such a playboy?" Brianna asked playfully. "I can't help it that girls love me." He said and She hit him playfully. "Carissa don't succumb to his flattery,he has a girlfriend. And you, Darren. You know how Kira is and you wanna put Carissa under her radar? You shouldn't be messing with the chosen one." Brianna said to Carissa before focusing on Darren.

"Oh,Bree stop being such a killjoy. It's not like we're doing anything wrong,we're just chatting." Darren said and Brianna shook her head and decided to mind her business.

Darren was very smooth with girls and Carissa saw no harm in talking to him. Thus,their conversation continued and soon entailed laughing. Carissa instantly found out that Darren was a werewolf. Although she had read about them countless times,she hadn't been able to bring herself to believe in them or at least like them until today,that is.

Carissa hadn't noticed that the noise in the class had lessened until Darren stopped talking to her and focused his gaze on someone else. She traced his line of vision and saw a very beautiful girl. Her skin was so pale but had a certain shine to it,her long dark hair flowed like the river down her back and her red lips seemed to be twisted in a frown. Carissa didn't know if to be jealous or impressed,she tried to be polite. "Hi,my name is Car......" But she was cut short. "I know what the f**k your name is,now just shut up and keep your distance." Carissa was stunned by such a rude answer,this girl was behaving like she had committed an atrocity.

The admiration instantly disappeared by the girl's surprisingly rude comment. What followed next was more sinister. "Dar,what the f**k are you doing with this ugly thing?"

Carissa could swear that the sentence knocked the wind out of her sail,so it was true when they said don't judge a book by it's cover. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Carissa fought back.

"I wasn't talking to you w***e. I know you can't help it that you're ugly and underdressed but don't you let being the chosen one get in your head. You're nothing but a burden, coming to steal my boyfriend." The girl attacked Carissa again and this time she was overcome by shock. Where was the hatred coming from? It's not like she was caught kissing or having s*x with Darren.

"Kira please don't start,how can you be so rude to her?" Darren asked his girlfriend,utterly embarrassed by her behavior. "How dare you talk to me like that because of this filthy thing from the sewers. I mean look at her,she's so ugly and disgusting." Kira said and Carissa awakened from her shock ridden state,all she felt for this girl now was hatred.

She hadn't said anything mean because she didn't want to pick a fight on her first day,it would not speak good of her but surely,this girl had crossed the line. She threw courtesy to the wind and finally spoke up. "I don't know what the f**k your problem is but you better go sort it out first before opening that cursed mouth of yours to speak to me. What makes you think you're better? Your boyfriend must be so sick of you and that's why he finds solace in talking to other girls. I mean have you looked in the mirror lately? Well you should because the beauty you think you're so proud of isn't there, all I see is a tired little b***h with eye bags under her eyes." Carissa fired back and the class was immediately filled with murmuring, some people laughed out but tried to control it due to the fear of Kira.

It was true that Kira had eye bags because she truly hadn't been getting enough sleep lately,courtesy of Carissa, the chosen one. Fact,Kira used to be the most popular and sought out girl in Mystery High. Firstly because she was very beautiful and quite sassy, she was also very intelligent and her name was always on the lips of the students and teachers until just a few days ago,when the rock of prophecy had glowed brightly, signalling the come of the chosen one was near.

After that happened, literally everyone forgot about her and ignored her like she didn't matter or even exist. The only thing that was on everyone's lips was that stupid name, Carissa. The name tasted bitter in her tongue when she had tried to say it and she instantly hated the girl for stealing her popularity when she hadn't even arrived.

The angst wasn't about Carissa talking to Darren,she knew her boo wouldn't dare cheat on her,it was about the fact that Carissa had stolen all the attention away from her without knowing it. This disgusting thing was definitely no match for her,for goodness sake she had arrived dressed like a boy. Did everyone really think this confused tomboy was supposed to save them all? Of course, not! She certainly should have been the chosen one, she had the looks,the flair,the knowledge and the power,so why was it given to this annoying girl? As if stealing her popularity wasn't enough, she now had the audacity to be flirting with her boyfriend? This was certainly unacceptable.

Kira hissed at her,baring her fangs to the girl who became slightly afraid. Now the beauty made sense, she's a vampire. No matter how scary she looked, Carissa would not back down.

"Enough of this, you guys certainly can't be arguing over such a trivial matter,we're all adults for crying out loud. Besides, the teacher will be arriving, so end this now." Brianna finally stepped in and Carissa thought it wise to back down but Kira didn't.

"Look at you,cowardly little w***e. How are you supposed to save us when you can't even face me." Kira taunted with a sadistic smile. "Darren you had better put this girlfriend of yours on a tight leash, she's obviously lost it and thinks everyone's mad like her." Carissa said with a smile and Kira tried to attack her but was held back by Darren. "Who the hell are you calling crazy?" She raged.

"The teacher's coming, everyone settle down." A student by the door announced and everyone settled down like nothing had been going on before. The teacher entered into the classroom.
