Chapter 10

I watch on as Jenifer takes all the life support off and brings Azura out the coma, I'm fascinated watching it but also super excited, just then Marcus taps my shoulder "f**k man, quit scaring me" I say as I jump in fright as I was watch intensely "dude the way you jumped you'd think I was the grim reaper" "you might as well be, that's twice you f*****g scared me, you're gunna give me a heart attack" "well at least you're in the right place for it" Marcus answers back, then unexpectantly Jennifer adds "yeah, just not quite the right time though" I look blankly "was not expecting that" I say stunned that Jennifer joined in the banter "also Oliver, I need to warn you. She can sometimes be wary with strangers, don't take any offence if she says anything mean when she first sees you. That's kinda her defence method, just give her time to get to know you" I weren't fazed though by what he said "don't worry, my mom's best friend, her son has autism and is also none verbal so I understand that kind of stuff" Marcus smiles at me "I'm glad to hear that, I truly am" "I'm just so excited to make a new friend, no matter how long it takes, and bonus she seems like an awesome chic" again Marcus smiles at me.

I look out the corner of my eye and see Jennifer smiling listening to our conversation, then I take a small glance at Azura then look at Marcus and I can't help but smile as I turn to look at Azura as Jennifer finishes taking Azura off life support as she gives Azura stuff to bring her out the coma. Jennifer then looks up at me and Marcus, I'm still looking like a goof with an idiotic smile of my face looking forward to properly meeting Azura "there, the rest is up to Azura now as to when she wakes up" Jennifer says with a smile. I turn to Marcus "so, apart from knocking people out, what other talents does she have?" I ask referring to Azura "Where does she live? What hobbies does she have? I'm sorry with all the questions I'm just really excited" I carry on to Marcus "it's ok man, I'm glad you want to be her friend" he starts "but to answer your questions, she's an amazing singer but just really doesn't believe in herself, she's also really good at fixing anything with wheels and an engine. As to where she lives, I feel like that's more for you to wait and let her tell you" this is so amazing, I can't wait to get to know her more "awesome" is all I could gather to say in excitement.

A Few Hours Later

It had been a few hours Marcus was on his phone and I on mine, we're both starting to nod off to sleep as it felt like ages when I then seen a finger move on Azura, I shook Marcus "what man?" Marcus said tiredly "AJ's finger just moved" "nah dude you must be.." then her finger moved again and we were both wide awake, Marcus held Azura's hand "shh, I'm here AJ, I know you might not be able to hear me but I'm right here" he says reassuringly, I on the other hand filled up with excitement and couldn't contain it "sweet! She's waking up, that's awesome" I exclaim "hit the call button please" Marcus asks so I do just that "thanks man" Marcus says as I push the call button, I am full of excitement and really can't contain it at all "no problem, I'm just happy she's finally waking up, I can't wait to meet her and be friends" I say as Marcus remains calm I just start going crazy with happiness, I then pause as I hear Azura mumble "hmm, no. Stab me I'll cut you to pieces...fuckoff now....your funeral..." Marcus and I chuckle "I'm guessing she's dreaming of a fight" I say "can't say I disagree" Marcus says as he starts to stroke Azura's hand and face "it's important to not move too much or make sudden movements" Marcus says to me calmly then turns to Azura again and with the same calmness in his voice "it's ok AJ, it's ok" "ok, whatever you say dude, I just can't wait" "also you might want to calm a bit, and don't be surprised if she's wary or insults you. She has a huge hatred for hospitals, she was really sick when she was younger and since then she's hated hospitals" Marcus says to me, I calm down taking in what he was saying then it hit me on what he said "wait you mean to tell me when she was a kid she had..." I couldn't finish the sentence but I didn't have to as I see Marcus nod "holy geez" I exclaim "sorry, calm and quite. Wait, was it bad? Will it...is there a chance it can...." I didn't know how to ask the question but again didn't have to as Marcus nods "she had multiple types, she's lucky to be alive as they were all very serious. She's not 'cured' as such, she's just in remission" Marcus explains, I pause for a minute taking it in, I mean I guess I'd hate hospitals too if I had to go through all that, then I realise just how badass this kid is "wow, she just keeps becoming more and more awesome" I say amazed at the short insight of Azura I'm getting.

I remain in my spot close by Marcus, but out of Azura's view behind Marcus a bit as to not frighten her when she opens her eyes. Marcus remains stroking Azura as Jennifer arrives, Jennifer looking like she's run raggered " I came as quick as I could, good job keeping her relaxed until I came son" "thanks mom" Marcus says still in that calm tone. Jennifer starts checking on whatever she has to "right, providing her vital are ok, as soon as she's fully alert, she can leave, but..." then she just cuts off, I'm confused as to why but Marcus knows his mom very well "I know that look mom, what's up?" Marcus asks slightly wary "I'm going to have to put an oxygen mask on her and giver her some oxygen before she can leave. She'll just go extremely breathless otherwise, and quite possibly collapse" Jenifer explains "I love you mom, but I ain't telling AJ that she can't get out of here when she wakes up" "I wouldn't expect you to son" Jennifer replies as Azura starts to move a bit more, just as Jennifer tries to put the oxygen mask on Azura, Azura wakes up and to say she weren't impressed would be an understatement as she keeps pushing Jennifer away as Marcus lets go and stands closer to me.
